Best thin crust in the pizza game. Only been to this location. I’ve heard the other locations aren’t as good. But this is the same amazing pizza I remember when I was a little kid. Who ever stole all my Pokemon cards when I was a little kid is going to h*ll.

Just as great as when they had locations in Milwaukee. Great pizza and pub burgers. It brings back great memories from 45 years ago. Order the pizza and other items at the counter. When light flashes on table your order is ready. Good food and found memories.

Seriously, every time my family and I has stopped here for lunch, we get a large sausage and it’s always good. My parents say they used to come here years ago, and I’m glad I’ve found this place again. It’s a nice option for families and it’s nice bringing your own stuff to the table. Oh, and I’ve tried their popcorn shrimp and they are GOOD! My mom made a good point, the other day when we had Lou Malnatis, their thin crust was pretty blah compared to Barnabys. Overall, great quick lunch/dinner option.

This pizza is really really great. Me and my husband like to order a pizza every Friday night. It became almost a tradition. I finally got to experience Barnaby’s and I’m glad I did! The pizza is our family favorite!(Spinach and cheese). Always a crowded place, but once you eat here once, you will understand why! I recommend to anyone!

Old school eats! For thin crust this place is the jam. Idk if this place has changed in 40 years. A must if your in Northbrook…

A couple of friends of mine on different times have recommended this place. I was there with the wife and my son. Sorry but I’m very disappointed with the majority of the reviews about the pizza at this place. First, their crust is pre made(you can’t make a good pie with a pre made crust) and when you order they put this very bland cheap sauce and not so good cheese and coated with dry oregano to make a very bad marriage of ingredients. I come from east coast and a previous owner of a pizza place, and trust me this is by far the most overrated pizza so far. The crust is thin and made with a lot of cornmeal but not tasty at all. There are way better pizza around here.

The pizza from Barnaby’s is really, really good. My husband and his family have been getting pizza from Barnaby’s for years, and I finally got to experience the pizza I had heard so much about. They weren’t kidding – it’s a delicious pizza. My husband also heartily recommends the wings. I think my mother in law agrees, and that is one lady who truly knows her chicken wings.

Disgusting. They burned our pizza. I phoned to complain and Frank the manager accused me of burning them myself. I wasn’t even trying to get my money back. I just wanted to tell them it wasn’t good. He told me that I was sketchy because I was calling hours later(after my guests left and I cleaned the house). Then he told me he didn’t believe me and told me to bring the so-called burned pizza back to the restaurant in order to get a credit. He fought with me and hung up on me. Utterly awful. I wasn’t even rude about it.

Weak. I cannot understand the appeal of this place. This is the second or third time we’ve tried it. Disappointing, once again. Pizza was overcooked. My wife(review below) was hoping to surprise her family, who was in town and have a history with Barnaby’s, and was embarrassed by what we served. When they left, she called to report her disappointment and was immediately met not with sympathy or understanding or apologies. But instead, got denials, suspicion, and accusations — refusing to acknowledge any problem; questioning why she had waited 6 hours(until after her family left) to call to complain and then demanding that she bring in the uneaten pizza into the restaurant to «prove» that it was bad. To top it all off, they accused US of burning their pizza. Began arguing with her and then hung up on her. I’m not restaurateur, but I’m pretty sure that setting my Bluestar range at 125 degrees wasn’t going to burn anything. Not only will we not go back, but I will use any occasion involving pizza discussion to let my friends know about the poor product and service. The bar for pizza on the North Shore is already very low, with quality being mediocre at the best places. But this takes the cake — not only under achieving, but literally adding insult to injury. If I could rank it fewer than 1 star I would.

The best place to bring the kids and still have an adult beverage. No matter how crowded it gets it never gets too loud or chaotic. The family place that has not changed in 40 years since I was here as a kid with my parents.

UPDATE! THEYNOWDELIVERUSINGTHEDOORDASHAPP! The place is still as good as it was when I started go to this chain 40 years ago. The pizza, thin crust is still excellent with many meat and vegan choices and the the Italian beef and other sandwiches still amazing and delicious. Try the place if your near one, though they are usually packed on Friday.

This pizza is a family favorite! Whenever we crave pizza this is our first choice. Sadly we moved to the farther side of Northbrook so it’s kinda far for us now I wish they delivered! I don’t think they have anything other than thin crust but it wouldn’t matter because that’s all we like. Don’t go another week without trying Barnaby’s! The atmosphere is so cool, it’s got a lot of history in there and it’s just cozy and makes you feel like home. My only complaint is the last couple times whoever the hostess was was kind of rude over the phone, just really short with me and then when I picked up the pizza she wasn’t friendly. It was not busy the night I went in either or I’d understand a little more. Otherwise, food is incredible!

This pizza is some of the best around ANYWHERE. And I love that it is in Northbrook, my home town, and now on the way home from work. So amazing. Pizzas are so fresh and well priced. The ingredients list is great! Get the garlic with jalapenos and pepperoni and spinach; I promise it’s amazing! They have a huge menu of other things like sandwiches and salads, which are also yummy. But duh, GETPIZZAANDLOTSOFIT. Eating in is always a fun affair. Can be crowded, lots of family, but fun. And the ordering system with the muffled microphones always bring laughs with me and my friends who went here as a kid. ANDTHECHEESEANDCRACKERS! Keep going up to the counter to get more; do not feel guilty! I’m so jealous Northbrook calls this their own. The crust is what makes this pizza special. Cannot compare it to anywhere else. I WANTITNOW!

This pizzeria is the most unbelievable pizzeria of it ever had the pleasure of eating at. The first Barnaby’s I dined at it was on 79th and Pulaski Ave in Chicago Illinois which unfortunately is no longer there but this one here is truly a wonderful restaurant and I have been going to Barnaby’s for over 40 years and never been disappointed.

I’ve passed by this restaurant a million times. I don’t know what’s kept me from coming in, but on our way to Corner Bakery tonight, my hubby suggested we stop in for a family dinner. I am SO glad we did! It was an ideal family dining experience and we’ll be back time and time again. My hubby hasn’t been here in 20 years, and when we walked in he said it’s exactly the same as how he remembers it. That says a lot. The process was a little confusing at first. At first we weren’t sure if we just seat ourselves or if we’re supposed to wait for someone, but it’s still the same system. Note: The booths are a bit of a squeeze, so I’m thinking people were skinnier when this place was originally designed? Small booth = not a lot of room for the food and plates and glasses. I used the empty booth next to us for extra dishes. Grab your seat, grab your menu, and place your order with the cashier. Then walk over to the bar and get your drinks. With it being a Monday night it was nice and quiet, but I can imagine on a busier night it would be pure chaos. Also, there is a bit of running around. Once we got our pizza, my hubby(who NEVER remembers napkins) had to first get up for napkins. Then I asked him to get plates. Then a cheese shaker, and I didn’t even dare ask him to go back for silverware. The next time I’ll sit on the outside. We ordered a 14″ large pizza half cheese and half with a mix of canadian bacon and pepperoni. Since my hubby is a vegetarian, he ordered the organic greens salad and replaced the chicken with a bunch of veggies. We were told it would be about 25 minutes for our pizza to come out, so we made sure to order a side of french fries(under $ 2) while we waited. After ordering pizza we then went to the bar area and ordered a pitcher of root beer and four glasses for $ 6. A real bargain. The only thing that was a bit of a bummer, is the fact that the ice melted really quickly and the root beer was somewhat warm throughout our meal. I don’t know about you, but I prefer cold and fizzy soda. Also, once we sat down we realized how thirsty we were and got up to get a pitcher of water. Note: Order water and soda at the same time just in case things get backed up at the bar. Our meal came to around $ 32 with two orders of fries, large pizza, specialty salad, and root beer. The pizza was fantastic. It’s a bit greasy in a good way and it’s a thin cornmeal crust. I much prefer thin crust pizza, especially in the summer, so this made for a light and filling meal. Kiddos loved the pizza, and even my hubby, who has cut back on his cheese intake, couldn’t resist. The french fries are the thin version, just like they were in the past. Hasn’t changed in years. An old staple from my hubby’s past. And, to top it off, on the way out we saw a high school friend he hadn’t seen in years, who he used to hang out with at Barnaby’s. Some things just don’t change.

In town for business and one of my coworkers recommended this place, we’ll let me tell you; it is a very different concept to what I’m use to. You order and pay for food on one side of the counter and you go to the other side of the counter to order beverages. You get an order number and you wait till they call it. You have to ask for plates and silverware at the counter as well… food did not impress me, appetizers were not great either. The only decent dish we tasted was a side of coleslaw and we all ended eating from the coleslaw as we weren’t enjoying any of the other dishes. I was opened minded enough to try the corn crust pizza, I just didn’t like it at all. Pasta was ok but nothing out of this world. It was just not a good dining experience.

With so many great pizza places in the Chicagoland area, I can’t say that Barnaby’s is near the top of my list. However, it is decent and kids seem to love it. Service is friendly and quick; you order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. Drinks, even non-alcoholic, must be ordered separately at the bar, which is a bit of a pain. Come early on weekends as it does get crowded.

I’ve gone to Barnaby’s off and on for the past 25 years and they have some truly great pizza pie. I don’t know why its taken me this long to put up a review because this is probably my favorite pizza of all time, even over the praised Chicago Deep Dish and New York Floppy that I oh so love. I don’t live remotely close anymore, and I don’t have relatives nearby anymore either, but I still make the pilgrimage when the urge rises. Barnaby’s is a no frills traditional restaurant. Their ordering system involves ordering at the counter and then waiting to be called to walk up and get it, but other than that it’s a normal family place. The workers don’t often speak the best English or know all of what is expected to be done, but they are polite and usually unless they’re crazy busy the orders come out in a timely fashion. You go here for one reason, and one reason only. GOODPIE. Their signature thin crust square-sliced delight is one of those addictions I’ll never be able to quit. The salty taste that some have remark’d is too overdone is absolute perfection in my opinion, the corn meal crust and bottom is mouthwatering delicious, and it’s one of the best«leftover» pizzas I’ve ever had. Whenever I go there now, I make sure to post it on Facebook solely to make friends and family who’ve been jealous because they know how good it is too. My wife had a somewhat similar place in her hometown and she immediately liked it as well, asking me to make the detour whenever we’re nearby. If you don’t like the restaurant, fine I get it. But if you don’t like the pizza or you order a burger when you’re there, my mind is officially blown. Their pizza is divine and I’m pretty sure if I make it to what folks call«old age» I’ll be banging on the nursing home tables for them to get me Barnaby’s. Viva La Pizza

Ahhh… Barnaby’s. What an interesting experience you are… First of all — the main point here is that the pizza is quite excellent, and unique compared to a typical thin-crust pizza from most places around town. They do a cornmeal crust, and I gotta say — I like it! We generally do carry-out pizza(no delivery here) — or you can dine in. For those who have never been(of which I was one until I met my wife some 7 years ago and we came here for dinner) — there is no table service. You have to order at the counter, and pick up at the window. Drinks all come from the bar. There’s also this cheese spread and cracker situation near the order counter to help yourself on. It’s pretty good. Inside is certainly a blast from the past décor-wise…but whatever, the pizza is good. The rest of the menu items we’ve ever had are fine, certainly nothing too special… this place is all about the pizza! Try it sometime!

Wow, this place is bad. Really bad. Lets start with the service. We walked in and were a bit confused– it looked like you order at the counter but there were also menus on all the tables. So I asked employee 1 where we ordered. He muttered something none of our group could understand so I asked again. He scoffed and walked away without answering. Great start. Then I went to the counter and waited for about 6 – 7 minutes for someone to come over. The man who came over, who was in charge of taking orders and also calling out peoples numbers was totally unintelligible. This was something everyone in the restaurant would comment on every time he read a number because no one in the place had any idea what number he was saying. The process of getting our order in took another 10 minutes as we tried to work through the language barrier. Now after you order your food you have to go to a separate line at the bar to get a drink. We walk over there and again begin waiting… and waiting… and waiting. We got to our table 22 minutes after walking in the door. I got Veal Parmigiana which came with a side of garlic bread and spaghetti. The veal itself was decent– crispy on the outside, had decent cheese on it. The rest though was very bad. As soon as I tasted the spaghetti I thought of Goodfellas «Can’t even get decent food — right after I got here, I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce, and I got egg noodles and ketchup. I’m an average nobody… get to live the rest of my life like a schnook.» Nailed it. The garlic bread was comically bad. The other people in my group got a pizza and it looked terrible– at this point I was done with it so I didn’t even try.
