I went here one day and had the Ferrero Rocher crêpe… freakin’ delicious. I went back the next day and they were closed… like, closed for forever kinda closed. What happened? Now where can I get quick, delicious crepes? :(

It seems this location has closed. Calling the listed phone number says that the line has been disconnected. The Lettuce Entertain You organization, which ran this stand, no longer lists this location on its web site(the one in the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN is still listed).

I can’t fathom the bad reviews! I used to work in Northbrook but now live over 2 hours away. I used to go there twice a week for lunch. I loved it the people are friendly the food is phenomenal. For dinner I was actually going to try to make the turkey and cheese crêpe hence my review I was actually trying to find a recipe for it! I know I could never touch their chocolate crepes or the fabulous sundae crêpe. I think it was the whipped cream which is really unlike anything I’ve ever tried. I would always order an extra one and the chef never charged me for it. The only bad thing I could say is that its way addictive and I had to limit myself. I have been considering the drive and after reviewing I will be making the trip there soon.

Wife and I had four crepes; turkey and cheese 3 stars, santa fe chicken 4 stars, nutella 3 stars(to sweet), and the apple caramel was 4 stars. The staff was polite and quick, the store was spotless, and the prices are fair, $ 24 for 2 drinks &4 crepes. I dont understand all of the Unilocal hate for this place, Ive had crepes at the old Magic Pan and Ive had crepes in Paris, and the crepes here are just fine. They are after all, only crepes.

I like this place. I don’t get crepes too often here, and they aren’t spectacular, but for a crêpe place, they do a good job with salads and soups! I love their chopped salad. The service is friendly, too.

I must be in the minority but I LOVE this place! Reminds me of the«good old days» when I enjoyed many trips to the Magic Pan restaurants, seems we always ended up there to celebrate or drown our sorrows. The spinach & chicken divan crepes as well as the pea soup are pretty close to the originals. It is a bit pricey but great as a treat!!!

Wow, there’s not much love for the magic pan out there! My mother grew up going to this restaurant in Chicago, so it was a nostaligic trip for her when they first opened. I have always enjoyed my entrees here(I usually get the vegetarian santa fe crêpe: cornmeal crêpe, guac, salsa, pepper jack cheese, sour cream and veggies) and it’s wonderful! The dessert crepes are to DIEFOR… get the seasonal pumpkin one during the fall, you will not be disappointed! Also, the strawberry, chocolate, banana crêpe dessert creations are equally as yummy. A tip: their bottled water is expensive, so if you want to drink something on the cheap(like me), head on over to corner bakery across the way and steal some of their water and lemon :)

Like all the other reviews, I was expecting what I grew up with. This is not the case. It’s a crêpe stand in a shopping mall. If you are expecting the rotating pans over the open fire, this is not what you will get. I hope you read this and save gas and your time. If you do end up there all I can comment on is the chocolate crepes, they are good.

I came here on my lunch break one day because I didn’t want Sbarro or McDonald’s or Taco Bell… and the line for Corner Bakery was too long. So, because it was a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, I thought it HAD to be good. I ordered the ham and cheese crêpe and high hopes! However, maybe I should’ve went with my gut and ordered that spinach crêpe instead. I paid $ 6 for the meal and was still starving afterwards. Maybe I should’ve tried the dessert crepes instead as those seemed to be more appealing. On the plus side, the staff was über friendly! But, sidenote — didn’t there used to be a Subway in this mall?!

Paris, the suburbs are not. Street vendor on the Seine? Non. This is a mall food court. That said, its refreshing if you need to munch on something other than a slice of Sbarro, a tad of Taco Bell or a piece of pretzel from Auntie Anne’s. It’s made right there in front of you and the service was quick and friendly. The ingredients aren’t as great as you’d find in a Creperie in Lakeview for example but again let me reiterate this cheese is for the mallrats, but for those it shall satisfy. Brought to you by Lettuce Entertain You. Points logged.

I was a huge fan of the old Magic Pan restaurant; as a child it used to be a huge treat to get something exotic like crepes. So I was excited to try this place out(which is run by Lettuce Entertain You) when I was shopping at Northbrook Court. What a disappointment — nothing at all like the old restaurant! If I may echo the other reviews — what’s up with the cheese sauce? I definitely do not recall the old MP using velveeta — ish cheese sauce, especially for a dish as light as a spinach crêpe! I would have expected more from a Lettuce Entertain You establishment. Perhaps the dessert crepes are decent; but don’t waste your time eating lunch here.

I’d give this zero stars if I could. This place is just horrible, horrible, horrible. I too, remember the Magic Pan of years back as the sit-down restaurant. That was the first surprise… on the recommendation of a co-worker, I trekked my husband and parents all the way out to Northbrook Court only to find this food court dump.(Co-worker forgot to say it wasn’t a sit-down restaurant anymore… ARGH!) Every single crêpe we had was swimming in nasty processed cheese of the Velveeta variety… ick! The best thing to do if you are in Northbrook Court near Magic Pan, is to go to the Coldstone Creamery next door. The sweet crepes at Magic Pan MIGHT be edible, but I wouldn’t give them any more of my money to find out. I’ll never live down taking my family to this pit.

I want to like Magic Pan. Enough that I keep going back hoping I’ll stumble upon something that I’m inclined to order a second time. As an alternative to Corner Bakery amongst non-healthy food court options, this has potential, especially with the choice of adding soup or a fresh salad to your crêpe for a minimal add-on fee. But there’s something about it that caused us to realize that it may be the Subway of creperies. Perhaps it’s the cheddar cheese sauce. Really, I’ve had a good number of savory crepes elsewhere made simply and successfully by folding ham and swiss into a buckwheat crêpe. But items like cheddar cheese sauce and processed chicken make the meal plasticky and preservative-filled. Once you add a salad and a soda, your lunch bill comes to a steep $ 10.

Growing up I used to go the the Magic Pan all the time. Back then it was a sit down restaurant that made crepes on the back of pans for everyone to see(hence the name). The old MP would get four stars. In its present incarnation, its good but not great. MP serves salads, soups and of course crepes. I actually liked the salad and soup better. The tomato soup was perfect, creamy and smooth with just enough spiciness. The chopped salad was also very good. We ordered three crepes. A turkey one for my son(1 yr old), my wife ordered a Southwestern and I had the Italian one. Also were good, but lacked a wow factor. The first time I was here about a year and a half ago we took my wife’s nephew for desert. The desert crepes are definitely the way to go.
