I’ve fallen in love with Northland Laboratories! I love focus groups for some extra dinero, but even more than focus groups I love taste testing! The building a is a little hidden, just off of Skokie Blvd next to the highway. Look for the 24 hour animal hospital and turn in there, you’ll then see the big building for Northland Labs towards the back. They have a good sized parking lot which is a great thing about taste tests in the ‘burbs. At Northland Lab, the groups are smaller than other places I’ve gone to for taste testing — just about 10 people. You sign in and get a number to enter once you get your booth. They have a waiting room for you to hang out in while everyone arrives. The main lady working here is super friendly, the nicest I’ve ever encountered at any type of research or taste testing company. You get your own personal booth, sign in on the computer and food is given to you through a window with water & crackers to eat between each product. Unlike other taste testing places, they tell you what brand of product you are tasting. This week I went to twice-On day one I had Rolos, Brach’s Caramel Poppins and Milk Duds and Day Two was Mint M&Ms, Junior Mints, Peppermint Patties & Brach’s Mint Poppins. Obviously the new product were the Brach’s candies. I got $ 25 in check form per day for 20 minutes of eating candy and answering questions on them. Uhhhh, yes please!
