Great location; a bit narrow on the casino floor though. The restaurants are top notch in quality and Hard Rock Live is a great concert venue.

This review is based solely on Club Velvet’s Country Nights. My sister found out from friends that 3 Thursdays a month there is Country Line dancing with free lessons starting at 6:30 and a live band that starts at 8pm. Jackpot! This is the closest place to where I live that offers line dancing where people actually(gasp) line dance and don’t just sit around. The people here are incredibly nice, our waitress was friendly and 16oz Miller Lites are only $ 3! Wahoo!

I’ve never been to the casino before so this was my first time and I have to say, I had a great time! This casino gives you $ 10 free to gamble with your first time and a complimentary beer and a few goodies when we sat down to dine. I walked out with a few extra bucks in my pocket after the meal and slots. Also there is live music and when they have shows, the tickets are very reasonable! Its a very convenient location and the parking is also great! A++

Two part review: One for buffet and other for concert venue Hard Rock Live. Ate at the Fresh Harvest Buffet. I give the buffet a 2.5 rating. For«fresh harvest» in the name, it was tough to find something that was not breaded, fried or in a pan of gravy. I was able to make some good choices with peel & eat shrimp, salads and vegetables though. Also tried the rotisserie chicken, clams and mussels, but was dry and not very fresh tasting. The menu rotates and the buffet is very large so everyone should be able to find something that they can enjoy. Server was very friendly and kept us supplied with fresh beverages & was quick to remove finished plates. If you are at the casino it is very convenient to eat there. Overall, not the best or worst buffet I have ever had. Hard Rock Live is a very nice venue to see a live concert. Smaller hall so I think most seats would be great. Also, the have large projection screens to help those in the back. I give it a 5 star rating. Between the two experiences, I averaged it out and give them a 4 star.

The theater is the worst venue I’ve encountered. This is my second time, I won’t be back. The seats are too close together and the guy next to me bumped his leg against me so many times, I think we’re married. Most seats are on the floor and it’s impossible to see the performer on the stage. I’m done.

I’ve been to the Rocksino for two shows in the past year; with the most recent experience being last night! First off as a venue alone, it’s fantastic. I like attending a concert with seats and having the option to stand. It’s a very spacious venue and the sound quality is fantastic. Everything about it makes for an enjoyable show. Secondly, my first time there was my first time in a casino at all so it was great to take that experience in. I signed up as a member and received ten dollars of free play plus tickets to their comedy club! I sadly didn’t get to use them due to my own schedule constraints, but being a comedy fan and a consumer, this was a lovely gift. On the note of the gambling itself: unfortunately Ohio laws don’t allow for them to have anything but slots; which I don’t trust. It’s okay though for a cheap thrill. The bar was impressive as the bartender, Kent, was very friendly and fun to interact with. The drinks were $ 7 or $ 8 I believe(I was drinking Jack and water), but the pour is worth your money! The whole facility is very nice and makes me think of a Chuck-E-Cheese for adults haha. It’s bright, shiny, and full of life. It’s certainly a fun place to visit and I recommend everyone stop up there at least once.

I am not a big gambler but I have occasionally gone to casinos in other locations because they had a good entertainment show or good food available at odd hours. I was initially heartened by the fact that the Hard Rock Rocksino offers rock shows(most of the«classic rock» variety that targets people over 40, but I’ll cop to fitting that demographic) and is open 24⁄7. Honestly, if it just had decent food 24⁄7 in a casino atmosphere I’d probably be a fan. Unfortunately, it falls a bit short on the show front and a lot short on the food front. I’ll put its good points first: when you walk in, it looks fancy and Vegas-y, has all the rock memorabilia and décor you’d expect from a Hard Rock Café, there’s a ton of free parking, security in evidence both inside and in the lot, and the staff are pretty nice. But with respect to the show, while the sound was good and the lights looked nice, the concert room is about on the level of an auditorium at the State Fairgrounds — just a big blank room with a tile floor and removable portable seats. In fact the State Fairgrounds auditorium was probably better as it had folding chairs that can be moved a couple inches apart if you need some breathing room. The seating at the Rocksino(and most shows seem to be seated) consists of tiny individual padded seats fused together without dividers between them. When I say«tiny» I mean that I as a 5 foot 3 female can fit in one OK(just), but given that this is a casino in the boonies of Ohio catering to older people, the average person sitting in these seats is shall we say hefty and in many cases is a large framed man to boot. Which means the odds are excellent that you’re going to be jammed leg to leg or butt cheek to butt cheek with some fat stranger all night long. It has happened to me every time and if I’m lucky there’s some empty seats in the vicinity to which I can move when I get tired of the large and sometimes drunk person next to me practically sitting in my lap. The room itself is also decidedly un-fancy and un-nice compared to the decorated casino attached to it. I understand maybe you want to use the room for different things, but it certainly doesn’t look like a Vegas showroom and in fact I have seen high school auditoriums that looked better than this. The other major problem with this place is the food, especially the price and availability of it. Eating prior to a show is often difficult, especially on a weeknight, when the show is starting at 7:30 or 8 pm and I have to get out of work, change clothes and then drive about an hour to get to the place. They advertise that you can get 5 dollars off an entrée with your ticket stub after the show, but by the time the shows let out(usually between 9:30 and 10:30-ish), most if not all the restaurants in this place are closed or getting ready to close at 11 pm. The Hard Rock Café does stay open till 1 on Friday and Saturday only, but since there are shows every day of the week here, you can’t rely on that(and often there’s a long line to get a table since like I said everything else is closed). When the Hard Rock is closed or overcrowded, the only other option is the 24⁄7 coffee shop, which I stupidly thought might be like Las Vegas casino«coffee shops» and serve a limited diner food menu all night. Instead it serves coffee, 4 dollar danishes and 10 dollar premade sandwiches that have been sitting in a fridge case. Ugh. Try to get out of there before 11 pm so you can hit up Mr. Chicken across the street — it’s way cheaper and your food will at least be hot. I might come back sometime if another band i like plays, but this isn’t really on my list of favorite places to visit.

I am not a HUGE casino person, but this used to be one of my favorites because the penny slots were fun. I don’t love gambling, but I’d drop a $ 20 to play the slots for awhile every now and again and Hard Rock was one of my preferred places to go until recently. They re-tooled all of their slot machines since the last time I went and they’re just. .. not fun anymore. All of the line options were taken away and now you just click a button over and over and over again; slot machines have always been a little zombie-ish but I mean, I want SOME illusion of control or options to make it fun. Now, all you control is your bet. Meh. I was so bored I stopped after the dullest $ 10 I ever spent. (I know. I don’t spend a lot gambling. I know I’m not going to win so I can’t spend more than $ 20. I just can’t.) I would give this casino two stars, but I did like it as a venue. I saw Margaret Cho here and they did a good job with the event. I also like their gift shop and memorabilia, so that bumps it up a star.

The place was nice looking! It’s a great place to hang out with friends! I went with my cousin. They had a live band perform when we went, so it was kind of hard to hear what my cousin was saying at times. There food selection really wasn’t the best! I ordered a burger which was pretty delicious, but the fries were to salty! Overall it was pretty nice!

In spite of my criticism, I actually kind of liked the place. The Bad: 1. Location sucks, but not as much as Thistledowntrodden. 2. Really quite small for a «casino» branded as a Hard Rock. 3. Buffet food needs a vast improvement. 4.Its all slots, and the payouts are deplorable. The Good: 1. Its clean — very clean. 2. The interior atmosphere is attractive. 3. The staff seemed OK. 4. Parking was easy. 5. I will probably visit again if I’m in town.

My first time. Clean. Good feel. Had dinner in the buffet room. Seated quickly. Lots of food variety, especially desserts. All the food I tried tasted very good. Made the show on time. Great venue all around.

The casino at first sight is clean, no smoke filled air, the staff is VERY friendly. It could have been security, bar staff or floor walkers. Great attitude, very friendly. The food options are less than desirable. The buffet is just ok, to me it’s your standard basic eats. However no matter what you dietary needs are the staff was more than accommodating to assist in food choices so that was nice. Drinks can be pricey if you choose to go to the bar, however they are well made, and the bar staff is top notch. I can appreciate the good service I’ve gotten the few times I’ve visited. This isn’t Las Vegas, BUT it’s a good time. Tip** if you want to avoid the crowds go early in the day/afternoon and stay away from weekend nights. My favorite day to go is on a Sunday afternoon.

We came for the Dwight Yoakam concert which actually was a blast. Good show. The venue was average with some sound issues. The crowd at the casino was a more rural/suburban crowd. It was packed. I’ll be honest– I’m not a gambler… but this place wasn’t doing it for me. The wait for Hard Rock Café was over 90 minutes when we showed up. Not worth it. Other food options seemed weak. I understand those who come here for the convenience but I’d rather go somewhere where there’s more to do.

I like the rocksino for sure! Actually I like some of the live local bands playing here on the stage versus gambling itself anyways! It’s a nice little layout with a bar located and elevated somewhat higher up to get a better view of the stage. Great location to listen too and see the band for sure! As for the casino end of it? Well previously Unilocalers mentioned the slots here being«tight» I tend to agree with them as well! If you can’t have a good pull in there every now and then, I keep on moving along! I definitely would prefer grabbing dinner here, a beer and listen to the band’s! There’s actually some pretty cool music memorabilia located around the stage area as well. I’d come back in for the entertainment, the casino however needs to «loosen up a little»

Very TIGHT slot machines. The only winning is the very high denomination machines. Beer’s are about $ 4 each, friendly staff. Food is pretty good. So, if you want a night out, non-smoking venue, with some cool memorabilia, this is the place. Just do not expect to win anything.

Pros: No smoking inside! Awesome! First time I’ve left a casino not smelling like an ashtray. It’s very new and clean, with a lot of penny slots. We went on a Monday afternoon and it wasn’t busy with ample room to maneuver and places to gamble. I didn’t see many of the older folks hoarding two or three machines which was refreshing. They have some cool memorabilia around the place as well. Cons: Slots only. Not even video poker or 21, just slots and keno. No free soda/coffee machine, what’s up with that? This is the first casino I’ve ever been to where they didn’t have fountain machines around. I was thirsty and even if I wanted drinks, I never once saw a cocktail waitress walking around, very peculiar. They have several food options which is nice, but the buffet wasn’t the best. I’ve had better casino buffets. It’s not terrible though. I’d go back to the Hard Rock sometime, but it wasn’t all I’d hoped.
