Larry King Orchestra

My son and his beautiful wife had the Larry King Orchestra play at their wedding.
Here are some words describing the band:
Awesome, Incredible, Amazing, Outstanding, Fantastic, Spectacular, KickAss Band.
From the first song to the last, the dance floor was ALWAYS packed!
Each Musician is so talented, and Larry was so great to work with.
They are the BEST band out there!

The Larry King Orchestra was just incredible! They played at my wedding in October and I received so many phone calls regarding the wedding and everyone included the «band» in their compliments. The dancing never stopped which is what everyone wants at their wedding. My Father/​Daughter dance was to Elton John’s «Tiny Dancer» and some of my cousins ran to the stage thinking it was really Elton John, that’s how good they sounded. We got to pick every song that was sung/​played and Larry was a ton of fun to work with.

Larry and the band were ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! My husband, Geoff, and I were truly blown away with LKO from start to finish. It was wonderful working directly with Larry on every detail and he did such a fantastic job of making sure everything was exactly what we wanted. We received countless feedback from both young and old about how fantastic, lively, fun and energetic the band and DJ were. Everyone was on the dance floor having a blast the entire night — exactly what we had wanted!
The wedding was an absolute dream come true. In my wildest imagination, I didn’t think it would turn out so spectacular!

I just wanted to say thank you times a million to everyone at Larry King Orchestra that played at our wedding! The band is 100% the reason why our wedding was so much fun. Two months later, we are still getting compliments about how amazing they were! The moment that our first dance started, we were completely blown away and knew we were going to have an absolutely great night. We would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Very awesome band! Great Musicians and they made things a lot of fun.
I am looking for a wedding band and had the opportunity to hear them play at a recent event. They were amazing with just a few small issues:
Lost one star for two reasons:
— the whole night the music was WAY to loud. I mean crazy, uncomfortable loud.
This level of volume should be reserved for emergency alert systems.
And because of the volume the vocals were less than amazing because they were screamed over the music. For a majority of the songs the lyrics were unintelligible due to the volume of both the music and the attempts to sing over it.
In addition to taking away from the music itself, this meant you had to literally scream to have a conversation and you still couldn’t hear people.
It’s just a bummer the talent couldn’t shine more over the volume because all of the musicians were unbelievably talented!
(However the DJ songs between sets were played at a perfect volume.)
— the tempo of of most songs was sped up and it was hard to enjoy because familiar songs seemed a little off due to this change
These are little things that could easily be tailored to make this a five star experience and I was, honestly, very impressed overall.
I would absolutely hire them!
On top of that, all of the band members were pleasant, nice, friendly, engaging and a lot of fun!

Larry King played at my wedding a few weeks ago and he did an amazing job! He was a pleasure to work with before hand and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a blast at the wedding. We all danced the night away because he really kept the energy up!

Hands down, THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY.
Band was the most important part of our wedding when picking vendors. When we met with Larry King, it was an instant connection. He gets it. He LOVES music and is unbelievably passionate about what he does.
I can’t tell you how many people came up to us at our wedding to say how amazing the band was. The energy was OFF.THE.CHARTS… I have never seen so many people on the dance floor, all night!!! LKO absolutely made our wedding night.

Larry King Orchestra MC’ed and performed at our wedding. They are absolutely exceptional. I am of a music background and am picky when it comes to live music. Larry King and his band, along with his production crew nailed it! People are still talking to us about how amazing the band at our wedding was. Larry King is incredibly easy to work with. His production lead, Mike, is great and helps tremendously with the planning process. Larry himself is quite the character and has the high energy needed to take your event to a whole new level. He is loud and wild, but knows how to be reserved as well. We had a Russian wedding which is slightly different than the standard American dinner and dance wedding format. Larry King and company were able to figure out the scheduling for food and music to accommodate our desires for the wedding schedule exactly as we wanted it. They also provided music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, as well as a jazz band to play the first hour of the reception during dinner and toasts. They ended the night by playing into our DJ meaning there was no gap in the dancing. As goes it with any wedding, we had a few moments where we had to improvise (unexpected guest giving a toast, A/​V guy played video too soon) but Larry King expertly improvised around those situations and no one knew that anything was out of place. My wife and I pictured our wedding to be a dance-​fest which is what Larry King gave us. Highly recommended!!! Quite literally the greatest wedding band in Chicago. We had so many people tell us threy thought LKO was a touring band. We worked together to plan a set based on the expected guest list in oder to make sure the floor was packed the whole time. As part of this planning process, Mike and Larry worked with us through several meetings and offered suggestions that proved they are real pros. We are ready to be groupies as we cannot wait to see them again!

This shouldn’t be only the fourth review!
LKO played at our wedding reception in June 2012 and absolutely killed. My wife and I have been to dozens of weddings in the last five years and there have never been more people on the dance floor than at our wedding. We are now spoiled. I listened to more than 50 bands that advertise themselves as great wedding bands in and around Chicago, and the only band even close is Rendezvous (they are also very, very good). We worked with Larry King and Mike Weber to put together a playlist that was uniquely ours and it was clear during this process that they just love music and love putting on a show for your event. They bring a lot of energy and seem like they’re having as much fun playing the music as we’re having listening /​dancing to it. Every conversation about our wedding over the last six months has involved a discussion about LKO and how great they were.
Almost forgot to mention their playlist is extensive and changes much more often than the list on their website. LKO also learned a couple of songs at our request, which they played perfectly.

Larry and the band are AMAZING!!! Total professionals with very impressive musical resumes. They played at our wedding six years ago and people still tell me how awesome they were. I highly recommend them!

Wow is this really the first review? These guys are awesome. They play all sorts of music from your typical wedding songs to some more recent rock and hiphop even. And they sound very good. I saw them over the weekend at a wedding reception and I was very impressed. I think they could use more harmony vocals, but everything else was great. They have brass, rhythm, synth, vocals, the works. I dunno if you get to choose a setlist or if they come with them, but I’m sure they will improvise where necessary to appease the crowd. Excellent.
