A wonderful small family owned pizza restaurant. Won many awards for the best pizza in town, by what our town calls«Pizza Wars.» The pizza is always hot off the press, and simply amazing. I never have any complaints for when I dine-in usually on week nights. Tonight I went there with my friend. We always come in on a weeknight but we were literally craving the pizza and decided to give it a shot on a Friday night. Not knowing that we would get some poor service. As always, we get a soda each out of the cooler. Usually, on weeknights it is fine by the staff. But tonight, there was some staff there that I didn’t recognize, and went we went to the cooler to get our drinks, they almost ripped our heads off. They told us «it was for to-go only, and these are the only ones you could choose» I politely explained that we were regular customers, and that we always have amazing service by a friend named Amanda. They completely ignored me and went into the back of the kitchen. We grabbed our sodas and sat down. After that little rift, we had to wait about 20 minutes, while being starred down by the girls who tore our heads off about the soda. We never got a waitress, until I was about to get up and leave. I have never waited that long for a server to come over and get our order. When the waitress finally came over, I explained the situation and she said she was fine with it. Thank you! If I knew this before, I would never do it again, but there were no problems. Our pizza came out, hot and delicious. Never dissapoints. We ate and enjoyed it. It was time for the check. Well, time to wait another 10 minutes, when I had to ask another waitress for our waitress. I will come back, but only when Amanda is there because she gives amazing service. I give three stars because the food is great, the service tonight was not. But I will be returning because the food is hard to pass up, and its local to me.

I don’t understand these 5 star reviews. The pizza is nasty, burnt, greasy and way over priced. Two large cheese pizzas are 39 dollars. This place is always dead and the food sucks. No more food from this dive. Don’t know how the doors are still open. If you want to get sick and vomit eat here.

What a mighty fine pie! I’m drooling just thinking about my leftover pizza. I first tried their pizza at the local pizza war contest(which Tony Z’s won, hands down). We finally decided upon randomly visiting the restaurant last night. We ordered a large mooz. This pizza is thicker than most New Haven style pizza, and I do prefer a thicker crust. I feel it was cooked perfectly, crunchy fabulous crust, lots of tangy sauce and a perfect layer of cheese… pure heaven. Honestly we wanted to eat the whole pie but there was just no way. I can’t tell you anything about the meals here but we did end up getting an order of dessert knots with Nutella. Oh my word! The basket was enough to feed a family of four and these little fried zeppoli-like balls of goodness were cooked to perfection, piping hot. Service was friendly. So yeah, we’ll be back much sooner than later! Check it out!

Run! Follow your instinct. Pulled into the parking lot and should have turned around. There were 4 cars in a large parking lot. At first I thought it was closed. Walked in — no hostess and plenty of seating because place was empty on a Saturday night! My husband and two children sat at a booth. The only redeeming quality of the entire place was the lovely waitress. Menu was dirty and had items with a line thought them with sharpie. Ordered a soda and my husband ordered a beer. We should have left then but had a groupon! Ordered an appetizer of cheese sticks, I ordered pasta with a salad, kids ordered chicken fingers and steak sandwich and husband ordered chicken parm. Bread came which was fine but when salads arrive in a small plastic dish I realized where this was headed. Mentioned groupon when waitress came back and she took it and showed the«owner» who promptly came out and said how they wouldn’t honor it because we did not have the required number of people. I understand that but work with us — he wouldn’t! At that point meal was ruined. Food came out and looked unappetizing. We knew we had to pay in full so wrapped it all and left. In total paid 75(including tip — because why should waitress suffer?!) just hope she gets a new job sometime soon. Will never use groupons for restaurants again. They could have honored a portion of the groupon though I admit I still would have never gone back! Again, follow your instincts when you walk into a place! Bells were going off the minute we drove up to the deserted parking lot but having the groupon made me stay. Hoping groupon will give me at least what I paid for this — in my opinion — waste of time, money and food went into the trash.

This is hands down my go to place whenever I need something quick. I’ve never had bad meal here or found anything on their menu I didn’t like. The staff is friendly and after my first visit remembered me every time I came in after that. For the price, food and service, you can beat it.

I have eaten here a number of times, and have always been satisfied with the service and quality of my food. I am a very picky pizza critic, and I have had a few that are outstanding; this is one of them. The quality of the ingredients is noticeable, and consistency is important. The wait staff is always pleasant and helpful, and the also have a great IPA on draught for you beer lovers! The best eat in apizza outside of New Haven

A great thin crust pizza. We had a sausage pepperoni and roasted red pepper beauty. Not only was it good that night but it was good the following day. The brick oven made it special.

All good pizza places carry Foxon Park Soda… especially Birchbeer, whats better than pizza and birchbeer??? Met some friends here and ordered a buffalo shrimp pizza(spicy and delicious), a sausage, pepper, mushroom, onion extra cheese pizza and a fresh clam pizza. The crust is thin like is should be and cooked to perfection, they make their own sausage and it is very tasty, the clams are shucked fresh for the clam pizza, the atmosphere is casual and family oriented and the owner and his wife are so friendly and made us feel right at home, very accomodating and customer service oriented. After dinner we had espresso. We had a very good experience here and will definitely be returning for some of the best pizza I have had!!!

Authentic New Haven style Pizza. Tony is the son of Bob Zuppardi, so if you’re a fan of Zuppardi’s of West Haven, you’re getting the real thing here. The dough is fresh and great-tasting. The toppings are very generous. He even makes a great mashed potato pizza. I give Tony Z’s my highest recommendation.

Nooo! I got take out from this restaurant a little while ago and was less than pleased. I ordered the chicken parmesan dinner and it was so bad! The chicken was luke warm. almost cold in the middle and the chicken itself was disgusting, I even got a fat piece on it. I’m guess that the chicken parmesan is not a great option to choose from the restaurant seeing as another reviewer also said it wasn’t great. I will not be returning.

I’m writing this review from two separate occasions. I can’t say what the inside of the restaurant is like, because I did not experience it first hand. My parents stopped by the restaurant itself and ordered traditional Italian dinners back in July during a week night. My dad’s Chicken Parmesan was okay, but the chicken wasn’t the best quality. My mom’s Broccoli Rab with Sausage was devoid of spices and the sliced garlic wasn’t even cooked all the way. My mom is Italian and a gourmet chef, so the quality of the meals was actually under her skill level on a bad day! My parents expressed dismay with the new restaurant, but I told them that since it advertised itself as a pizza establishment, that they ought to try the pizza before completely dismissing it. We ordered takeout pizza a week ago. We ordered a medium with mozzarella, red peppers, mushrooms, and sausage. The vegetables were fresh and the sausage was zestfully spiced and the amount was generous. The crust itself is a little thicker than traditional«New Haven» style, but it was definitely delicious and fairly priced. So remember, avoid the meals, but order the pizza!

Simply the best pizza in Northford and the surrounding area right now. Menu prices are a bit high, but not unreasonable. Food quality does seem to slip a bit when busy, but not enough to make a real difference. Highly recommended.
