AMF Northglenn Lanes

Best place! The Managers helped us choose a league and were extremely patient teaching our family how to keep score and run the lanes! Great weekly deals as well!

Do not have a birthday party here! First of all they want massive amounts of money, they want you to sign a contract and put half down in advance. which is no big deal until you see the 18% party charge that is not gratuity! Then you show up and they want the rest of the 21.99 per person before you get started again no biggie until no one hangs around to help you out then it takes over an hour for them to start feeding people 2 at a time. faster if you help serve… by the time the first kid got food to eat everyone was hungry and asking for food. it took an hour from first to last to get served meanwhile any other food ordered was forgotten or they were out. No dough no chili at 11 am… then we had to go get plates and silverware to cut the cake after several guest went home before their food even came. No clean up during or enough tables to eat at. Not prepared or even remotely worth the cost! They did however take half off after I (the mother) flipped out because i was serving at a party i paid a lot of money to have these things taken care of. Last but not least they couldn’t find the ice cream bar they advertised so they brought stuff out after half the guest had left and the party was timed over. The staff was nice and tried to pull it off but very poorly prepared and under staffed. If your going to charge 800 dollars for 30 people i expect thing to go smoothly and not to have to serve hungry kids myself!

Well I have had my fair share of bad experiences with northglenn amf. Today was the last straw. As usual, I called to ensure they had open lanes to use my free league practice games. I was ensured by the manager that they would have lanes for an hour before they had to oil for league. Well I arrived and was very disappointed to find out they had no open lanes and wouldn’t give me one because the majority of the lanes had been oiled. I arrived at 4:30 when I was told they would t need them until 5:30. I understand league takes priority considering I am in multiple leagues myself. What really disappoints me is that not only was I lied to over the phone wasting gas driving 20 minutes each way, but the manager acted very sarcastically about his sympathy and acted like it really wasn’t a big deal that he lied and was unorganized. This was it for me, they’re midnight bowling is a terrible experience where they have no control over what is going on and how people are acting and now I can’t even bowl at a reasonable time anymore. Long story short if sonesta on 88^th and grant has open lanes, go there, you’ll be much happier in the long run…

If I could give this place a negative 5, I would.

I checked out Northglenn Lanes this evening. After an awesome visit at another AMF center in the area recently, I was anxious to see how this place compared.
I arrived at about 8:30pm to a full house of league bowlers, but by 9pm, the place was totally empty, and I was able to take advantage of the Monday night Dollar Mania special — $ 5 cover, $ 1 games, and $ 1 shoe rentals until closing. Definitely a good deal, as the going rate per game these days seems to be in the $ 5.25+ range.
This location had a unique split house design (some lanes on the left wall, and the rest on the mainstream back wall.) Lane conditions were just right, and there appeared to be a brand new scorekeeping system intact. It resembled a huge iPad, and allowed you to chat with other lanes, photograph yourself for your avatar, choose customized backgrounds and colors for your scorecard, teleconference with the front desk, the works.
I checked out the snack bar, and there were a couple of drink specials going on, although none of them really fit in. The $ 2 shots were limited to an oddball line of liqueurs that one wouldn’t normally order as a shot, such as Kahlua, Drambuie, and Blackberry Schnapps. Coors pitchers were a whopping $ 11.95 a pop. I had never heard of any of the $ 6 mixed drinks. After paying for a couple more games, I realized that I hadn’t been charged my $ 5 cover, and I got a friendly «don’t worry about it» from the manager. Score! So, after remembering I brought my own energy drink, I went with 2 shots of Absolut Citron. Total charge: $ 11.97. Oh well…
Definitely recommend, particularly on the nights with special rates. My only suggestions would be to maybe lower the alcohol prices a tad, and maybe put a 13 pounder in the lineup of house balls, as I didn’t see any.
UPDATE:
Had a second visit to check out the $ 2 Tuesday special — $ 2 shoe rentals, $ 2 games, and $ 2 PBR drafts from 8pm until closing. Unfortunately, the PBR keg was foamed to the max, and each round had to be poured, set aside to settle for a bit, and re-​poured as the foam disappeared. The waitress was cool about it all and hand delivered each round directly to my lane, but it seems like an aerator for the kegs might be the call, especially if PBR is on special. The place was empty on this particular visit, so I couldn’t imagine how hard it would be to accommodate the crowds with a foamy beer special if it was packed.

This bowling alley has been newly updated and it looks great! We had a great time here on New Year’s Eve and will be back. The old scoring system has been replaced with tablets that are easy to use and up with the times! I have always liked this bowling alley, but they needed the updated look. Pitcher’s of beer are a tad overpriced but the pizza was good and the staff was friendly. We will be back for sure!

Do not bring kids bowling here! The kids’ ball weight isn’t enough to trigger the auto reset. We bowled 3 frames in frustration. When we asked to switch lanes, we were told the same thing would happen all over. I’ve never seen such a thing!
Looks like it would be a great place for adult bowling. Shoes and ball were all new.
