It was cheap but good. I am a fan of cheap, hole in the wall dives and this one did not disappoint. The food was hot and fresh. The reason for the 3 stars instead of higher was that the TV was up loud and that the place was very cold. I don’t think I should have to eat with a coat on.

Their food is usually really good for the price… But one day I ordered some sesame chicken and bit into a small pebble rock. I think they might have dropped it on the ground and still served it. I was appalled. Will never go back!

The food here is delicious. This is the way chinese food should taste. The place is run down but we feel comfortable there because of the friendliness of the staff.

i went in expecting the normal dollar scoop, but what i got was far worse. we usually eat at Ho Mei, over on 88th and washington, and compared to Ho Mei, this place is garbage. they give about half the portions as Ho Mei(their meals cost $ 1-$ 5 more than ho mei, and you don’t get to choose between egg roll and wanton), and the food quality is Terrible. i ordered Beef and Broccoli, and Mongolian Beef, 80% of the«beef» was chicken, seasoned to look like beef, the other half was 2 – 3 day old«beef» that tasted soggy(spit it out and fed it to the dogs). i went in expecting to find my new place, but left with old fake food, and crappy boba(how do you mess up a boba smoothie you ask? well don’t ask me, ask them!). DONOTEATHERE. Edit: My wife got sweet n sour chicken, and sesame chicken, both were soggy and gross, and her noodles were soggy and gross. the only thing that i even remotely liked was the rice. the rest was just pure crap.

I got the chance to check out the Golden Scoop yesterday, as I was curious to see how it compared to the few other«(Insert Dollar/Cent Amount Here) And Up Scoop Shops» I’ve visited in the area. Definitely no complaints, as this one’s closest to the house. I arrived right at 10:30 am when they were just opening, which was awesome, as everything was really fresh. I went with a broccoli beef/fried rice/egg roll combo, and was pretty blown away that the grand total on the bill was only just over $ 5 with a canned drink and tax. Friendly employees, and a pretty typical take out atmosphere with lots of seats. There appeared to be a boba drink menu along with Chinese donuts, so those are going to be on the try list next trip for sure. Definitely recommend.

Wow! I was I not expecting much from this place, considering it’s a buffet type of deal. I was wrong! The quality will surprise you, especially for the price they offer. The quantity is not over quality this time. I had the sesame chicken and hot garlic chicken, fried rice. 5.71 was my total and was more than I could eat. Give this place a shot, chances are you will be as shocked as I am. ************************************************** UPDATE: So it seems this place has really become a hit and a miss. I usually order the sesame Chicken and for the most part its pretty good, but every once in a while it can be stale. Also, the customer service has tanked. They use to have a very nice lady in the front, who would be happy to swap you out the egg roll for a chedder pepper. Not anymore, the guy will tell you nope. Even though its just one pepper for a whole egg roll! He doesn’t seem like a very pleasant guy, and the food seems to have started to suffer too, in terms of quality.

Decent food but this place can be a bit deceiving. It is NOT one of those dollar scoop chinese takeout. Can be a bit pricey. We bought two # 1’s, a thai tea, and vietnamese dry noodle with pork. Total was almost $ 30. The only thing that I love about this place; Their chinese BBQ pork is super good. It is actually roasted whole before getting sliced, whereas other restaurants will chop up the pork and stir fry it in the red sauce(yuck).

I love this place for the price, for those who are unfamiliar with term«dollar scoop» it literally means ~$ 1.00 per scoop of food. The food is good and fresh, the portions are generous and the atmosphere is clean and bright. «Dollar Scoop» places are a dime a dozen, but Golden Scoop definitely is number one in my books. When I am craving cheap Americanized Chinese food I come to Golden Scoop. This is family owned restaurant and the staff is always super sweet and very nice. Definitely fast service and great food at VERY reasonable price. Check it out!

I know what you’re thinking — how can a place with«scoop» in the name merit four stars? But what you’re forgetting is that«Golden» is also in there, and for good reason. This unassuming Chinese restaurant serves up an array of tasty dishes that would take first in the Americanized Chinese food Olympics. I’ve tried just about everything they usually have on offer, and you really can’t go wrong. Savory, spicy, sweet, sour… the only regret you’ll have is they use a scoop instead of a wheel barrow to fill up your plate. Just ask for samples of whatever you’re interested in and craft your own ideal combo. As far as atmosphere goes, it’s clean and casual with few surprises. The TV in the wall is a nice perk when it’s quieter and the staff is all friendly and helpful. If you’re in the area and looking for a quick fix that can only be measured in scoops, Golden Scoop has your back.

I’m writing this review because I hope someone doesn’t make the same mistake I did ordering delivery from this place. I have never been inside, it was my first time eating/ordering here. The reason I ordered delivery is probably the same reason most people do. If I wanted to leave my house, I would have literally walked 3 minutes to the chinese place I usually go to. But on to the review. I ordered the Vegetable Lo Mein and asked if I could have fried tofu. She said yes. So then I ordered another entrée– Steamed veggies with tofu. She asked if I wanted sesame or just plain, I asked if Szechwan was available, she said yes but it wouldnt be fried like the kind in my lo mein. Thats fine. I love my veggies, which is why I ordered 2 veggie entrees. I also love tofu, as a vegetarian for 3 years now. She asked if I wanted steamed or fried rice, I said steamed please and then also got 2 diet cokes. So I wait for 45 minutes, finally delivery comes. I tip 25% like I always do. I open the bag, open up my rice, and its yellow/orange. GROSS. I open the lo mein, see some pieces of celery and noodles and call back to say they forgot my fried tofu. She tells me its at the bottom. I move the noodles, yup flattened, soggy, wet tofu with a crusty brown sauce. So I cant eat that. I move on to the steamed veggies. There are a few baby corn, some broccoli, but I’d hardly say steamed veggies. Again, mostly celery. And soggy tofu with the same brown sauce. Tasted like BBQ sauce. What is this? I tried the noodles, SALTY. Did I read no MSG? What? I’m confused. Absolutely disgusting. So basically I cant eat any of it So I call back and tell the person I spoke to, the same thing I typed here. She said whats the problem? Whats wrong with it? I tell her its not edible and I want my $ 20 back! I want to at least be refunded for the rice, which I didnt order, and the tip that cost a 1⁄3 of the food. She wants me to drive 20 minutes and bring her the trash(food) and she can maybe give me a refund. WHAT?! The whole point of delivery is to be home. Thats the point of me paying. Thats the point of an order limit and why I had to waste my money on 2 entrees. That I couldnt eat! I guess I just paid $ 20 for 2 diet cokes. Cool. If I ordered a disgusting pizza, Id be refunded immediately, & receive an apology, at the very least. Asians dont give refunds. I already knew that, but I thought maybe my $ 20 wasnt that important HAHA of course it is. Avoid ordering delivery from this awful place. Im out $ 20 and still starving, guess I’ll flip a coin and try another place.

Just the same as any other generic Chinese food, but this place is nice and close and tasty too! For the money it is defiantly worth the food.

Alright it is what it is. This is a cheap«dollar scoop» Chinese place. The prices here are a little high for dollar scoop, but that is OK. Because the quality here is pretty good. The food is actually pretty fresh. Esp if you go in at a normal eating time. I go here we I am craving Chinese which usually has to do with how poor I am at that moment. LOL. But I have never been let down by this place. I really do like the Egg Foo Yong. Never thought I would like that, but I like theirs a lot. So if you want good dollar scoop, check this place out. And to those snobs who never go to dollar scoop places… There is no difference between most of these places and other normal American Chinese food. They all use the same sources for ingredients. You just paid 3 times the cost for the other places.
