This might be a BBQ spot but don’t sleep on the Taco Tuesday menu. I just had the BBQ chicken taco and the Brisket Taco, both were Very Very good. The service was very good as well. I’ll be back tonight to try the BBQ. LOL

Love that there’s a BBQ place with a drive thru! I stopped by here for lunch and grabbed a piggie express, a pulled BBQ pork sandwich. The BBQ Sauce was great and they made it fairly quickly. I’ll definitely be stopping by again.

Not great, we really loved the BBQ sauce but the meat was so-so… our server was very sweet.

I give this place a solid«meh.» Everyone that works here looked absolutely miserable. We sat at the bar and the service was good. But watched the bartender do a couple Things that were questionable. The food is ok but WAY overpriced. Brisket for $ 19 a pound? Don’t not think I’ll be coming back here again…

We were greeted warmly and friendly by Jesse, whom was my server. Very quick and attentive. Very nice as well. The food was good, I wouldn’t say it’s great but I’d come back if I wanted BBQ. I got brisket with mashed potatoes and Mac, my son got Mac, and my husband got the Carolina sandwich. Brisket was good, there BBQ sauces are fantastic. Especially the mild one. Delicious. Mashed potatoes were creamy, I was hoping for more texture but still good. Mac was alright, very cheesy which is a plus. My hubby devoured that sandwich. Said It was a little dry but it was growing on him. The bread was good, but not hot. Overall, decent experience. Kinda pricey for BBQ but with Jesse as the server I don’t mind. He is one of the nicest server I’ve had. Main reason they get 4 stars instead of 3.

Here on a Monday night. Maybe 6 tables being served right now. Food was decent at best, but terrible service. We have been finished for 15 minutes, we wanted more drinks and dessert but ignored by the waiter. Our plates still not cleared off the table. Hoping to find a good bbq place around here but losing hope.

Very disappointing. I’ve heard good things about this place so I decided to check it out and it was pretty sad. The portions are small and the taste isn’t that great. If you want good BBQ try somewhere else, maybe Famous Daves. The bright side was that the employees were friendly.

Amazing BBQ! This place is awesome and friendly. I’ve been here a few times with friends and family and never had an issue. Most of their bbq menu is pretty good if you love bbq food. I’d recommend getting the brisket and lots of cheese muffins =) They have a friendly staff serving as well as a great staff that runs the drive through.

Food is great, place is clean, big portions. They also have a good selection of sides. I am shocked this is a chain. I have been here 3 times and each time was a good visit. Can get a little pricey but you get what you pay for. They give you enough meat on the combo plates to share. So you pick your two and they pick their two and then the trading begins. I don’t know what is in those muffins they serve prior to the meal but they are highly addictive. I will revisit when I’m back in town.

Pros — Service, was Great! Cons — I’ve eaten at many Bbq places and this is probably this was the smallest portions I have ever had at any Bbq place I have ever been to. Also the sauces were not very good compared to most places I felt as if they were lacking in flavor. Overall Great service — Portion sizes way to small! Hence the just Ok!

Man, I used to love Jim ‘N Nicks. Used to be the ONLYBBQ place I would eat at. A couple months ago we had a horrible experience at the Northfield location, the one we go to most. The food was really bad, there was even piece of a glove in our meat. And to top it all off it took FOREVER to get out of the place. The manager finally came over and explained that he just took over and he sees a lot of things that need to change. Gave us his card and asked us to return and give them another chance. Onto this Tuesday. I went to this location for a quick lunch break and knew exactly what I wanted. They seated me and a server even said hi on the way in. I logged in to their wifi, checked messages, played a little game. Then I realized, I had been there 12 minutes. Not a glass of water, not a word from a waiter/waitress, nothing. So for the next couple minutes I made eye contact with everyone who came anywhere near my table. None of them even asked a thing. So, I got up and walked out. I will never go there again. I can’t stand apathetic service.

We moved from Texas, so we I guess had a bit of a high expectation on BBQ food. The staff was good and the cheese muffins were great. We ordered the spare ribs but needed to put extra sauces from our table on it, which I found defeated the purpose of eating good marinated ribs. They were a bit on the dry side. My wife was not too thrilled about her pork sandwich as well. She was happy eating the mashed potatoes more… We will definitely be looking for another good BBQ place.

My wife chose to go to Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q because they had just opened up by our house and she was celebrating the end of a 10-month intensive Certified Medical Assistant program. Walking in the place looked like a fun place to eat and hang out. The aroma in the air was great. I was looking forward to some great barbecue. The staff gave us a friendly greeting and we were seated right away. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. First, we ordered drinks. My wife asked for an Appletini. The waitress checked with the bartender who said he could make it. We were told that he could. I ordered one of their specialty drinks. We actually watched the drinks get made and then we waited… and waited… and waited. We finally asked for our drinks and pointed out that we had watched them be made and then watched them sit for quite a while on top of the bar. When we got them we found that both of the drinks were disappointing. Although some people would probably consider it a plus, both drinks we overpowered by the alcohol. For example, my wife’s appletini tasted like straight vodka with green coloring. She couldn’t taste any apple flavor at all(and neither could I when I tried it). My drink just tasted like whiskey. The waitress brought out some cheese muffins for us. We found those to be excellent. To be honest, we liked them so much we have gone back and gotten takeout orders of them. The other thing we enjoyed was our appetizer: nachos with pulled pork. We asked for them with salsa on the side and they came with the salsa poured on top. We sent then back and they got them right the second time. We found that the blend of the nachos, lettuce, cheese and the great smoky meat was very good. Unfortunately, when our food arrived we were disappointed. My wife and daughter decided to share a platter of baby back ribs. They were black, dry and so smoky as to be inedible. My youngest didn’t even like their mac and cheese: she found it to be bland. I must admit that I did like the brisket and sausage on my platter but not much else. To their credit, the manager comped our entire meal. He tried the ribs we had and said that they shouldn’t have been served. He asked us to wait and he brought us some more ribs, just to sample, from the kitchen. They were much better than what we had been served. Unfortunately, we were put off by the earlier disappointments so we left. When we went in June, this restaurant had only recently opened. I know that new places sometimes have growing pains and I hope that’s what we experienced. We might be inclined to give them a try sometime in the future but we probably won’t be going back anytime soon.

Nice upscale BBQ joint. Real pit BBQ with a nice smoky flavor, but a tad on the dry side. I had the pulled pork and brisket with a side of their highly recommended Mac & Cheese. The real stand-out for me was the sweet tea. Best sweet tea I’ve had outside of Georgia. Perfect sweetness … tasted just like my mom’s. What I noticed but didn’t try on this visit … but what will definitely bring me back … is their extensive bourbon and whiskey menu. Clearly a focus for their bar. Yes, this is an unexpected haven for whiskey connoisseurs.

Great place for Beer &BBQ. The minute you walk in you are greeted by a hostess with a big smile. You are then seated and introduced to your waitress(I would say waiter or waitress, but did not see one man). You’re given 3 menus(I think 2 to many). And then the waitress comes out with these heaven pillows(little cornbread rolls). The beer choices was different then mist and I was so very greatful. I settled on 90 Shillings by O’Dell. On the menu everything sounds so good it was hard to settle on. I chose the 1920 Hamburger and fries. The hamburger was a disappointment. The hamburger meat was unflavored and it came medium and I requested Medium Well. The fries was crispy, hot and we’ll seasoned. They weren’t over cooked but just extra crispy. The waitress checked on me about 4 times. That was great service and she was very polite. I would try this place again.

I’ll make this quick, unlike my experience. Went through the drivethru late at night, ordered piggy potatoe or something like that. Wife ordered chicken strips. Got to the window and paid, several minutes past and a guy comes to the window and says it’s going to be another 8 – 10 minutes for the strips becasue they are made to order. So we sat. 10 minutes later we get the food and hurry off to our engagment, halfway there my wife realizes that rather than giving her fresh fries they packed her fries and let the wait the 10 – 12 minutes as well. Stone cold. Needless to say it was a pretty bad experience and the food was medeocore. Probably won’t be back anytime soon.

I am a Fan. Went in during Happy Hour. Cocktail prices arent half bad. Especially if you order the cocktail of the day. Good, Fast and Friendly Service. The cheese muffins they bring you. Wow I could fill up on just those alone. I went with the Rib Meal, with the Two Sides. Baked Beans And Coleslaw. Delicious. And the ribs were tender and packed with meat and little fat. Not sure why such Low reviews. Jim N Nicks is great and Beats out Famous Daves in my opinion.

This place was meh. We had high hopes for a new BBQ place opening in the area, but it did not deliver. To be somewhat fair we did takeout… so the food was lukewarm and steamed with condensation by the time we got home. But I am not sure fresh would help the flavor, just the presentation. I had the smoked ham because I saw it on the menu and craved it. It was lacking any real unique flavor characteristics and the sauce was weak… like a watered down ketchup. The collard greens were undercooked and underseasoned, and the mashed potatoes and gravy were just ok. The wife had the smoked buffalo wings, which weren’t too bad but there was at least one that was underdone. Her BBQ chips were pretty good. The child had the Chicken Tender plate which was unfortunately the star of the evening. They were moist and tender with just the right amount of breading, seasoning and frying. The Mac & Cheese was so so and the coleslaw was average. All in all this place was… meh. Yeah… I really can’t find a better word. Probably will not be back.
