I decided to pop into this local hardware store instead of going to Lowe’s because… well, I just thought I could make my trip out for Mineral Spirits a little more interesting. Can a hardware store be charming? If so, this fits the bill. There’s something cozy about the organized chaos that greets you when you come into the door. The workers also greet you, something that I personally appreciate after working several years in a small retail business. The staff led me exactly where I needed to go and even struck up a little small talk. You won’t get that at a big box store. They seem to have a very large selection of supplies. I’d definitely head back here next time I need something.

Awesome Mom & Pop hardware store, which sadly there are too few of remaining. Great place to get nails, screws, or seeds in bulk, or just a handful at a time. Unlike the big box stores, you don’t have to buy in their precalcuated profit maximizing quantities(who needs six O-rings at a time!?). Great place to come and support local business.

This is the sort of hardware store I love. It’s the kind of place where if they don’t have it, you probably don’t need it. The staff here has always been incredibly friendly to me. They are very helpful, and once even did some light leather work for me at no charge.(The guy apparently needed an excuse to go out to the workshop in back, and have a cigarette, & I got the added bonus of him showing me an old Black and Decker electric drill from 1923, that he was restoring.)
