Great coffee in Northport! I love the toasted marshmallow latte.

Nice building, but the locals eat across the street at Barb’s. Oh, maybe if Barb’s is closed you’ll see some locals here, but this is essentially just a fudgie trap. They do have a variety of baked goods and sandwiches, but I believe they are all sourced elsewhere(e.g., Trish’s Dishes, etc.) rather than being made here… or made that day. My sandwich was soggy and stale. Tough to justify paying $ 2.95 for a 2-day-old cinnamon roll when $ 1 will get you an excellent one baked that morning at Barb’s.

The building was really cool and the coffee was great too! We enjoyed the building more than anything else.

Nice selection of scones, muffins, bagels, etc in a quaintly decorated, beautifully restored building complete with waterwheel. The dull teenage help needs some serious upgrade, but the coffee and atmosphere is simply fine. WIFI in Northport!

Had an americano and a bagel with butter. They forgot to give me my bagel after having trouble with their cash register. A quick reminder to the friendly staff and all was well. The coffee was fine. Maybe a bit on the watery side.

We discovered Kamp Grounds on a wintry Sunday morning when we visited Barb’s Bakery in Northport intending to eat breakfast there and found the place closed for the season. We noticed activity in the large lodge-ish building just across the street, and discovered that it was the actual old Northport millhouse, turned into a wedding/party rental hall, with a small café’ tucked into one end. As luck would have it, this was the last day of business for them before their spring vacation. The place was packed with locals. Table seating is very limited, but diners can also sit at bars along the windows, enjoying the view of this quaint village, or else enjoy their coffee and baked goods in a large adjoining room featuring a beautiful fireplace, cottage furniture and lots of local photography. Kamp’s also offers takeout baked goods and retail coffees and teas. We ordered cherry scones and coffee and retired to comfy seats near the fireplace. The baked goods were fresh, rich and delicious, and if desired diners can order them accompanied by clotted cream, lemon curd or other yummy additions. The coffee was also very good.(We had it plain, but you can order a variety of specialty coffee drinks, as well as teas, juices or, I think, smoothies.) Eavesdropping on conversations, we could tell that this was a popular gathering place for village year-rounders as well as visitors. The former are a friendly bunch — a nice lady even came up to us and invited us to the village movie night that evening at the school! Northport is one of the most genuine and laid-back communities on the Leelanau… I can definitely imagine spending a nice vaycay right in the village and alternating breakfasts at Kamp Grounds and Barb’s across the street.
