Publix Super Markets

There is no store here so it is too short to post so here is some more verbiage.
But still no store here.

This is the most convenient Publix for me and it has always been the grocery store I’ve shopped at exclusively. However, I have had it with their deli department. You would think by 5:00 p.m. on any given week night they would have food prepared but several times I have gone in to get rotisserie chickens and they would tell me it would be an hour or sometimes even two hours before anymore would be ready. My husband and I both have called and complained to different managers with promises that they would see to the problem. Last night was the last straw. I went in at 5:00, straight to the deli and there were none ready. When I asked the lady about them she replied that it would be 26 minutes before they would be ready. I did the rest of my shopping (a complete buggy full) and headed back to the deli with six minutes to spare. Once I got back, there were people standing everywhere waiting on food. When the buzzer went off on the rotisserie, the cook very unapologetically replied it would be 15 more minutes. Needless to say, I pushed the buggy full of groceries back to the manager-​less service department and walked out of that Publix for my last time.

I love Publix. I don’t really like this one. Not through any fault of their own. Maybe the location is just «too good». It’s always crowded… from the parking spot to the lines. The traffic at this intersection is nuts. For that reason, I usually shop at one of the Tuscaloosa Publixes (Publix’? Publie?). But still… as always, this Publix is well kept, with friendly workers and good prices.

Publix reminds me of the way grocery stores were when I was a kid. They act like they care that you shop with them. If they don’t have an item you like, they will get it. (even if they have to buy it from somewhere else just to have it for you) Their selection is good on most things, not a big fan of the meat dept. (I like my steaks cut thicker than what they put in the case) You can ask them to special cut the steaks, but that takes a little extra time and they are not really butchers, just meat cutters. (there is a difference)

The employees here are especially friendly. There are more than willing to help you find items in the store. Store is very clean. Prices are a little high sometimes, but they have awesome sales. Too bad everyone has jumped on the extreme couponing wagon; they are often out of sale items from people stockpiling. This can be pretty disappointing, which you are just going in to pick up a few sale items, and they are out of almost everything.
