Amazing Escape Room

As escape rooms go, Amazing Escape Room doesn’t wow nor terribly disappoint.
I was part of a group of 6 that did Roaring 20s, Desert Storm, and Black & White Room. For the most part the rooms are sparsely populated with clues/​puzzles, and most activity is linear, which left a good bit of time when one or more in our group had nothing to do while puzzles were being solved. We escaped from all 3 (oddly, having the most difficulty with 20s [rated easiest], and least with Black/​White [rated hardest])
On the whole, I enjoyed the experience, but probably wouldn’t return for the newer rooms (assuming they are situated similarly) unless it would be possible to do with a smaller group (3 – 4 people).

Such a fun experience. I went with a group of four and we did the roaring 20’s. The staff was really friendly. It’s a fun experience for anyone of any age. You find clues in order to try to escape from the room that you’re in. Without giving any spoiler alerts, you can ask for clues if you’re stuck and I definitely suggest that so you’re not stuck on something for too long. It was my first time doing something like this and we ended up escaping! Can’t wait to try more!

This is a great place to go with friends. My only suggestion would be (and I am not sure if they actually allow it or not– if they do I apologize for writing this) to allow fewer people into the room, since having more than four people creates chaos. Inevitably two or three members will feel left out.
But other than that, the themes and ideas are great, the puzzles were clever and the staff was nice, helpful and enthusiastic.

Meh. Some of the rooms are ok. Other rooms are poorly designed. Bad flow of puzzles in each room.
While I’m glad we have an escape room in Northridge I hope this one gets better.

We did the black and white room and escaped!!! It was so fun and we definitely had an advantage playing with a bigger group (7). We’ll be back for sure to play a different room!

what a completely thrilling and mesmerizing experience. we did the black-​and-​white room which is mathematically heavy with the rigorous puzzles, we had no clue where to start but we almost escaped if we had another five minutes.
this was such a fun and unique experience. It’s nice to get together with a group of your friends and actually use your brains without relying on a cell phone. I definitely want to come back and do this again.

We had a great time here! The staff was great, we went into the «starlight lounge» room and it was excellent.
I’d suggest going into a room with just your party, working with people you don’t know would be weird. .
Some of the clues were difficult but over all excellent night out.
I’d recommend this escape room to anyone!

So much fun! I want to come back and try all of the rooms. We did the black and white room which was mostly logic problems, we came with some people that didn’t speak English but this room was great for that type of thing. Thank you and we will definitely be back to try the new room soon!

This was my first time at Amazing Escape Room. It was pretty frustrating. I came with 3 other people to do the Operation Desert Storm room.
The room was okay, and the clues were all pretty relevant to the theme, but there where way two many people in the room to effectively enjoy it. The other group we paired with took everything so seriously, and pretty much took over the whole thing. Some of the clues are linear, and the size of the clue limited how many people could actually work on it, so it pretty much turned into 2 – 3 people working on a clue while everyone else watched.
What really sucked was the end. We just found the last clue with about 13 minutes left on the clock. We got to work trying put it all together, when a staff member came over the intercom and started giving clues without us asking. She didn’t stop either. She just kept going, basically giving away the whole thing. We had almost 10 minutes left when the door opened. It kind of ruined the point of it all.
I’ll be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

Like others that have reviewed this venue, I purchased a Groupon for two people that included an hour-​long escape room experience with our choice between 4 to 5 different room themes. Their website is really easy to book on and to change and cancel a time if you need to. We had to change the time and date around a couple times and were able to do so with ease. Their website also includes descriptions and reviews of each room from people who have tried them out which helped us decide which room to pick. After some research we decided on the Operation Desert Storm theme. When we arrived we were a little unsure as to where the venue was because we surrounded by business units but once we entered the main building we found it with ease.
Check in was fast and simple. We signed a waiver agreement and were on our way into the room without having to wait. During the time that we were in the room a woman over loud speak would occasionally chime in to ask if we wanted a clue or to let us know if we close to solving the next piece. Clues and and the time remaining were posted on a TV mounted in a corner which was helpful in allowing us to keep track of how much time we had left. During the first 15 minutes we were completely our own where we did not receive any communication from the person helping us. This allowed us to get a good feel for what we were working with and to try to find a starting point on our own. We liked all the different components and puzzles that the room entailed. We truly had to think outside the box and work together to get things done. It was a true test of our communication proficiency with each other and overall we felt good about our progress, even though we ran out of time.
Once time was up, the person helping us through the hour showed us the one last step we ran out of time for and unlocked the door for us. Reflecting back, if I had to change anything it would be to include more mental puzzles and less puzzles that were time consuming and only required that we be able to find tiny objects in the room. Locating objects in obscure places was probably the more tedious of the tasks we were given. Other than that, we had a great time and were both in agreement that trying to escape with more people than just the two of us would have been difficult for communication reasons and because many of the tasks seemed more fitted for two people to work through. We are curious to try the other rooms like the Roaring 20’s and Starlight Lounge and will be keeping an eye out for another Groupon deal in the future.

Brilliant! The puzzles reminded me of an old card games named Mind Trap. What a mind binder. I have played 2 rooms here and have been impressed by the cleverness on both occasions. Bravo!

Bought a Groupon for boyfriend and I to do this on a Friday night and we had a blast! I recently introduced my other half to this new hype and now he is all for it! I’ve done many escape rooms in the past but this one is definitely one of my favorite.
We did the «Roaring 20’s» and it was quite challenging. We got teamed up with 2 other couples and we worked well as a team. Teamwork is the key! The staffs are super friendly, and the business is well organized. Just a note, there’s people listening to you at all times, which is a good thing because they know when you’re actually stuck, everything is done through intercom so it saves times to wait around for them to come in and throw us the clue. 60 minutes is what you get so make sure to think outside the box at all times. Also, DO NOT leave purses on any flat surfaces girls. Just put your purse down by the door on the floor so you are not possibly blocking any clues.
Did we escaped? Yes we did! with 1:46 left… Yep, so close but we did it!

What a Fun, Fun, Fun place!!! Had such an amazing time here. I was mind blown, frantic, upset, happy, and just full of adrenaline! From the min we started to the very last minute I was on a rushhhhh! Unfortunately we didn’t escape but that’s okay we were one clue away and besides it was only 2 of us but all in all we had a blast!!!
Making reservations was a very easy process. They were able to get us in right away at a perfect time. We went on a weekday so it’s not as busy as a weekend so make sure to call ahead if your booking on a weekend. Christian was very helpful when it came to making the reservation as well as when we first entered the facilty. He explained the rules and we signed waivers. In addition, he explained the do’s and dont’s and pretty much what to expect.
There is someone watching and listening to you at all times. It’s helpful as you can get a certain number of clues and at anytime you can escape by pressing the button.
First off no phones allowed so its just you and your brain. The clues can be tricky but some can literally be right in front of you. I won’t say what room we did. I definitely would love to do another room and I am going to make sure I escape!!!
Oh and afterwards you can take pictures with their props it’s pretty entertaining and a lot of fun.
I highly recommend this place. I will be back for sure!
Lastly I leave you with 5 simple tips:
1. Use the bathroom before you start as you will be locked in the room for at least 60mins unless you escape.
2. No cell phone use don’t cheat
3. Come with a group of 4 or more its more fun when your working together
4. Have Fun and Work together!

Took a few friends here for their first escape room experience. We all left pretty disappointed.
We went for the Black and White Room. The puzzles were more difficult and complex, but not in a good way. The puzzles didn’t seem to flow very well with the room. It was mostly math problems. We tried asking for hints and the hints from the staff just weren’t helpful in helping us solve the room.
The staff were nice and they were patient with us. It was clear that members of our group were getting increasingly frustrated and the staff was good at keeping their cool.
I haven’t tried the other rooms, but if you’re coming here I would not recommend doing the Black and White Room.

This was my second escape room experience and first time at Amazing Escape Room.
My group did the Black and White room. It was pretty challenging. We had to ask for all 3 clues, which is the max. I felt like the staff was very generous with the clues, which led us to be successful in escaping. I still have mixed feelings about this. The room itself I think would be a perfect fit for 4 people, we had 7. I can see 8 max being a good fit if the clues could be solved non-​sequentially but that wasn’t the case, each clue unlocked the next one. I didn’t like that we had to solve clues in order to move on to the next because some of us just had to sit back and let others try to solve the clue. I didn’t come to watch someone else do it, I imagine everyone participating wants to do just that, participate.
The staff was very friendly and inviting. The only thing I think they can improve on is slowing down a little with the instructions and when giving clues to be more specific and not having to keep adding on to their explanation of the clue. Aside from that, our interaction with the staff members was great.
Overall it was a fun experience and I will probably try to escape a different room, but only if I am able to get a coupon code off Groupon or some other site.
Word of advice:
Come 10 – 15 minutes early.
No need to worry about parking as they have their own parking lot which is convenient.
Use the bathroom before getting locked in.
Work as a team and don’t go crazy/​frantic.
Don’t hog everything lol.

It was a good time! The staff are great people!

This was my first escape room experience, and TBH it frustrated me more than excited me. Maybe just a personal preference. We came close to finishing the Roaring 20’s room, with several hints given to us, but I really don’t see how all the puzzles can be solved in 60 minutes without the help of clues from the staff.
The staff were really, really nice though. They allowed us to change our reservation and were very helpful before and during the experience. They take a group picture afterwards and post it on their FB page.
The escape room is an interesting place to take a group of coworkers or family members, but even with a Groupon deal it can be a bit pricey.

Definitely Amazing! I’m a big fan of «Escape the…» games online and to learn there was a live version blew my socks off. I convinced my rather skeptical mother to go with me and try the roaring 20’s and it was intense and fantastic. We had four other people in the room with us, but despite our efforts were unable to solve it!
I don’t want to give anything away (you can read other people for that if you want to know more) because I think it’s great to go and be completely surprised if you’ve no idea what it is. Just go see!

SERVICE FOR THE WIN!!! No, really, Nicole was UH-​MAZE-​INGGG!
We went to The Amazing Escape Room on Wednesday night. The night before I had experienced my 1^st type of Escape Room style games. I had so much fun, I was obsessed. On Wednesday I immediately told my law school friends about it & they said it sounded fun. So, I went onto Groupon & found one in Northridge! Awesome!
I called with my voucher & spoke with Nicole. She was EXTREMELY accommodating & just down to earth! I TRIED to book a reservation for 10 pm, right after our Evidence class. However, she told me that unfortunately someone had called in sick & there were no game masters available for 10 pm!
Oh no! *insert sad face* I was very sad because I had hyped this game up so much to my friends that they were excited. Nicole put me on hold & tried really hard to make it work. To keep this review short, poor thing (AND YET AWESOME!) agreed to stay herself (even though she would be off work at this point) so that my group could have some fun after a hard nights class.
To say that Nicole is awesome is pretty much an understatement. She informed me that she did not have a car that night (& it was a chilly one!) & yet, she still stayed for our group!
Our group was SO excited. We got there after class & we had a BLAST!
Location: very accessible, ample parking, easy to find.
The game: we did the roaring 20’s room. So, what happens when you lock 4 law school students in a room & tell them to escape? They don’t. Instead, they argue. Lol! It was a tough room! After we failed to escape, she allowed us to stay in there & continue solving it. She then explained to us the order of things.
This location gives you up to 3 clues. Yeaahhhh… We used them. Haha!
We had a BLAST! We are already planning our next escape ;)

We did the roarong 20’s room. You need to be both clever and literal to solve the puzzles for the clues. Owner did a great job creating and testing the room. There was only 1 puzzle I felt was way too hard but the room guide was able to hibt us through it.
The owner is a great guy! Very outgoing and proud of his business. The entire place is cleand and very organized.
Great date place. We will be returning to escape the other rooms.
