I enjoyed eating here! There was no wait and it was delicious! We had 2 lbs of shrimp and 1 lb of snow crab legs in garlic butter! Everything tasted fresh and delicious! The garlic bread was addicting especially dipped in the sauce. They had top 40 songs playing and it was an unexpected surprise and my kids loved it. Will definitely come back!

I love this restaurant and so does my gf. This is the place to go to get your grub on for Cajun food with very reasonable prices. Super close to Cal State Northridge and plenty of seating if you have big groups. The food taste awesome and the place is very clean. The owner, Master Ma, keeps this place in tip top shape. The only downfall is the location can be a bit hidden. But it has a great open parking lot.

First, the shrimp and snow crab legs were good. The 1 star is due to the horrible management. The crawfish was disgusting, and our waitress told us it would«taste like shrimp»(completely misleading). The owner came around to our table and we told him that we did not eat the crawfish, and asked if we could replace it with shrimp or get it comp’d. He refused to do both and insisted on how«fresh» the crawfish was and proceeded to explain the whole process of how he procures his seafood. Anyway, he ended up not wanting to take it back or replace with another dish. He also said he didn’t care about the customer nor did he think Unilocal reviews were important. Ha! You’re better off going to boiling crab in Westwood, it’s worth it.

The only way I could come back here is if I ordered alcohol… and a lot of it! Came here on a Friday night after seeing the horrendous 2 hours wait for 2 people at Kickin Kaisan. This restaurant had absolutely no wait, so I was pleased. However… SERVICEWASEXTREMELYSLOW! it took a very long time for anybody to come to our table to get drink orders. It took almost an hour for our food to come out. There was only one other couple in the entire restaurant and our order was very straight forward. Ridiculous! On top of that. I ordered the extra hot sauce on the side. A man. must have been the owner of the place or something, came up to our table and condescendingly said«You can’t eat that! That is too spicy. Let me see you eat it. «It sounded like he was challenging me. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I was getting a little annoyed, so to get him to butt out of my business, I dipped my shrimp in the hot sauce and ate it. He then proceeded to grab one of my fries off of my plate… without asking… and dipped it into MYSAUCE. WTF.?! I was so grossed out. Ugh. I AMNEVERCOMINGBACK!

Came over on a night because«Kickin Kasian» had a long line. The location here is pretty bad because it deserves a better spot! If you come at night, it looks fantastic. It has disco lights and surprisingly, the benches or chairs are un-fittingly nice for the food item. Now, the most important part is the food. We stayed to the safe side by ordering shrimp. I would not recommend the Garlic Butter especially after you try the better one which is the YoMix flavor. It is much better. The Cajun fries are ok. Services was a bit slow that day. However, the man who served us is very polite and courteous. In fact, his attitude is the probably the reason I turned this to be originally a four for food into an overall five.

Where do I start?!? Food was good. Service was ok. Walking in and realizing it was EMPTY we didn’t feel like walking out(we should have) and thought we give this place a chance as the reviews were not too bad. Prices on the lighted board is deceiving!!! When I questioned whom I believe is the owner, he explained You only get a discount after you check in and review on your next visit!!! Not to mention prices are more expensive then that fantastic joint called Kickin Kasian down the road. Rather wait in line for hours where everything is consistently great from service to food at KK. And the highlight from our experience he was yelling profanities(F Word) at some guy walking outside his restaurant. I was with my 13 yr and 10 yr old daughters and they looked at me in total disbelief. First and last time here.

Hey, pay attention… this is not a Cajun(New Orleans style) restaurant. This is an asian restaurant, possibly chinese or korean. For that matter, it’s not much of a restaurant at that. They serve a number of different shellfish — by the pound. No veggies, no sides, just shellfish by the pound. I’m not sure where they got their name from. I ordered a pound of shrimp to go, with garlic and butter, and requested they go light on the butter. This request seemed to be a challenge and, when I got the shrimp, sure enough, they were soaked in butter. The illuminated menu /price board listed the dish at 12.99(or 12.95), but mentioned that ‘reviewers’ could get it for $ 2 less. I inquired about this and the gentleman said he needed to change that sign. I paid $ 14 plus change, including the tax, so clearly no discount — but he is getting this review! Finally, the shrimp were whole shrimp. I don’t mean to whine, but I really don’t like cleaning the shrimp as it gets very messy. My clothes and tablecloth at home were stained. Plus, a pound of whole shrimp is not very many. Clean the shrimp please!

Service sucks, very slowwwwwwwww. I wanted to try just to satisfy cravings. Ordered a dozen raw oysters and it came after 30 minutes. Its not like they cook it, right? Decided to order a dozen more and the wait was still foreverrrrrrrrrrrr. There were only 6tables filled with 2−3people max per table. The owner(i guess) came to us and introduced his sauce made for the oysters. He shook the squeezable bottle(whatever you call it) while his index finger is covering the opening on top. How sanitary, right? And was really pushy for us to try it. Not to be rude we let him pour some on one of the oyster. So nasty! I dont know how they were able to get an «A» rating. Needless to say he smelled like he just came from a smoke break, he smelled like cigarettes. How professional is that? Total wasted time in there 1hour &45minutes, with only raw oysters ordered.

My first time was today and I really enjoyed it! I ordered snow crab legs and my brother ordered a pound of shrimp. Fries and corn was also ordered. Everything was flavorful and yummy! Corn was only half a cob, FYI. I usually have a dipping butter but with these crab legs I didn’t need them! Will definitely be going back with friends! The same guy everyone reviews about was there by himself but he was nice and friendly and seemed to manage well on his own. There is a table in the middle that has a lot of utensils and self serve items(including water) you can get yourself. Two groups came in while we were there and he maintained good service and upbeat attitude. He might be the owner and good for him trying to make a living. No reason to be hard on the guy. Overall I enjoyed myself and will be returning!

** Repost from Café Jungle’s review… Since I guess they go by both Café Jungle and Cajun Boing Crab I’m giving this place a review because I feel like the previous reviewers just didn’t really get what this place is about. Yes, when I first walked in here I thought it was the weirdest thing to have both sushi and a Boiling Crab type of restaurant. I haven’t tried their sushi, but I have tried their Cajun shrimp(like Boiling Crab). I usually get a half pound or full pound of shrimp with all the seasonings(the whole sha-bang? I’m not sure if that’s what Café Jungle calls it) and the most spiciest, and honestly this place is really not that bad! If you’re in the valley and not down to wait at Kickin Kasian, I really recommend this place. I personally think Kickin Kasian is a little too oily and masked with too much garlic. Café Jungle’s broth is a lot more thicker and flavorful so that’s good. Their Cajun fries are also really good and I always make sure to get rice to eat with the yummy Cajun broth/sauce. Also, the owner of the restaurant is very nice! They are a bit under staffed due to low business, but I really do believe they deserve more recognition. Maybe it’s the location, but the owner did say he would love to have more workers if it wasn’t for the business. And just as a fun fact, the owner said he actually uses Boiling Crab’s secret recipe with his own little kick to it! Whenever you’re feeling Boiling Crab or the wait is too long at Kickin Kasian, I truly recommend this place!

The food is very good here. That being said, there is literally ONE person who works there. He runs the entire place. Accordingly, expect quite a wait for EVERYTHING, including your check. He also forgets to bring you what you ordered(he forgot to bring us 3 – 4 different items). What’s worse is that he acted offended/rude when we asked about these items after not receiving them. I would come here again only to avoid the roaches at Kickin KAsian, but I would try to come during off hours so not to stress this guy out. We were here for more than 2 hours(a party of 4) and the last 30 minutes consisted of us sitting waiting for the check(we didn’t want to piss him off by asking for it more than once). Would I recommend this place? Yes, but there is a fat asterisk; when you come here, you are walking into HIS house and you are eating on HIS time.

Boiling crab!!! No. Not quite. While the food is not all that different. Our experience could have been better. Service: eh. Not horrible? We came in and the waitress, who wasn’t necessarily unfriendly, looked at us while she was on the phone and there was no one otherwise to greet us. She should have at least signaled us something showing that she would be right with us. Next thing, don’t be surprised if you aren’t given a bib. Though it should be standard, you seem to have to ask for them here. She was friendly and all. But she needs to tend to customers a bit better. Owner is friendly but needs to check the quality of his food. Food: could be better if they tasted it! Overall the food was okay. Maybe it was just us, but their combo seasoning(forgot what they called it) was pretty salty. Had it not been salty I would say it almost tasted like boiling crab. As for the freshness, the shrimp were frozen. But not mushy. For market price, they probably could have provided larger shrimp. Sausage and corn were both good, again a bit salty. Catfish wasn’t bad, not the freshest either but I liked the batter. Fries were kind of squishy, but well seasoned for people who like that. Ambiance: interesting. Feels like being in a Korean karaōke bar? I felt confused because it seemed like I should be ordering soju and beer. Overall it wasn’t bad though, not loud. But they weren’t exactly busy. Overall it’s not a bad option, but I think kickin kasian(which always over cooks my shrimp) is sightless better on the flavor part. We may be back. And order less salty.

Generally I have another asian cajun seafood place I go to, but the wait was 80 minutes. I had seen Cajun Boiling Crab before and decided to check it out as I was definitely craving some good cajun seafood. Went in on a Sunday evening around 8 and the two waiters were very friendly and helpful, I was seated right away. The restaurant itself was a little quiet with 1 – 2 other parties finishing up their meals. I got to be the only table in the restaurant for a bit and it was pretty cool. Since the other two parties left and were essentially«after work» dinners, the owner turned on all the cool light displays and tossed some music on. He even came by and we chatted for a bit about The Count of Monte Cristo(I was there on my own and brought the physical book as I was re-reading it). Overall a super cool guy. When the restaurant filled up with many couples on dates, the atmosphere was still chill and somewhat quiet. Very easy to keep reading and munching on food without getting distracted by noise levels. The bottom line is that the owner is incredibly friendly and relaxed, and that the atmosphere is stellar. The interior design of the restaurant is something you would expect out of a high class sushi bar.(Ironically, their sushi bar will be open in about a week or so) Moving onto the food itself I ordered a pound of dungeoness crab with mild spices from the YO!!! mix and some cajun fries. The fries were perfectly seasoned and very much delectable without ketchup. They should be illegal with ketchup, they taste too good that way! The crab itself was super good too. All of the legs were very thick, meaty parts and the provided scissors made getting through the shell a breeze. — First seafood restaurant I have ever been to where the scissors actually had an edge to them! - When I got to the last couple of legs at the bottom of the«pail» they give out, I found that all the seasoned broth/spice water mix was very hot, meaning the crab was very hot, which went well with the great flavor from the YO mix. Overall, Cajun Boiling Crab has very much stepped into the spotlight as my favorite restaurant, and I expect to be coming back soon! As soon as I left I was calling my friends to get together for dinner here. Can’t wait to go back UPDATE I went back a second time tonight and ordered two pounds of green muscles with YO mix and medium spiciness. They were exceptional and the spice was perfect.

Shrimp is pretty good, oysters are ok, and the cajun fries are lacking a bit. Overall it’s decent. Still not comparable to Boiling Crab but it is to Kickin Kasian that’s down the street! Only thing this place is missing are the add-ons that Kickin Kasian has. Can’t leave out the quail eggs! Lol Btw, there’s karaōke. Came here at night and was completely surprised with their music. Literally LOL!

I couldn’t finish writing my review in time so it saved before I could finish but I wanted to add detail to my review just to give you a CLEAR understanding of how Awful THISPLACEIS! And to confirm what a lot of other Unilocalers had to say! MY family and I walk in and I immediately notice this sign close to the floor that read Cash Only and the guy who I would later find out to be the manager says ‘Oh no don’t worry about it, that’s only for the bad people’ we all kinda look at each other and mutter bad people? but continue. .
We order a pound of shrimp, fried oysters, apound of(what was listed as) the Cajun sausage, corn, and the boiled potatoes. We ask our server to go inquire about the price of the dungenous crab, since it’s market priced at 15.99 pd. We wanted to get an idea of our damage.. He left, came back like 5 min later with a price of $ 25 and we ordered that too. He also then tells us that they didn’t have the potatoes that day, so we ordered potato wedges. Food comes out. Fried oysters come out, sausage, then shrimp. The Cajun sausage is actually chopped up Hilshire Farms with the seasoning on it, we ask the server and he confirms it. The oysters are like these seriously disgusting breaded frozen slim salty little. You haven’t tasted gross til you take a bite of hot on the outside frozen in the inside oysters(shudders).ugggh. The shrimp comes in a tiny bowl of 16TOTAL and OBVIOUSLY not a pound. The crab comes out last and I’m done! Out comes this sad ashy crab with garlic thrown on top. I take a good look at my neighbors crab legs and notice that they look like the super cheap frozen red Crab that they sale in the deep freeze at Galleria Market. I ask for the manager! I point out the fact that my Cajun Sausage, that he’d chopped beyond recognition was Hilshire rope sausage and showed him the rounded corners they he had neglected to chop, I pointed that it’s wrong to advertise market prices when all the seafood is frozen. How can you weigh a frozen crab I asked, then charge me $ 25 for the ice? How can you list Cajun sausage for 8.99 pd and serve Hilshire which is $ 3 a pack all day. My frozen asss oysters were still chilly in th middle. How can you list fresh seafood and EVERYTHING is frozen? He gets pissed and says Fuck it, I’ll eat it!(Seriously in those exact words) To which my reply was– you’re the only person who should, and to take the rest of the Nasty frozen stuff with him while he was Back there feasting. He yells all the places –Hot n juicy, Boiling Crab etc All sale frozen food because fresh food goes bad in one day, to which my reply was the quality of his and theirs weren’t comparable, and if it was frozen, they do a very go job of covering it up! I asked for him to figure out a better price for our food while he was prepping our check, since he OBVIOUSLY tried to Sham us and loudly asked my aunt to call the police in case this man acted any more foolish.. To which he said don’t worry about it, just leave? And I gathered up my folks and excited to the left! Never Eat Here.

This place is pretty good. Big open restaurant, nice and clean. Came for the first time on a Tuesday night and it was empty which is great because our food came out quick. I ordered a pound of «Yo! Mild» shrimp, and the taste was just right– not too greasy. The owner is super friendly and hilarious. I’ll definitely be coming back. P.s: i was hesitant to come at first because of the reviews, but if you scroll all the way down the Unilocal page you’ll see the hidden reviews which give mostly 5 stars.

Where to begin. We getting off freeway to go to RedLobster in Valencia. Ended up turning around & driving opposite direction to go to Boiling Crab. Cajun Boiling Crab popped up & we decided to stop by since it was closer. One word: AMAZING ! We were a little hesitant because of the reviews, but I’m glad we gave it a chance. BETTERTHANKICKIN’ CASIAN or whatever that place was called(already forgot about it) ! Yo House sauce is so addicting. Put it on my steamed rice, put it on my shrimp, put it on my bomb ass huge crab meat, & on my mussels ! All were so delicious even without that specific sauce . The people here are sweet & friendly ! There was only one chef & one waiter, they’re work was still 100. Didn’t really have to wait at all for out food but I’d wait for this anyway ! The actual place is super chill. Space for big parties & good for kids. Music playing & cool lights around . We will definitely be back !!

This place is ehh. Give it three because our service was pretty good, the food wasn’t that awful either. 1lb of shrimp spicy and everything mixed. There was only 14 – 15 shrimp, in the whole pound. It was like the shrimp was cooked separately and they just added the sauces not marinated. So it was just eating shrimp, with sauce on the side. The craw fish was okay, it was made the same way as the shrimp, not well marinated together. We also had a basket of fries, they are okay. Nothing great about it. Only large asahi beer. Drinks is by the can and cost 1.50ish The environment was awkward, it’s like you’re at a lonely club. Once the music stops then it’s super awkward cause you can hear everyone’s conversation. There was nothing super outstanding about this place.
