It’s not easy to find a yummy organic place in the valley. We love this place.

Was not expecting this nice restaurant by the way the outside looks. «Dont judge a book by its cover right?» Must try very clean and healthy choices. Loved the eggs Benedict with turkey sausage. Also the loached pear french toast was very good.

Went here for a breakfast meeting late Sunday morning and it was delicious! Very busy with a small seating area that was recently expanded. Great service, good food. Prices are a little high but if you want a good breakfast with quality ingredients, you’ll come here instead of some dive diner.

Great service and great ambiance. The granola and fruit was super yummy. They have a great selection of items for a weekend breakfast. Not overpriced. Lots of pastries to choose from too. A good solid place to meet a friend with an awesome atmosphere.

This was not an easy review for me to write because I was kind of torn between giving this place 3 or 4 stars. But after some thought, 3.5 seems pretty fair. Here’s my rationale; I usually only give a 4 star rating to a place I could picture being a regular. A place where I’d have a CRAVING once in a while that only a particular restaurant can satisfy. And Humble Bee — while good — falls just short of that for me. This was easily the most frufru place I’ve ever eaten; an anti-steakhouse of a restaurant if you will. Ron Swanson wouldn’t be caught dead here but I was treating my mom and my wife for lunch so it wasn’t too awkward. It was the Saturday brunch menu and my wife ordered the salmon cakes, my mom had a «panwich»(really just a pancake with sausage and egg tucked in it and folded like a taco) and I had the eggs Benedict with turkey sausage. Everything was actually really well done. The turkey sausage was better than pork sausage I’ve had at some places. The pancake was perfectly done, unlike a barely — cooked batter cake I had at a Bob’s Big Boy recently. The food was hot and came out reasonably fast despite the large lunch crowd. Clearly, this kitchen staff was on the ball! But not so nice was the price and the portions. I think it came out to about $ 50 even after tip for our three entrees and no drinks! The food was presented beautifully; Truly a feast for your instagram! But alas, if only it filled as well as it photoed. A sign on the door indicated the restaurant’s support of mandatory GMO labeling and it’s menu touted organic and gluten-free dishes. This despite the Himalayan mountains of scientific evidence that neither of these things really make food safer. I personally find the current anti-GMO, GF fad a gimmick benefiting the pockets of a few rather than the health of many. Also noticed they were distributing a left-wing paper by the door. I couldn’t help but wonder if there’d be a bit of an outcry if Chick-Fil-A had right-wing political material at their restaurant locations. Still, I tried to not let these things color my review. Humble bee currently has a solid 4 star rating on Unilocal.I can see why; good food fast and hot with good service have undoubtedly won its share of fans. Still, the portions, ordinary menu, and high prices just didn’t make it a 4 star value for me.

My fiancé and I had a great experience here! Fast & friendly service and a great atmosphere. We chose this café because I had heard good things about their gluten-free pancakes, but they did not have the ingredients when I went, so that was a little disappointing. However, the food was delicious and prices reasonable. :)

I don’t see why anyone would ever go to a Denny’s or IHOP when places like this exist. Parking is a bit difficult since the lot in the front is small. I saw a sign that said there was parking in the rear, but i made a round around the block and couldn’t find the entrance. Anyways I was seated right away and the store was fairly empty since it was 10 on a weekday. I’m the kind of guy that likes to dip sausage into syrup so the panwich is the perfect dish for me. Two eggs and sausages covered by a pancake. The pancake itself is a little too dense. I was also able to try the french toast which was good and it wasn’t too heavy. Pricing is pretty average but the service is good. They do have a slightly different menu on weekends that I would like to try, but I’d probably never get the chance to :(

I came here for brunch because I saw this place had good reviews. I ordered the English Butty. Food Taste and look fresh. My complaint is the Portion is small and not very filling. Also the dressing on my salad bleed over my eggs and everything else on the plate. Waiters didn’t really check up on us. Just ordered, got food and bill and that was it. They seem like more catering to other tables who had less of a wait for their food even though they came after us.

Delish local organic diner! We had biscuits & gravy and the ranchero chicken omelet and both were AMAZING!!! A definitely must especially if you are a local! Support this small business!

Weekends are brunch only, beware! I like this casual brunch/lunch spot, though the street parking can be a tiny bit inconvenient because they only have 4 – 5 spots in the lot right in front. It’s a hole in the wall kind of spot, but delicious, organic, and decent portions. I like their pastries a lot :) Omelettes won’t disappoint, full of flavor and healthy goodnes. Btw, Carlin is the best, he’s a great personality there and very helpful to boot, try to get him as your server!

The coffee? Exquisite; Brewed at the tops of Mount Olympus with Zeus’ own lightning and Poseidon’s nectar as it melts down the river, filtered by the natural rocks of the Mountain. The food? Extraordinary; as if Priapus himself hand picked the fruits and vegetables that complete each dish. The services? Outstanding; With Artemis at each waiter’s side. No order too large, no request goes unanswered! Seriously, this place is awesome.

Mmm, will never get tired of brunch. Beautiful combo word to describe my two favorite meals of the day– mainly because I’m typically a morning person but the world only really starts socializing midday & what better way to socialize than by sharing a meal yes? Humble Bee is a great little spot not too far from the CSUN campus or Balboa park. So before some studying or after that morning run we all hope to do, Humble Bee is a sweet place to grab a quick bite. FOOD: Shared the breakfast burrito(Targeted for vegetarians, as there is no meat but black beans instead– Honestly, it was filling and tasty enough without meat! Also, not as heavy as you’d think!) & the Peanut butter/Nutella French toast! That French toast was incredibly decadent! Loved it as much as I felt guilty for eating it. But it was a great sweet entrée for those who like to satisfy their sweet tooth early in the day. The French toast is also a much better pairing with coffee & I’d say is more for those cozy feeling days rather than your more productive ones because this will rightfully make you sleepy and dream of Nutella. Both dishes were delicious. I’d suggest both! SERVICE: Had a girl who you can tell is new serving us. She was a bit confused of some questions but she held her end and did the best she could for starters. Could’ve been friendlier– If you’re new, don’t let it show. Cover it up & smile more. It’ll be more forgivable that way. Comfy spot. Come for comfort, Unilocalers. It’s a sweet feeling for both you & your tummy.

Been here a few times with the family. They recently expanded into the next shop which is a good thing because their original space was very tight. The food here is always excellent. We love that it’s fresh, mostly organic and not overpriced. Had a minor issue on our visit yesterday where my french toast was overcooked and almost black. Our waitress, a blonde girl who I think is the owner, apologized and had a new order to my table in minutes, cooked perfectly and piping hot. Great service and with a smile. My wife ordered a bean stew with cornbread on the side, I had the aforementioned french toast, and the kids each had a pancake and eggs(two sides pancake, two sides egg) and the bill was $ 40 with tip. Very reasonable for such high quality food. We will be back!

Been coming here almost everyday for about a year now. Best coffee & breakfast restaurant in the valley. The fresh squeezed orange juice is amazing. Family friendly, great service & the owner is really nice.

I had high hopes but was quite disappointed with the food here… service and atmosphere were great though and that’s why the 3 stars. Their week day menu is different from their weekend menu so keep that in mind when you’re looking at the photos on Unilocal. Originally, I wanted huevos rancheros but we came on a Saturday and that’s not a weekend item so opted for the closest dish which was a rice and egg scramble with salsa and avocado. The dish came and was cool to the touch so I sent it back and ordered the apple French toast instead, which was way too sweet for my taste and again the bread was cool to the touch. It didn’t have that hot fresh off the grill texture that I was hoping for. For $ 10-$ 15 dishes I expected more and will probably not be back. OJ was delicious though!

This place is like a little country getaway. Fresh produce, healthy menu, and minimalistic décor will transport you to simpler times. Come. You won’t forget this place. Plus, now that they’ve expanded, the wait time is so much better.

My friend and I found this great spot while at working in the area. We ordered breakfast plates and two coffees and they were just perfect! Their omelettes had so much fresh veggies and their coffee was superb. The restaurant/café style place is small and unassuming. It’s located in a small strip mall and parking is shared with a few other establishments and the strip mall is surrounded by houses. There’s practically no other businesses located around the area. We were so happy to have found this little gem of a place!

Love the food here, the staff is great! I’m having a little trouble with their consistency of being open when say they are going to be, for a new business I guess it’s understandable. I really enjoy seeing them Open and thriving as I work right across the street. I wish they didn’t close at 3. Also a place that can make a real latte! Who would have thought?! Take that Starbucks. Carlen is great, very friendly, very helpful. Just by observing I can see they need a little more organization with their service. Their pastries, eggs benedict, And French toast are great… portions are, in my opinion, perfect, don’t expect to be busting at the seams. I don’t have a problem finishing my food and feeling comfortably full. Overall, I love this place, clean, pretty flowers on the table. since the remodel, clean and tidy bathrooms.
