The haedupbap is a must try if you can eat raw fish; it’s like a Korean version of the poke bowl. And the bibimbap isn’t too bad either. I recommend this place if you’re shopping in the galleria.

Geez, why the bad review? Their udon combo is the best! Fast and cheap. Yummy! Let’s be realistic here, it’s great if you’re in a rush

I give a 4 star for their sushi salad and for a great price, as long as they keep serving this dish at such a great price myself and my family will keep coming.

3.5 stars! its sushi in a korean market so keep in mind of that and ur expectations should be a-ok! have had the haedupbap about 6ish times now over the past 3 months and they have consistency down to a tee! Key point: average sushi but not bad considering korean market. Haedupbap is on point though :) PS the lady owner is extremely nice! and know me now haha

What type of person goes to a Korean supermarket to eat Japanese food? I do! When it comes to this place, it’s not one I plan on going to when I’m looking for something really fulfilling and somewhere I could sit down for an hour to relax. I stop by here in-between classes and if I just need something quick to get some food in my system. I typically just order salmon nigiri and it roughly the same price as the other sushi restaurants in the area. The quality of fish isn’t mouthwatering, but it’s more than enough if you’re craving something Japanese while at the Galleria Market. The owners are extremely kind and make you feel welcome whenever you stop by to order something. This is something I consider when wanting to come again; if the service or owners are really nice, I’m bound to come back to support their business! You have to take into consideration that this place is in a supermarket competing with Korean foods, so it obviously is not a place you would want to go if you’re looking for an authentic sushi experience. But, the food is more than enough to get by; you are also given a side of miso soup. Tl;dr a sushi spot you can stop by if you’re limited on time!

How you view this place really depends on your attitude. If you order and eat knowing that it’s food court korean sushi, it’s pretty decent. However, if you expect sushi bar quality, you’re obviously going to be disappointed. The people who work here are awesome and always so grateful for their customers and the food comes out relatively quickly! I usually just get the simple california roll + udon combination for less than $ 7. Out of everything, the california rolls here are probably the most trustworthy, and they don’t taste half bad at all! The udon can vary — sometimes it can be soggy and other times the noodles are chewy and the soup is very tasty. I’ve also tried their salmon roll — the rolls stick to the foil and fall apart when picking them up, but the taste overall is fine. I think I’ll just stick to the CA rolls here though. 3 stars just because I can get a quick and yummy udon + CA roll fix without breaking my bank!

I love the people who work here. I have been eating here for about a year or so but there are several issues. It’s usually food handling issues. There are some consistency problems with the kitchen because from time to time when I order the haedupbap, the fish tastes strange. I never really want to blame any food borne illnesses on this restaurant, but I do think I was a little nauseous one time probably because when they prepare the haedupbap, they place the hot rice with the cold raw fish which is somewhat of a health code violation because you’re incubating bacteria. The prices are little too high considering the fact that there are other little stands charging cheaper for food in addition to Shogun Sushi where they charge much less than Love Sushi for some sushi that will hit the spot. I also don’t really like that they charge extra for to-go orders. I know it’s only .50 but they should factor in equal costs for to-go and dine-in like every other restaurant. I just hope they do something about all these issues because I don’t know where else I can get my haedupbap. :(

Ordered a sushi combination. Came with a bowl of udon 6 pieces of California rolls and 3 nigiri sushi. The udon was very mediocre. The California rolls weren’t bad but I didn’t really care much for them. The worst part of the meal was probably the nigiri. The salmon piece wasn’t fresh and left a bad taste in my mouth. However the price for the combo wasn’t too bad.

Really descent sushi for a food court. There’s a genuine vibe when you patronize a family owned business. The owner is a super guy and his wife is sweet too. 7:55pm, get ready for 50% ready rolls. Maybe I shouldn’t give that away.

This place sucks ass. you are paying sushi bar prices for less than supermarket quality sushi. The first time I ate here, was only because I was shopping at the supermarket that it is located in. I had stomach problems the rest of the day, maybe cause it was pre-made & had been sitting out a while? So I gave them a second chance. I ordered it at the counter, so that I would be made then and there…2 Spicy Tuna rolls. I got in my car to continue errands(about 2 minute’s later?) and the fucking rolls were room temperature and there were strands of fat or tendons of some kind which I have never seen in Sushi. Not even the shitty ones from 7 – 11!!! Here is one thing good about this place, and the reason it gets a star… Go to the parking lot and look across the street, there is a Shogun Sushi… same prices, better quality, better atmosphere.

Like everyone is saying, not the best sushi around. But honestly, this is a sushi joint found in the food court of a supermarket. You can’t expect high quality sushi. But it’s a good place for a quick fix if you’re around and want sushi. I would greatly recommend the hwaedupbap(a mixed bowl of fish, rice, and vegetables). It comes with chilli paste to mix in and tastes absolutely great. Around the same price as a combo at a burger joint I’d prefer to eat this because it tastes good and it’s healthy. Also gotta keep in mind that this is being run by first generation korean immigrants trying to make a living so their english isn’t perfect. There are probably going to be a few customer service issues due to language barrier if you don’t speak korean. Just something to keep in mind but I have found the staff here to always be nice, friendly, and generous when asking for a little extra of side dishes.

Worst service ever. From a mediocre(at best) sushi place. I ordered a hwedupbap togo and when I asked for an extra hot sauce, the man tells me that it is an extra $ 2. WTF. I would have been willing to pay an extra 25 or 50 cents or something reasonable. But $ 2?! Seriously now. He obviously just didn’t want to give it to me. They sell the entire bottle of the red hot sauce in the store for like $ 2. To top it off, the rice was hot – which would be fine with any other meal. but with raw fish? in a togo box? Poor service with no common sense. What a horrible way to run a business. Love Sushi just lost one of their very very few customers. Actually, no one in my family will be eating at love sushi again. The only time we ate there was when we were stressed for time and had to togo a quick meal from the Galleria Market. For a place with barely any customers and crappy food, they sure know how to treat the few customers they have well. PS They have sushi and hwedupbap in the kiosk directly across from Love Sushi. They are way nicer and have comparable food and prices. BOYCOTTLOVESUSHI!

Love Sushi… We Love you. Yes this little shop is Located in the Galleria Shopping Center, Off Reseda Blvd. And I must say. My wife and I eat out to sushi several times a month. and Love Sushi is the place we go the most, with super cheep prices for both sushi and Udon… You get what you pay for. I’m always wanting more! The Sashimi Melts in your mouth and the rolls are just right!.. Ive had everything but the salmon skin roll… don’t know many people who’ll jump up and down for the stuff. but Highly recommend this place. I think its run by family, at least the husband is always reading the paper and a the reg while his cute wifey prepares the killer good sushi. Try this place! As always I Grade my experience on a scale of 1−10(10 being THEBEST) upon these five indicators of Explosive Quality: 1. Food: 9 2. Price: 9 3. Service: 10 4. Atmosphere: 8 5. Parking: 10

Since k-town is too far, this is probably the best place for haedupbap in the valley. For all those non-Koreans out there, haedupbap is a sashimi salad with rice and vegetables with a red pepper paste dressing. Every time I’ve had this, it’s always fresh, the portions are HUGE, and they never skimp on the sashimi. And the miso soup is the absolute perfect complement to negate the spiciness and create a new palate for your next bite. It’s also not too pricey($ 7.95) since you can definitely share it with someone. I can barely eat half of it! I wanted to give this place 5 stars based on the haedupbap factor alone but I’ve never had any of their sushi and I don’t plan on it either. Just stick with the haedupbap. It’ll definitely hit the spot.

*************************Supermarket sushi**************************** This little counter based sushi bar is located in the front corner of the food court inside the Galleria Market Northridge(Korean supermarket). I was in the area and I wanted something quick, light and inexpensive. They have various rolls and basically they are the usual suspects for this type of place, spicy tuna, rainbow, eel and several types of nigiri. I went for the relative safety of the spicy tuna roll. It was accompanied by a cup of miso soup. It was o.k. but it did not hit the spot as it were. It was filling enough and it was spicy enough but the quality was sub par, even for this type of place. I would give it a 2.5 star rating and probably won’t go back for seconds.

It is a small restaurant located in the food court of a Korean market. They have really cheap combos so it is okay for the price. Alright for a quick lunch or dinner. Don’t expect quality food though.
