I have always had amazing food and service at Mandarin King! It’s by far the best Chinese around. I adore the Kung Pao and their chicken soft noodles are delectable. My daughter is 5 and she can’t get enough of the dumplings! Such a wonderful family establishment, we will come again and again and again!

Horrible, some of our food came cold. Noodles was a disappointment! First and last time for us!

I think this is a great place. The good is pretty good and the service is decent. It’s better than most Chinese places in the Valley. I like the quality of the meat. They don’t go cheap in the meat department. I appreciate that.

If you haven’t yet tried Mandarin King, then you are definitely missing out on the best Chinese Cuisine in the West San Fernando Valley. Back, way back when… Chinese restaurants were blossoming and booming, you had many choices of where to get some really good Chinese Food. Now the trend for Chinese Food is disappearing one by one, you will have to really do your research in finding a genuine place. As you drive towards Mandarin King, it doesn’t even look like a Chinese restaurant. Of course when you enter through the main entrance, the doors look sorta asian, You are usually greeted by the boss who controls the front desk. The ceilings are very high and you now wonder about the building, itself. AHH… the seating is accomodating and so is the staff. I have dined here at least 30 to 40 times since 2002. The best thing to order here is the tangerine fish, beef with brocolli, and tangerine shrimp. Oh… the mongolian beef here is pretty swell too. I have never got a bad order from here, and will recommend this place to anyone interested in trying something authentic as Mandarin King.

Love this restaurant! Their seafood soup is a favorite of mine and my boyfriend’s. Very kind and attentive staff, a welcoming environment, and delicious pork dumplings. They’re open somewhat late on a weekday compared to most other restaurants which is great. We’ll definitely be coming back many more times in the future!

After reading the reviews i still took a chance and I liked it. It was very old place with unfriendly service. The food was okay.

My family has been coming here almost every Sunday for 20 years. The service is good but the Chinese food is amazing. Everything you order on the menu is really good. Taste stays consistent every time. What we usually order is: –3 flavor sizzling rice soup –shrimp fried rice –Mongolian beef –Kung pao beef or chicken –orange chicken –lemon chicken –salt and pepper shrimp –black pepper beef or chicken –paper wrapped chicken –beef skewers –steamed fish –BBQ pork Would definitely recommend to everyone!!!

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for Over 30 years and their food has consistently been the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The only other place that Offered food on par with them would be the Oriental Express in Beverly Hills which has long gone out of business.

Noodles were horrible, because they were stale and didn’t absorb the sauce. Yuck. (The order was to-go, so that may have had something to do with it, but seriously, it’s not unreasonable to expect Chinese food to be suitable for take-out.)

Food was extremely greasy, very unhealthy. Not much flavor. Atmosphere was not at all inviting. The restaurant felt very dirty and the bathrooms were nasty.

Shrimp Fried Rice is my favorite! The portions are very big and I usually only get through a ¼ and take the rest home. The restaurant is a little outdated and could use more entertainment and/or bar but it is an excellent place for lunch and dinner deals. Service is hot and cold. I walked it to order to go and sat for about 10 minutes before anyone asked me what I needed. Then on another occasion I walked in and was immediately greeted by a very pleasant man. Call in orders and they have them waiting on a tabel by the door but don’t wait to long the food is not sitting under a heater.

I am a regular here and the service is very good it is a family owned business with loyal employees who welcomed me back today since I hadn’t been there for a couple months. Great lunch specials, 7 days a week 11 to 3. Food is great service fine, dated Miami Vice interiors, but great food. They have a banquet room to which is usually taken by an Asian family having a big party. Love this place ate there today. This is a fave restaurant of my family. Our favorite dishes are the sweet and sour soup, the seafood trio in black bean sauce, the shrimp with lobster sauce, the walnut shrimp very sweet and delicious, the sweet and sour and the chow mein and egg drop soup, beef kung pow everything is good haven’t had anything bad here.

Went with some family while visiting and they had some pretty good food. The three flavor soup was good, tangerine chicken was the best we had. The Kung Pao chickin was alright as well. Excellent service, and they seemed to know almost everyone that came through the door, so it was fun, too… The only knock I have on this place is, it just seemed old and run down, but I can overlook that if the food is alright, which it was.

Came here for lunch one day with my family and we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. Everything I ate was drenched in sauce(which is my biggest pet peeve) the chow mein tasted like it was drenched in soy sauce… Seriously that’s all I could taste. Not much more to be said. If you like saucy food where you can barley taste the main ingredients this place is for you.

Been to two birthdays here. The service and food is horrendous. I mean, maybe we all come to expect that because it’s a Chinese restaurant, but I have been to Sam Woo on Sepulveda, A&W in Northridge and Great Wall in Reseda and those places have GOODFOODANDGOODSERVICE. They have a sizable banquet hall with large round tables. For some reason, we were all crammed in 3 tables when honestly we should have had another table. The reason might have been because of the food portions being served, so this could be debatable. The first course was eggrolls and in the center was this weird, random salad. It had salad, chicken tenders, steak. That was actually not that bad. What should have happened was between this and the soup, the plates should have been changed. Instead, after the soup came, only a few of us had new plates and then they started to serve the other courses and the plates were changed literally when the meal was ¾ths of the way done! The servers are clearly not properly trained. I understand this is nit-picky, but I’m a shitty server in a fast casual restaurant and I at least serve to the right side and bus with the left side. ALSO, THEGUYKEPTONREACHINGINMYDIRECTIONWHENHEWASSERVING. HISOLDMANASSRUBBEDAGAINSTMYSIDESEVERALTIMESWITHOUT A ‘PARDONME’ or «SORRY». He also bussed some of the dishes which weren’t finished and when my mom got angry, he gave this shit-eating grin and acted like he didn’t know English. I’m sure customers have been rude to the staff to the point where they’re desensitized so they’re numb, but can you blame the customers at this point? Only reason I ever come here is because I love my family members. Most of them anyway.

Great owner who really goes above and beyond to make dining a great experience. I’ve never dined here normally… only in a large group(20+ where we had a private room) and taken take out. the food is good, not crazy unique… but good Chinese food; fair prices as well. Their portions are fairly large as well, so you can easily share it(then again, Chinese food is generally designed to be eaten family style). I am not too local, but I will come back for more take out from here. Parking is a good sized lot behind the building.
