The Little Blessed Chapel of Jesus Christ

My husband and I got married here in May of 2010. I know my post is late, but I have to admit it was the best day of our lives. Pastor Ron, and his wife did everything possible to make our day perfect, and it was. They took care of everything from décor, music, flowers, ceremony and the reception.
The pictures came out beautiful, and since this location was affordable we were able to honeymoon in Hawaii.
I’ve recommended this location to other friends looking for an affordable beautiful location.

Pastor Ron is great!

We only had about 6 weeks to plan our wedding. I came across this place because my friend lives close by and suggested me to stop by and take a look. It’s a nice little cozy garden if you’re looking for an intimate, closest family & friends wedding.(which was what I was looking for). It’s actually their own house but made the front yard pretty with a little chapel, an altar and some spots for picture taking. The pastor, Pastor Ronnie, was very strict about the rules and the possible additional fees we may have to pay if there would be any damages; we couldn’t have guests under 8 years old unless they’re in the wedding party and a fee would be charged if anyone is late for the rehearsal. He had a strong attitude that I wouldn’t expect from a Christian pastor but I put up with it because I was desperate for a garden venue and the price was reasonable.(considering the ceremony and the reception were held in the same place).
So during the tour, the pastor showed us a little shack behind the chapel as the bridal room and said there’s a little restroom in the back for myself and the guests.
So came our wedding rehearsal (3 days before the wedding), Pastor Ron came off a bit rude to my nephews (ring bearers) because they wanted to look at the turtle pond a little longer than he wanted. (They’re kids! get a grip!) He also said the toilet in the bridal room was not working properly so there would be another restroom on the side of his house so I didn’t panic because I thought it would be in his house.
My wedding day: Nice day, beautiful flowers on the garden, nice altar and reception setting, and everything seemed perfect.
Until… during our ceremony, the neighbor’s dogs kept barking! To think he was so strict about cell phones but he couldn’t talk to his neighbors about their dogs prior to the wedding? It was weird because right after the ceremony, the dogs stopped barking. I was so irritated! And I almost cried not because it was the happiest day of my life, but because the restroom that he had offered was a PORTER POTTY from Andy Gump Toilet Rental at the side of his house!!! I was going to tell him off but I didn’t want to totally ruin my wedding. I didn’t go to the restroom the whole time and I’m sure none of my lady guests did either.
If I just had a little more time and money, I wouldn’t have picked this place but other than his attitude, the barking dogs, and the porter potty, it would have been great. Thankfully my pictures came out nice with the garden background.
FYI: This pastor does everything: Coordinator, pastor, dj, clean-​up guy and everything else with a little help from his wife.

Beautiful, but ceremony was rushed

Beautiful, yes. But what Pastor Ronnie fails to mention is that the ceremony seating and alter fall in DIRECT SUNLIGHT until sunset.
On the HOTTEST day of the year, we would have been MISERABLE if we hadn’t had the fore thought to bring fans and parasols for the guests.
Let’s put it THIS way… the Unity candles melted on the alter, and the bride and groom were visibly squinting and sweating. There are canopies and swags that could easily add to the comfort of the guests without ruining the ambiance, and it’s hard to believe that the proprietor wouldn’t mention the situation up front, or that he thinks BAKING in the sun and sweating to death, a pleasurable experience on a wedding day.
Then, having booked an event immediately AFTER us and asking if it was possible to start EARLY (even though the invitations already went out) we started getting «pressure» when we started running to the original schedule, as if we were actually late (but we were right on time).
The isles aren’t wide enough for 2 people, and our poor bride kept getting her veil snagged in the rose bushes.
It is a beautiful little place, and was perfect for our casual, no stress attitude… especially when the next door neighbors dogs came out to bark at us during the ceremony… but seriously… if we were at an outdoor wedding in Las Vegas during the summer, there would have been cover and misters and fans. And thats what these people need to add to make them a viable summertime venue as it was 112 degrees out on our special day, and we were seated in direct sun.

Got married here in 2010 and although the place is beautiful, Pastor Ron often came across a little strong. The location is full of beautiful flowers and vines and large trees. Perfect for a spring/​summer wedding. However, he often yelled at my guests for stepping on the grass!!! The few people who brought small kids were yelled at too. Felt kind of shady since there was no contract, no details, and wanted a large deposit. Was not comfortable with this since it created problems for us on the day of the wedding. Claim to be doing this for years yet were very impatient and pushy at times. We asked him for a Christian service and he shows up wearing Jewish ceremonial attire. Played the wrong song at the recessional and demanded an additional $ 300 the DAY OF THE WEDDING because we didn’t hold the reception there. Even though he knew three months prior we only wanted the ceremony. 2 stars for location, 0 stars for customer service and being unprofessional.

I gotta change their star to 5! They were able to wiggle some room for us. I am so happy and relieved that we finally booked a new venue 3 weeks before the wedding!!!
