I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. Like another Unilocaler noted, this is like the Subway of pizza joints – you can order one of their featured pizzas or make your own from a large selection of ingredients. I love pizza, but can’t eat cheese or other high fat ingredients normally found on a pizza. At Mod Pizza I was able to order a pizza exactly the way that is best for me. Service was quick and pleasant, too. I’ll be back often!

This place is like a subway for pizza. you choose as much toppings as you want for the same price. The staff is friendly and always says hi when you walk into the door. The pizza is really good also the other things they have are good too. The prices are reasonable and it feels so good that you designed your own pizza. Your pizza comes out of the oven in five minutes. I would recommend coming here and I will be returning soon.

GREETINGS all pizza eaters! Loud hellos are the first thing that hits you when you enter MOD Pizza. It’s set up like Blaze Pizza but the extra variety of toppings, local beers and milkshakes set it apart. You can’t go wrong with the pizza because the staff will make it exactly the way you want them to. There are very few instances in life when people do as you ask them so MODs is special in that way. For drinks, they have the standard fountain pops, a few different types of lemonade, bottled juices, sparkling water, etc. They also have draft beer(because who doesn’t love the beer-pizza combo?) and a few different types of milkshakes. I tried a strawberry milkshake which was thick but didn’t have much of a strawberry taste :-( There is tons of seating available and the place is always clean. As you leave, you’ll hear loud GOODBYES from the MOD staff.

First time at this place last night, about to eat the leftovers and wanted to share. Good stuff, good atmosphere, friendly staff, clean. I had the carmalized pear tea and it was great but I would have liked to try 2 – 3 other homemade tea or lemonades. Can’t wait to go back and hope that one comes soon a l little closer to Ferndale. Only 4 stars because I’ve only been once. I’ll update.

Fantastic Pizza! After the 3rd time here members of my family have perfected there pizza recipes! I tried the staff favorite ‘Valencia’ without the sri-rancha sauce and it was perfect! The Valencia pizza includes white sause, mozzarella, chorizo, dice tomatoes, red onion, feta, cilantro and lemon, topped with sri-rancha(I did not get the sri-rancha) and I also added extra mozzarella. Fantastic!

Love this pizza… the crust is peefect and all the veggie choices is so refreshing… Would love to see you add broccoli. Great local beer choices too! My husband works nearby and comes here at least once a week.

Very fast and very good pizza. You specify your pizza size, sauce and toppings and it will be ready in less than ten minutes. They also have a list of special pizzi. The crust is thin and crispy which I like, but if you are a deep dish fan you may be disappointed. There are so many toppings that you will be happy with what you can have. My wife and I split an 11 inch za with white sauce and basil on one side and tomato sauce on the other. I had Italian sausage and she had four cheeses on her side. It was big enough to satisfy us especially with a little salad on the side. They have some good beer and wine too. The one complaint I have is the music was so loud we could hardly talk to each other, so it made me want to get out of there ASAP. This is good and fast, but not a «fine dining» restaurant — — — –still we will go back for a quick and tasty meal.

First time in. The staff greeted us and saw our lost look. They came out from behind the counter to explain everything. Love the thin crust, choice of toppings, and everything being made in plain sight. Will definitely come back.

I have been to this location twice and both trips went great. Fast, friendly service with yummy thin crust pizza. Love the fact you can add as many toppings as you want for one flat price. Brought an out of town friend from Chicago and she thought it was great, snapped pic to husband and he wants to know if they plan on coming to the windy city! Keep in mind this is a fast food location not a traditional sit down server restaurant. I highly recommend you give it a try. Big plus: outdoor seating.

Yeah yeah pretty good pizza. Two people split a MOD size Caesar salad. Pretty simple but good. One pizza was the Mad Dog no modification. The other a Tristan with added chicken and Canadian bacon. The modified Tristan was very very good. Overall it was good.

I would give it a strong score. This is very much like a pizza chipotle. The staff is amazing and friendly. I ordered the hottest thing on the menu and it was spot on. My buddy and I are from Chicago and NJ and we believe that good pizza is hard to find out side of those markets. This is a got to for me.

Ordered online again and once again they messed it up. Cashier denied that we had spoken when I got there to pick up my order. Short version is I had to wait 20 min for pizzas orders in advance for a specific pick up time. One of the orders were wrong, but I didn’t learn that until I got the food back to the office. Owner came up and apologized and comped my order, which is good but still frustrating.

I came to the Northville location with a friend who had never been to MOD. I had previously been to the location in Livonia and had a great time. The Northville location is just as great as the Livonia! We got there before the dinner rush. We arrived around 5:10 and were greeted quickly. The staff member asked if we had been to a location before and when my friend said she hadn’t, the staff member quickly explained the process for ordering a pizza or salad. My friend is a vegetarian and loved all of the options available for her. She ended ordering the pizza with a salad on top and loved it. I ordered the Dillion James(sauce, basil, cheese, tomatoes) and ended up adding pepperoni, spicy Italian sausage and onions. It was delicious! Just like the last time! We were asked a few times how our food and service was. This location also has beer and wine available. I ended up passing on it and got their carmelized pear iced tea. It is awesome! Not too sweet and no caffeine! Prices are extremely reasonable. My mod sized pizza and iced tea were $ 10.00 and I have leftovers for tomorrow! I will be sure to visit, again!

After going to the Unilocal Elite event at the MOD Pizza in Novi, I was hooked on the brand that is MOD. We had excellent experience there. We didn’t have a stellar experience at this location. The gentlemen behind the counter were rude and obnoxious. The product was still great, and I would definitely come back. I just hope those fellas check it at the door next time.

*Viciously* overpriced for what you get. Unless you’re in an incredible hurry and need your pizza super fast(and they are super fast), I’d stick to the more classic pizza joints where you get more for your money.

The staff here is so friendly and helpful! I am glad I stopped by after a long class at REI. Good, fresh, and quick pizza is exactly what I needed at the moment and there was enough to land me lunch for the next day. I pretty much choose something off the menu and completely changed it. I ended up getting a MOD size with marinara, mozzarella, basil, spinach, chorizo, hot italian sausage, jalapenos, olives, mushrooms, gorgonzola, asiago cheese, and squirts of this really good buffalo chicken sauce. The pizza was done in under 10 minutes and the thing cruse was so crispy. The staff was extremely kind and cheerful which was I appreciated after a pretty long day without food. Thanks, MOD!

Disclosure: I came here today for a media preview event. The only fast-fired pizza places I have been to so far has been Blaze Pizza, in both Novi and Royal Oak. MOD Pizza is similar to Blaze except it has a bigger menu, and is a little more upscale, IMO. You can choose from 9 «classic» pizzas(topping combos already picked out for you) or you can do a make-your-own; you can also add any toppings to the classic pizzas that you want, too. There’s a gluten-free crust option(+$ 2 more) as well as dairy-free cheese, which is nice if you can’t have dairy or have a gluten intolerance. I chose the«Ulysses»(not on the regular menu but was the Squad Favorite this week), but didn’t realize until later it has no red sauce; it has a ton of cheeses, though, as well as basil and mushrooms. I added a bunch of veggies and meats(chicken, pepperoni) as well. Because we could order whatever we wanted, I tried out the(berry, I believe) lemonade too, and we ordered the cinnamon sticks(TO.DIE.FOR. seriously.) and the garlic sticks. My mom also got a milkshake which was also delicious — I would be happy going there and getting the cinnamon sticks plus a milkshake, if my stomach wouldn’t hate me afterwards: P since it dislikes dairy usually. My dad also was a big fan of the pizza salad(salad toppings on an asiago pizza crust). My only minor complaint is there are no MOD locations on my side of town(Troy area) yet, BUT a Rochester location is opening in September :) which is much closer for me than Northville or Livonia. I also found out today that TEAM Schostak(who runs/owns the Michigan MOD locations) plans on opening 25 Michigan locations within the next 5 years — so, rest assured, if there’s no MOD near you now there certainly will be soon. Prices are slightly higher than Blaze’s(I think Blaze is $ 7.25 for a 11″ pie, MOD is $ 7.87) but you get what you pay for — this pizza was more crunchy, which I liked(Blaze’s is sometimes«drippy» when I add the chopped garlic and the pesto drizzle at the end which I like), and MOD has more variety, including beer and wine, than Blaze does. My only suggestion is for them to get ovalini mozzarella — Blaze has that and I love adding that + the regular mozzarella to my pizzas. For more pics, check out my blog post, too:
