Northville District Library

This is a great community library in downtown Northville. It has free wi-​fi and lots of web access computers to use. It has a great movie selection and inter-​library is free and pretty quick. The children’s section is great with lots of activities including, puppets, puzzles and kids-​only computers. Staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a regular program of kids reading hours and programs and regular programs for adults ranging from book readings to movies to informative lectures, Great place to spend the afternoon.

The Northville Library is awesome. It is a newer building, with 2 floors and lots of windows providing natural light. They are easily handicapped or stroller accessble, despite having the 2 floors. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. They also offer lots of really cool programs. For example, there is an upcoming seminar about Walter P. Chrysler, which I would love to go to, since I love history. I also take my kids to «Tots Storytime» where we sing songs, read a book, learn about the topic in the book, play a game & get a sticker. All in about 30 – 45 mins! Their kids section is great as well, they have many tables set up for activities and reading. In addition they have puzzles and neat educational or mentally stimulating toys for kids to play with while there. Best of all, they have a little puppet theater with bins & bins of puppets! Every week, each of my kids picks a puppet and we play there for a while to see if the boys like that puppet. Then (get this!) we check out the puppet and take it home for a week! Yes, for real, you can check out puppets! This has been so much fun for the kids, I’m sure we will continue to come to the library frequently even after our Storytime season is over.
Of note, this library is also part of The Library Network, so you can get books from other Metro D libraries, and you have access to the digital download website as well. There really are so many reasons to have a library card. Get up and get one!

The thing I love best about this library is the fact that they have a tv show section for their DVDs. I love to check out past seasons of shows and it makes it convenient when I don’t have to dig through all the other DVDs on the shelves to find something. The place itself is also very nice.

How has this not been reviewed yet? It’s a wonderful library with a wonderful staff located in downtown Northville! I used to come here often for school projects, meet with classmates for projects, and to check out books. This is a great library that is still on the newer side and is large with two stories and plenty of places to grab a book and read.
It’s got a good amount of tables to do group projects and study with a classmate. There are lots of windows and natural sunlight coming in (when it’s actually sunny in MI) so it makes it enjoyable to read there. It’s got it’s own parking lot which is nice too and near the post office.
