Best of Grandpa’s Cheesebarn

The owner and manager are the most drama filled people I’ve ever known, and I wouldn’t recommend that shit hole to anybody!!! They treat their employees like trash, and I refuse to buy anything from a bunch of adults who act like they’re 10!!!

I’m sure if you’ve ever driven to Cleveland from Columbus, or taken 71 past Ashland, you’ve seen Grandpa’s Cheesebarn right at the side of the road. Well, this review isn’t about that Cheesebarn! This is a shout out to a 2^nd location on route 76 close to Massilon that I didn’t even know existed until about 5 days ago! Owned by the same people but a bit smaller, this location is only a half mile off exit 14 and isn’t even that crowded!
What do I love about Grandpa’s Cheesebarn? How about the fact that you can sample every cheese they have in the store before deciding to buy one. And I mean EVERY cheese, and they have quite a large selection! I ended up just grabbing the Asiago and Onion cheese spread, which was delicious, but the port wine cheddar and almost all of the Swiss cheese were great too.
I did end up getting a bunch of Sweetie’s chocolates which they have an entire half of the spot dedicated to. The homemade chocolate peanut butter cups and salted chocolate and caramel treats are amazing! Few of them made it back to Columbus.
This is a great place to grab a gift for somebody, especially if you’re on your way to Akron, Cleveland, or Columbus to visit and need a last second present. Everyone here is extremely helpful and will answer any questions you have. You can pretty much sample everything in the store, so don’t be overwhelmed looking at the massive selection!

First time here and the service is very good as well as the varieties of cheese! They provide tons of varieties cheese sample and sauces. Very delicious! I’ve tried whiskey cheese, blazing mango cheese, raspberry cheese, steakhouse cheese… all kinds! I will definitely come again!

Fun and Yum! You can’t beat that! You can try ALL their cheeses… and I live in a dairy state with a lot of cheese factories – and I was impressed! They have fantastic ice cream, and their for sale items are eclectic and fun. I loved the spiritual influence, as well.
It’s a great place to take the kids, and let them see that cheese does not all come in plastic wrap. They also have fantastic meats.
I would drive up there just to go next time I come to visit my home state!

terrific roadside find. you can literally have a small lunch at this place with all the samples they offer. the staff is all very friendly & helpful. perfect spot to stop & pick up last minute things for a picnic. lots of unique items w/​flavor combinations you would not expect to be as tasty as they are!

Came here today for the first time. I was very quickly welcomed with a cheery «hello welcome to the cheesebarn»! The place smelled amazing and had lots of foods to sample. I tried lots of cheese and jerky. They had some amazing looking chocolates. I will have to come back! I bought jerky today and we ate the whole thing before getting home. Very recommended!
