The Olde Thyme Shoppe is beyond precious. However, I still do not understand how places like this survive the recession. That being said, I made it a point to go inside, and to support the local business. The outside of the building is a little deceiving, because when you go inside, you find there to be at least 3 other rooms connected to the cute country looking house. Each room has it’s own theme. The first room has hippyish clothing, handmade beaded bags and jewelry, as well as aromatherapy candles and oils. This room smelled delightful, and I was already at peace the moment I walked through the door. The next room is for tea sets and entertaining purposes. You can purchase appetizer books, gorgeous tea sets, wine bottle stoppers, and various teas and dip mixes. This room is adorable, and you could spend an hour just looking at the various items. The last room is where they sell garden decorations as well as flowers. They have premade baskets and floral arrangements, as well as single potted plants. I purchased a $ 5 little african violet plant with the most gorgeous colors. All of the plants were well taken care of. The lady who helped me cash out had an interesting accent. Next time I’ll have to ask where she is from. What I really appreciated is that she and her coworker did not hound me. I looked through their store for a good 45 mins, and they only asked me once if I needed help. If you need a cute little gift, or need a mental escape, this is the place for you. Granted, you could go somewhere else, and pay a few dollars less, but you surely wouldn’t have the same experience. For a truly relaxing day, go to Audage across the street for a massage, and then treat yourself to a present at the Olde Thyme Shoppe :)
