Just called to set up a time to bring my car in and have it checked out. Couldn’t stand his bad attitude on the phone from the start. Asked, «what’s a good time to bring it in?» and he answered, with a nasty snarl, «a time that you can leave it here for awhile.» Well no kidding dumbass! Nothing he necessarily said, but just a condescending and unprofessional way to talk to a potential customer. Needless to say, I won’t be bringing it there. J&M Transmissions, who is much friendlier and has more good reviews than bad(unlike Ron’s), is right in the area as well.

I made an appointment more than a week in advance to have ny transmission serviced on a Monday morning. The Friday before the appointment they called late in the afternoon and cancelled. Where was I going to find a trans. shop to get service on a Monday morning when it was about 3:00 on Friday afternoon. They Really Screwed Me ! Untrustworthy people. Avoid if possibe !

I just had the clutch repaired on my 1974MG Midget at Ron’s transmission. He took the time to figure out the exact problem, ordered the correct parts and fixed the issue without a full clutch rebuild/replace. I was thrilled with his expert analysis of the situation to repair my car without pulling the engine, which would have been an expensive procedure. Ron and Paula provided quality service at a reasonable price, and I would certainly return.

The manual transmission on my wife’s car lost first gear so I made an appointment. Looking back, I should have driven it using 2nd until it stopped working. Instead of diagnosing the problem, the insisted on replacing the entire trasmission with a used one from a junkyard. The junkyard unit came with a 90 day parts only warranty. They had the car for over a week. Apparently the first junkyard transmission they got had a crack, so they had to find another one. After picking up the car, we went to visit my folks for a couple days. The car had no reverse lights(controlled by a switch on the transmission). When we returned, the owner’s wife, Paula tried to blame a bad switch on the junkyard transmission. I told her, «my car arrived here with working reverse lights, it should leave with working reverse lights.» They reluctantly fixed it without charge, but after a couple weeks the reverse lights stopped working again. I paid another garage to fix it correctly a second time. Stay away from this place. Spend your money elsewhere and know that it’s done right.
