I and my husband came here for cold noodles today because it was dreadfully hot. I didn’t expect anything special but their service was fabulous. Ladies were really nice, kept checking on us while eating, and offered more side dishes. I had Dotori noodle for the first time in my life and really liked it. I’m definitely coming back here!

Don’t stop, but Go Hyang Jib! Looking for a new place to eat, I gathered intel on Go Hyang Jib, located in a Korean strip mall across one of those Korean nude spas, where your skin is scoured off like a trout being cleaned for dinner. I deduced I wanted either their soondae gook or their mudfish soup. Mission directives certain, I made my way over for a lazy Saturday lunch. Mudfish soup– Just like it’s namesake fish, it’s like eating mud. Think hot fish smoothie with vegetables and other things. A textural nightmare. Kinda weird, kinda gross. I loved it! The mudfish soup was hearty, rich, and comforting. I asked for green onions to add, which would provide some much needed texture and was given a container of it. I also added chopped jalapeño which was on the table. A filling meal, I’m glad I can cross off mudfish from my food to-do list. Why the 5 stars, Rodney? Well, it’s da bomb banchan! Specifically this! The raw crab banchan! Sweet, spicy raw crab which you eat shell and all. The only difficult part being the claw, where the flesh needs to be picked out. I had a refill of the banchan, which I usually do, mainly for another go at the raw crab. Think about it. Have a couple servings of the crab, and it probably costs as much as the soup. That’s a deal! No complimentary sikhye(rice dessert), unfortunately. Service was great. The sweet waitress was accommodating to this gringo who spoke a little Korean with her. After my refill of banchan, she asked me «You’re just going to eat banchan??» «I have an appetite», I replied. The understatement of the millennium. A fair amount of seating, Go Hyang Jib is a homey, hole in the wall place. Parking is in a private lot, which fills up fast. I go-go dance for Go Hyang Jib! The food’s authentic, full of flavor & not bad on the wallet. What sets it apart, for me, is the raw crab banchan. I would’ve asked for yet another refill, but I was afraid the sweet little waitress would’ve cut me off abruptly like the sexiest woman in the room that I asked for a dance. C’est la vie! I can’t wait to try their soondae gook, as I’m big on blood sausage. Till next time! Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

It’s kinda like eating at a friend’s house, everyone was very friendly and attentive. There were lots of pros to this place, among which are: the prices($ 15.60 for the combo and around 8 $ for a single soup entrée, the good portions/amount of food they give you, the banchans which are super tasty, and the quality of the food. We got ourselves the oxtail soup, BBQ beef, and spicy beef and veggie soup, and loved every single dish. We are so glad we found this place, and definitely would be back again.

I ordered Spicy Pan-Fried Duck(in picture 1) but the order I received is totally different(in picture 2)… Ask for refund and the lady told me she is not the owner so she can not issue the refund to me

I usually don’t like eating at Korean restaurants because my mom makes delicious Korean food at home. BUT this place is an exception. This place has authentic Korean food. I came here with my mom to give her a break from cooking and ordered a combo of cheonggukjang(a less fermented version of doenjang, another fermented bean paste stew) and jokbal(pork hocks). The cheonggukjang isn’t salty like most places and reminds me of a home cooked meal. The jokbal plate has a cuts of the meat as well as chunks of meat on the bone. I was going at it and ripping it off the bones. No need to be lady like when you’re eating jokbal with bones. I think it was around $ 16 and the portions were huge. Definitely a lot of food for two people. Also, they serve gaejang or seasoned spicy blue crab as a banchan. Omg… This banchan is a bab doduk(or rice thief for all the non Korean speakers because it’s so delicious and goes so well it rice that your rice will be gone before you know it)

Came here as we were passing through Cerritos. It’s like home cooking with a lot of options. I didn’t try the soondae as we don’t care for it much but the kalgooksu/noodles, oxtail soup and nengmyun is really good and clean. Chicken was a little bland and more teriyaki style. Restaurant itself is a hole in the wall but food seems dependable. Service is also friendlier than your average Korean restaurant and fast. I’m not a foodie but I like what I like and this place didn’t disappoint! If I lived around here this may be my go-to place so I don’t have to cook dinner:)

I’ve been coming here for more than 8 years. Food tastes still the same. The best! Food tastes like the way my grandma used to cook back in Korea…

Food was great and staff was busy but friendly. Ordered the ox bone soup with soon dae combo. Soup was just the right amount of taste, not too bland. Soon dae was yummy with the seasoning salt. I was too afraid to try the raw crab banchan though. Looking forward to comin

A taste of home cooked meals. Love the food here. Great stews, noodles, rice dishes and pan chan. the ladies here are so sweet and cute. Feels just like eating at a grannies’ home. The soy bean cold noodle is great for the hot summer days.

Not wanting to cook after a full day’s work, I decided to go reward myself with some hot soup. Unilocal told me to try this mom and pop place in Artesia so off I went. I really wanted to eat there so I don’t have to wash dishes BUT a quick look see showed families eating with a maximum of two dishes. Heck, I want to order two dishes. Should I risk looking like a complete fat stuff, ordering so much food just for me? Hmm… Not tonight, Chris. Not tonight. So I took it to go. ***Service Moderately busy on a Tuesday night, the lady behind the counter was still all smiles and very friendly. I liked that. ***Combo meal, totaling $ 16 with tax, could feed 3 people. Seriously huge portions. 1. Banchan for days!!! I was not gonna complain. I love side dishes. 2. Soondae — I read this is their specialty. Does the term«blood sausage» deter me? There’s a Filipino dish we call DINUGUAN which is soup made from pork blood. So… Nope. Going back, there was probably three H-U-G-E sausages in there. It looks like chocolate covered glass noodles inside. If you get your mind to forget that the chocolate is actually blood, you’ll start to enjoy it. I liked eating the sausage wrapped in lettuce. Really good. 3. Kimchi jiggae — very good, too. I just didn’t get to really enjoy it since them Soondae got my attention more. I wavered on 3 or 4 stars because… Well, it’s more of an acquired taste. It wasn’t really mind blowing great food at first. I dunno why I’m justifying my rating but whatevs.

My favorite down home Korean joint. Yes, they really give you spicy pickled crab as banchan and their soon dae is the best. Their kimchee chigae is soooooo good that I always ask for 2 bowls of rice. All their banchan is excellent. Ample parking and great service from the ladies. It’s a no frills joint, the money all goes into their food. They make what I call«stank soup» which is the extra fermented soy bean stew. Somehow, I always end up surrounded by people in neighboring tables that order it to my dismay. Although I’m sensitive to the odious soup I just endure through it because the food is THATGOOD. There are a few vegetarian dishes like acorn spicy noodles, chewy rice spicy noodles and a few other items. Bring your tree hugging, Korean food lovers.

My favorite Korean restaurant so far. I live near by so I come here or to go often. Most of the foods are good. I have a weak stomach. So, When I eat foods with lots of MSG I don’t feel too good. But here I can trust. I like their Duck bulgogi and Kongbigee(bean stew with lots of pork and kimchee). The service is always great.

Great little place to get delicious home style Korean food. Their combos are great! You get one soup and one other dish for only $ 15.99 and it is more than enough for 2 people. Delicious delicious delicious. My boyfriend and I go several times a month and will continue to do so!

I would have never known this little gem existed if my friend’s hadn’t invited me to dinner. This is located in a random strip mall next to a Donut/Chinese food fast food shop and a Mexican restaurant. I’ve dined here twice already and ordered the kimchi jiggae both times. It is great! Very authentic and tastes homemade. In addition to the delicious food and good service, the price is so reasonable it’s the icing on the cake. Will be back again soon

I love this place. Everything was great. This place is hidden in a tiny outdoor strip mall. Authentic Korean food and some of the best I’ve had in a while. My mom is half Korean and Japanese, so I had the best of both worlds growing up. I’m delighted to have found this place. I’ll definitely be back. Five words: stone pot bibimbap and mandu.

God I love homestyle Korean food. I could take or leave Korean BBQ(apart from those odd times I’m REALLY craving some fatty meat and sesame oil wrapped in white radish) but I can’t get enough of those stew-y, red sauce drenched, hearty platters of random meats and fish. Here, we chose the soondae and the pan fried duck(explained by the waitress as duck bulgogi). It was a really hard choice. I mean, they had my favorite braised cod dish, and black goat stew, and kimchi with mackerel… But we managed. Two dishes was WAY too much food for two people(par for the course in Korean places). The soondae came out all steaming with probably 5 or 6 whole sausages worth of chopped slices in there, noodly and almost black with spicy, delicious blood. There were also slices of liver thrown in for good measure, and everything was cooked and marinating in a not-too-crazy kimchi base. My favorite was the duck, though, and not just because there is no way to hate tender, fatty duck slices. It also had a slight sweet touch, and was complemented by soft slices of zucchini, carrots, and onion. Banchan were plentiful and constantly restocked — even the amazing raw blue crab one, which got our hands irreparably saucy as we held the legs and bodies to our teeth, cracked them, and sucked out the delectable raw meat. It felt weird to eat crab raw, but hey, that’s how it’s served and I don’t see all their customers getting salmonella. We didn’t either, but even if we had, I may have wondered for an instant whether it was worth it. It was that good.

Discovered another Korean mom and pop restaurant that serves delicious Korean style cold noodles(dine-in only)! It’s so yummy and refreshing — best on a hot day! They also offer the cold noodle as one of the choices if you decide to go with the combo deal for $ 14.48(see pic, posted in tips). The combo deal used to be $ 2 less but nonetheless, still a great deal! As for the combo deal, the soon dae(blood sausages) is my favorite one! The meats are good choices too. With your dishes comes complimentary banchan dishes(usually about 7 different ones as pictured). One of their banchans always include kimchi, radish and gaejang(spicy seasoned raw blue crab). The Korean speaking ladies that work there are super nice and friendly. You’ll find good service, great home style Korean food and plenty of parking!

4 ½ stars. Came in for lunch on an overcast Saturday for lunch. Located in a strip mall, parking could be a pain during peak hours. I suspected this small business was legit since the clientele was 100 percent Korean. We were greeted immediately and seated in a corner table. The older Korean waitresses are really kind and sweet. I ordered the combo with bbq beef and Seolleongtang soup. The entrée included rice, banchan. and we ordered a bibimbap Ala carte. All I can say is the food here is delicious. The banchan was solid quality and included spicy crab. The Seolleongtang was bomb — so flavorful and generous amounts of protein. Also, the bibimbap was absolute perfection. This is the type of restaurant I heart — small, quaint with great food and solid service. It doesn’t get much better than this!
