Love the burgers, love the menu and love the happy hour prices !!! Eaten here a dozen times and it’s consistently very very good. Drinks are on par and food is above average. Kudos to the chef at this location! GETMORECOMFORTABLECHAIRS!!! They are bad, in and outside … Ugh. Actually… maybe don’t because then I’d never leave!!!(Better chairs –5 stars)

Had a great dinner here last night. Décor was great, industrial chic, very relaxed vibe. Great service. The food was good! We ordered 4 things and were split on what we liked — bacon tater tots sounded good but were really not great. Too cheesy, not bacon-y or potato-y lol. Shrimp tempura was perfect. I want all shrimp to taste like that, forever– breaded, a little sweet but not very. Just perfect. The jerk chicken empanadas had good flavor but really dry. Harlan burger with truffle fries for the win. So good. Going to come back BC the drink list still has to be explored!

If you’re looking for somewhere to grab a drink and some good food, this is definitely the place. I’ve been here on numerous occasions and the quality of the food, drinks, and service has been consistent. Why does Harlan get five stars? The answer is pretty simple — the Harlan Burger which is served on a Portuguese English Muffin with a delicious cheddar ale sauce, and bacon onion jam. It’s definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I’ve also had the Gulf Shrimp and Grits which is also really good.

This review is courtesy my 8-year-old son William. «Harlan Publick is a great place to take families because it has food for everyone and so much fun stuff(fountain & corn hole) outside. They have great service and they have the best burgers, pretzels & croissant. To me this is the best restaurant in CT!»

A Perfect Spot and Happy Ending :) This was my first trip To Harlan Publick in SONO. Great location, tucked away in the Iron Works Building. Terrific atmosphere and Vibe. They have fabulous outdoor area with heaters and fire pit. If warmer that is the place to be. Love the open design of the place, large very active bar scene. My friends and I were grabbing a bite after a movie. Eclectic and very different menu, something for everyone, seafood, chicken, vegetarian, beef(the ST Louis ribs are out of this world) I had the spicey Quinoa Burger(and truffle fries), delish and dense, lots of good stuff in there. Servings are large(half my burger came home with me) You won’t leave hungry. Presentation is cool, on a rectangular wooden slab. The place is great. Unfortunately, my wallet fell out of my purse, black wallet, on black floor, in dark restaurant. I was unaware, as soon as I arrived home, one of my friends called, she had made our reservation, to say the manager(Matt) had my wallet, our server(thankfully) found it. They found me because of that phone reservation. I went right down(Sunday nite about 10pm) and picked it up. Everything was in there, cash and credit cards. I was really lucky. Thanks again Harlan Publick, I will be back soon. A happy girl in Connecticut

Excellent ambiance and service! Our waiter was very attentive and took great care of us. Great beers on tap and a creative menu. The burrata was some of the best I’ve ever had. A bit pricey, but worth it if you’re in the mood to celebrate!

Has maybe the best overall meal my wife and I have had in a while. The food was awesome but the décor and the service was top notch. It wasn’t cheap but you get what you pay for. I had the Prefix with the endive salad, kove flatiron steak and the rice pudding. Really, really very well put together. Took our night from good to great.

With relatives visiting from Boston, we were looking for a fun spot with great food, relaxed and lively simultaneously. We decided on Harlan Publick in SoNo. My previous visits since Executive Chef Kamal Rose started serving his Caribbean inspired cuisine have been great. We immediately ordered drinks and while we looked at the rest of the menu we shared an order of Black Bean Hummus, which was served with pico de gallo and sweet plantain chips. Everyone loved the combination and we needed additional chips to enjoy every bit. We next shared three other outstanding apps… Spicy Tuna Tartare, Jerk Chicken Empanadas and Gulf Shrimp Tempura. The shrimp disappeared quickly, crispy and slathered in a sweet-spicy sauce, and the tuna was gone in the blink of an eye. At Chef Rose’s suggestion I order the shrimp and grits for my entrée. It was served with crispy prosciutto, shrimp gravy, and parsley pesto. When it arrived, the shrimp were nestled in the grits with pieces of the bright red prosciutto sitting on top. A ring of the red shrimp sauce encircled the presentation. My first bite was unbelievably delicious. The shrimp offered great flavor and then the other ingredients elevated the combination to the best S&Gs I have tasted. My cousin, who was not a fan of grits, absolutely loved it as well. We also enjoyed each of the four desserts, the chocolate pretzel and the crisp were standouts and we really enjoyed the brulée and the rice pudding.

Great food/atmosphere. Been here a handful of times and never disappointed. Went tonight and there was a mix up w the reservation host/manager were very accommodating. made it work after only a short wait while they bought us a round of drinks. Super spot for birthday dinner or girls night out. Menu is priced to work for anyone appetizers are reasonable as well as most entrees. Gulf shrimp tempura are a must have & the Harlan burger with truffle fries.

Really good food, but the atmosphere is so so. The scallops are definitely a must try, as well as the brussel sprouts w duck fat. The pretzel with dip is really good, too.

Douche Central. Walked over from Washington Prime with a few other people. Arrived at the bar and waited 10 minutes without being served at a moderately busy evening. We all decided to leave. Literally locked eyes with the bartender a few times, but he decided to serve his friends instead. Friday November 6th at around 10:00PM. This seems like a sure way to bleed money.

Great service, went for dinner and i had the quinoa spice burger with the truffle fries. Loved how crisp the burger was in the outside and very tasty! I also had the white cosmo as a drink. One of the things that i really liked was the late night crowd after the dinner floor closed. Very young and energetic people to have drinks with. Good and lively music.

Nice place tucked off the West end of Washington. Found it before our actual dinner stop earlier in the evening when I went to pull a u-turn and ended up following the stone drive up to what I thought might be some sort of extended stay hotel? Curiousity had us walk back and we stopped in for a drink after dinner and ended up killing a couple hours hanging at the stellar outdoor seating area and even had a pick up game of cornhole with my girlfriend(giggity). Nothing more consumed than some scotch(which it turns out makes me deranged so no more of that) and drafts so the bar was a bar with friendly servers but looks like they have grub too.

We dined here this past Saturday night. Atmosphere was decent the spacing of the tables seemed a bit too closed and felt crammed the entire meal. Despite having a reservation we were sat 15 minutes past our designated time apparently they were holding space for a party of 8 that never showed, so our party of 2 was delayed. Our meal started with what seemed like overly sweetened cocktails that lacked any hint of alcohol. The bacon rice balls were tasty and coated in a extremely thick sauce they were served at the correct temperature. Our main entrée’s where totally disappointing. We had the salmon which didn’t seem fresh and was over cooked to the point it was rubbery. The Korean chicken tasted like average day old leftover microwaved Chinese food. The staff was average at best with the inattentive hostess being the star of the night. My advice avoid this subpar spot.

Totally average. Went with a large group of people, had several board of charcuterie which was ok, nothing special, bread needed butter or oil or something. Fried rice balls with bacon were really heavy in a cream sauce. Korean fried chicken tasted essentially like orange chicken, good, but so is takeout. Seared scallops with sauteed cauliflower and some cherry tomatoes was something I would throw together on a busy night. IMHO scallops needs either mashed potatoes or purée of something(cauliflower), just sauteing them felt sloppy. Crème brule was good but the chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream tasted of nothing but peanut butter. 2.5−3 stars. Service was great but the noise level was crazy thanks to all hard surfaces. I couldnt hear people sitting across from me. They validate parking at nearby garage which was nice.

Cant give zero stars but would if I could. Absolutely disgusting how many flies and nats have been in and out of all the bar jars since I sat down. Tons still stuck to the lid. Posted a picture so you can see. It’s 80 degrees out today and those lemons were obviously cut days ago. So gross.

Harlan Publick has a fun atmosphere! Great out door seating, strings of lights, and corn hole make you feel like you’re at a high end friend’s BBQ. Stick with the beers, which incidentally are served in mason jars(I miss old fashioned glasses!) and stay away from the cocktails, which I found poorly made. I haven’t tried any food yet– so I’ll happily go back to try their food menu!

Recently came to Harlan Publick with my fiancé for a date night and we were not disappointed! Lots to celebrate, so we decided to «go big» with the Tomahawk Steak — an intimidating 34 oz. slab of delicious prime aged steak. The serving says it’s for TWO people — and we did split it — but I think my fiancé could have tackled this one on his own ;) Service was great, even on a relatively busy night. Our waitress was attentive and took the time to explain offerings on the menu. LOVED the brussel sprouts and truffle fries. We will definitely be back to try more and can’t wait for summertime to enjoy the outdoor space.

The overall experience here is ok. Great location. Nestled in the courtyard of the Iron Works building right by the fountain, this is a great place when the weather is warm. The glass wall in front of the bar opens up and you can wonder back and forth from the outdoor seating and the bar. Now that it’s cold and the glass doors are closed its actually fairly cramped inside. Food is good but expensive, drinks are priced high as well. Outdoor bar use to be a big underage hangout, until the city came down in them. The bar still draws a lot of people, especially on the weekend. Overall other restaurants in the area do a better job, however this place is worth one visit.
