Actually I don’t want to give the star at all! HORRIBLESERVICEEVER! Me and my friends were looking for a place to hang out and this place look nice so we decided to get in but the guard at the door asked us ID and some of us use passport and the guard deny it he didn’t let us in he said passport can’t use it here! Seriously why not? I forgot to mention we’re Asian maybe he racist or what?! Or your place so high that not allowed foreigner or tourist. I thought passport is not important enough here for this place. Well, I think he want ID that can be fake easier than passport!

Not my favorite place in the world, that’s for sure. Too much alcohol in my drink… Something people usually don’t say, but I swear, everything I ever have at the loft is over poured and I only need one to feel over buzzed. Martinis… Let’s see, they have about 20 to choose from, but nothing really stands out, and they have not changed the menu since I started coming here almost 3 years ago… I tried the Espresso Martini(usually a favorite of mine), and I could not stomach it. It literally tasted like straight Café Patron… I will need to try the award winning Chocolate Martini next time. Not sure when next time will be honestly since I have certainly out-grown this place.

My husband and I have been coming here for quite a while. What’s great is that Mike, the manager/bartender, is always so friendly and«on point». We walk in, and he makes us a drink without us even having to ask because he remembered our standard drink order. The martini menu is posted on some extra large mirrors behind the bar(super cool!), and the wide variety of flavored and martini menu items is beyond fantastic. For the«non-martini» drinking crowd, there is wine, full bar, a decent bottled beer selection and a draft beer selection as well. Tangled Vine, the band playing tonight(Wednesday), is rocking out! The vibe here is awesome– lively yet relaxed, with good company/clientele. Band members are super friendly, and incredibly talented. The energy that they bring into this place is beyond amazing. On the busier nights, the bouncers are always incredibly polite and honestly, they’ve made an effort to get to know us to the point where I get a hug and my husband gets a «bro hug» hello. When there’s a DJ here(usually Thurs-Sat), it can get quite busy– the music is always poppin’ and the service is still on point. We’ve never waited more than 3 minutes for a drink, and are always welcomed with open arms and greeted with a smile. Even given the higher volume on the busier nights, the restrooms are always well maintained, and the bar is too. The loungy couches towards the back of the bar are awesome, and perfect for relaxing and enjoying a drink with a small group of friends. In the winter months, while there isn’t a coat check, there is a coat rack where patrons may hang up their coats during their visit. Additionally, there is an actual loft, which is private and overlooks the main floor, and can be reserved for private parties/events. Super chill look, and wayyyyy cool. Given that there are quite a few bars on Washington Street, we are afforded the opportunity to choose where to go and have a drink and have fun– and the Loft is our spot above every other bar. If you’re looking for a good drink, a cool bartender, a more refined and adult crowd(without the drunk and newly 21 year olds), and some good tunes, this is the place for you. Check it out!

This place used to be chill, but I went last weekend and had a terrible experience. Started with the bouncer analyzing my passport like he’s never seen one, then he chased me down through a crowd of people of me wearing my hat, which is fine I guess, but he was a total jerk about it. The place was way over crowded to the point where it wasn’t fun. Getting drinks to 30 min. The crowd there has changed as well. It used to be a chill place to hang out and listen to live music with a more mature crowd, but not anymore. I won’t go back.

MYFRIENDWASROOFIEDATTHELOFTLASTNIGHT, 4÷4÷14. She said the bar tender was giving her free drinks all night. She went to the doctor the following morning and the drug they used was Rohypnol. Never going back to The Loft. Girls beware.

Great staff, great environment. Live music nights are great and the DJ on other nights makes it fun. Definitely worth checking it out.

Decent bar. I hopped in and out of this place a few times on Halloween. Too much to see at other local establishments to remember much, but I guess that’s a review in itself, not memorable, but not a bad experience either.

Well, coming back to Loft years after moving outta Norwalk proves how spoiled I’ve gotten. I’ll stick to Tisane in Hartford for my martinis, but Loft isn’t half bad. It’s just okay. The trendy ambiance makes for a comfortable visit when the lounge isn’t teeming with frat-kid spillover from Black Bear down the street. The martini menu seems extensive but isn’t terribly creative. Espresso martini, flirtini, cosmo, appletini — the usual suspects, but I WILL give some love to the chocolate martini. While I don’t usually go for dessert drinks, this sweet & creamy libation is just about perfect. Smirnoff Vodka with a splash of Godiva liquor, White Crème de Cacao with a cocoa rim. Best of all, a hershey’s kiss rests on the bottom of the glass. Awww. So, while you’ll surely encounter the exhaustingly ‘trendy’ SoNo crowd, the lounge is a decent spot for a decent martini. Just don’t expect tea infusions or antipasti bobbing around. Come up to Hartford for that(whatupppppp Treva & Tisane).

If you are a college kid back for the summer, this is the place to go on certain nights. I went last week and felt like I was back at school. Thursdays they have an open bar from 9 – 11. It’s definitely an in-between bar and not where you want to be all night long.

The Loft is a fun place to go if you are a martini lover. They have a great selection of martinis and a menu(which is more important than it sounds — I hate going to places that have no drink menu). Their prices are fairly reasonable as well for very good drinks. I definitely recommend all the chocolate martinis — one of them comes with a Hershey Kiss at the bottom of the glass. One complaint is that there is not a lot of seating. It tends to get crowded in the front by the DJ and at the bar. There is a nice area towards the back of lounge-style seating but it usually fills up quickly. For some reason, the upstairs is always closed off with a chain — probably so that they appear packed on the first floor. There is a coat rack in the back — not a coat check, but a place where you can hang up your coat — which I appreciate because I hate being forced to pay an extra $ 2 to $ 3 to check my coat.

I just ordered the saltiest martini and the bartender refused to fix it. Music is too loud. The atmosphere just isn’t happening. No hot girls and too many drunk sketchy old men to top it off.

The Loft is probably the only place I ever go to in Sono anymore. Great bartenders with fast service. Good music whether it be the live bands on Thursday nights or the DJ’s on the weekends. I have always enjoyed coming here and I don’t find it pretentious at all unlike ‘Black Bear’ across the street who somehow dominates the strip. It’s always a fun, easy-going crowd in here. Try their Grape Crush martini, really delish!

when it comes to night life in norwalk, it seems it’s either the loft or black bear… and considering my college days are over, black bear is not my scene. The loft has good drinks and I’ve always had a good time listening to the bands there. It’s definitely an older crowd… but i would much rather hang with a bunch of cougars trying to have fun than some underage kid spilling his drink on me. so all in all, im a fan! although… i’ve never seen the upstairs open… and they call it the loft?

Cool, little place in the heart of the Sono bar district. Overall, I think Stamford bars are better, but the Loft is one of the better ones in Norwalk. The crowd is usually pretty decent as well as the music. The lounge area in the back is the best place to have a one on one conversation, and the upstairs area is cool. There can sometimes be lines at the bathroom which can be annoying when you’ve gotta go.

A pretentious dump with no return. Bad, watered down drinks, and sugared drinks too! Bad alcohol in better bottles and notice they won’t crack a top-shelf bottle without making a ‘snap’ noise with their mouths. Old cougars out for Community College ass and horrible, horrible service on top. Bad cover bands that play things like Miley Cyrus and whatever CC students need to listen to while cranked on bad coke. A horrible experience all around. Oh and they say they are closed in this listing. They are not. They don’t want Unilocal review here. Go to Donovans! They are real and not mafia crack monkeys like the Loft.
