Great food, great coffee, friendly staff, and the fact we are have a business in the hiker community, the décor and dish names really hit home. Unfortunately, this is completely a «self-serve» restaraunt and should not even have a credit card option for tipping. my companion unknowingly tipped generously. Keep that in mind before going to the counter…

Delicious breakfast. Garlic potatoes, omelette with goat cheese, roasted peppers and tomatoes was fabulous. My husband had the original breakfast burrito with sausage. It was also very good, though a lil greasy, probably because of the sausage. We shared a maple scone after we left, it was perfect. Definitely worth it to stop in here!

One of my favorite places to visit when I venture home. Coffee is always great, staff is friendly and the atmosphere is small-town-beautiful. I usually stop by for coffee(or a Mexican Hot Cocoa!!!) but now that I am moving to the area, I plan to start delving into their food menu!

Nomad is a great place to relax. I’m not a coffee drinker, so I can’t speak to that whole section of the menu, but they do great breakfast sandwiches and lunch. I highly recommend their bean version of a veggie burger. It’s delicious! Also, Nomad supports the community, which I love. They used to even have an open mic night that I heard was set up and run by high school students. I was really sad to see that go. It was a nice thing for kids around here to do, which we desperately need in this area. In addition, local artists’ work is always on the walls for display. The atmosphere is great too. Whether you just want a cup of coffee or plan to stay and study/work for hours, it’s a cozy place to hang out. There are even books and board games in the downstairs part. Lots of big tables and unique, mismatched furniture. Good natural lighting. Comfy couches. Overall, Nomad is a nice addition to the Norway area, and I’m glad to see them doing well! I hope it stays that way.

This place is simply outstanding. Went this morning, Killer dark roast, delicious breakfast sandwich and a relaxing spot to decompress. Go and you will not be disappointed. Oh, and unplug for an hour. No phones or devices. Grab a book from their library nook and take a break… you deserve it.

There is not a breakfast/bruch/lunch/coffeehouse within 40 miles as good as Café Nomad. The best coffee outside of Portland, imaginative, healthy, tasty breakfast and lunch entrees, food that is prepared reasonably quickly and looks good. It has a coffeehouse vibe, friendly, unpretentious, has a nice bookcase to choose books from, permanent art plus regular art shows Frankly, the shows are uneven, but give them credit for trying. A really nice place to have a quick, inexpensive healthy meal in a funky café in western Maine

Just found this gem after an epic Sunday River trip. Needed good strong cappuccino and solid food… this place did both perfectly. Well worth the 2 miles out of the way. Calming and relaxing atmosphere … chill hippies working the counter.

Honestly so good. Very nice straight up granola hippy vibe, which was cool! Great people working there. Definitely a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Been here many times. Nice quant hole in the wall kinda place. 5 stars!

This place turns me into a kitten. All I want to do is sit in a sun spot, nap on the cozy couch in the back nook, breathe in the smell of caffeine and books, and purr my approval of all the deliciousness that takes place in here. I love, love, loove this spot. I love the art, I love the food, I love the shelves, I love the airiness, I love the community vibes, I love the bathrooms. I love it all. Purr.(And I’m allergic to cats. Likening myself to one is a grand statement.) Many delicious vegetarian options. The summer Caprese board was fabulous. Ingredients and options may change with the season(love it), but the Nomad burger is always there. So good. Came here a few times in the span of a two-day visit to town!

Vegetarian-friendly! The Nomad Burger is extremely satisfying. Mahoosic is definitely not stingy on goat cheese. I actually took some off and gave it to mom to throw on her sandwich. Hot Chocolate is awesome! Will definitely return!

This place was delicious!!! The best thing we had was the Nomad Burger. Holy cow. We went there for lunch but liked it so much we asked to see the dinner menu(Fri and Sat only). Half of the stuff is vegetarian which I think rules. Means they know how to make things with veggies. Wow. So delicious. Even if you’re a meat eater you should totally get the Nomad Burger. You won’t regret it. :)

I stopped in here for a quick lunch based on the photos and reviews posted by others on Unilocal.I’m so glad I listened to the crowds. This place made an awesome sandwich and I enjoyed a local brew while I waited and ate. Definitely give this place a try.

I have been enjoying Café Nomad for quite some time now. The staff is really wonderful, very funny and entertaining. The art from local students and artists hanging on the walls gives your eyes something to check out while you wait for your tasty food or drink order. Today, I am having my regular morning selection: Breakfast sandwich on GF bread, with veggie sausage It. Is. Perfect. The vanilla soy latte I always get is spot on, every time. I have been in during every part if their opening hours(ok, I will admit, I may be a little addicted)… and it is always busy but you never have to wait long. The space is great to go in solo, with a few friends or even a bigger group. Overall, this gem is a place you must experience when passing through the historical town of Norway. Or even if you aren’t passing through, make a detour and stop in. It’s a great business, owned and operated by really wonderful people.

Oh no! I thought I reviewed this back when I ate here over a year ago now. The experience stuck with me so I wanted to add my two cents. I used to live in the area and wish this had been around when I still lived there. We stumbled upon it while heading out of town after a memorial service for my grandfather and grabbed some coffee and sandwiches. All was delicious and fresh. The coffee, the sandwiches, everything. All the people at the counter were very friendly, and we didn’t have to wait very long for our items to come out. Despite our family’s numbers dwindling in the area now, if we ever make it back up(like if we are ever up in the area for skiing or hiking) we will definitely head back to Café Nomad.

Beautiful café w/delicious, quality food & coffee and friendly staff to boot! I was in the area for work, having an awful day(roads closed, flat tire, etc) and was in desperate need of coffee– like real coffee. Sorry folks but I don’t do gas station«coffee». Thanks to Unilocal I found this gem! The staff was very friendly– the girl at the register took the time to explain what options they had for breakfast sandwiches. I got the special– egg on multi-grain with cheese, arugula and avocado mayo and a soy latte, and let me tell you– ITWASWORTHEVERYPRETTYPENNY! Not that it was even expensive– I think my bill was 10 bucks! I loved the ambiance and could have stayed there all day. As others have mentioned there is a cute area with a couch, comfy chairs and books. Also, there is a river that runs by the café which you can see from some of the tables in the back. If I was local I would be here all the time! The downtown was adorable and perfect for a stroll on a nice, sunny day. They also had chairs if you wanted to sit outside. One more minor detail– they only had organic Heinz ketchup and it was like a tomato bursting in my mouth– soooooo flavorful! I am a Heniz devotee, but have never had the organic! All in all, the best part of my day and I would highly recommend stopping here!

I’d heard a buzz about Café Nomad. I also read the Unilocal reviews. On our way to Bryant Pond for a family Christmas weekend on Friday afternoon, we stopped off in downtown Norway. Great, functional downtown with wonderful older architecture, and locally-owned stores(consignment, books, and hardware, to name three anchors that a great local downtown needs). Even had a chance to sample some wine and champagne at a tasting at the yarn/wine shop. Café Nomad was perfect to have a cup of homemade soup and coffee. Their roasted red pepper and tomato soup was perfect for a chilly December afternoon, with freezing drizzle coming down. My wife has the tomato bisque that she said was exquisite. Funky décor(great back area with books and couches and comfy chairs) and friendly staff. Will definitely keep in mind next time I’m passing through and need coffee and a place to «dock» for an hour or two.

What a perfect gem tucked away on a Main Street that I didn’t even know existed! Lively, welcoming atmosphere. Savory, local food. Café Nomad in Norway lives up to every delicious review that I had heard from friends and coworkers previously. OctoberFEAST, a Halloween themed dinner to benefit Maurer Meals( ) was so much fun! My meal started with butternut squash and kale soup garnished with spice-roasted pumpkin seeds. That was quickly followed by ‘Raspoutine’(bison poutine!) and a side of dressed local greens. For dessert, homemade apple crisp with french vanilla ice cream… OMG. I had gone to the event alone, but was invited to join a local family of regulars as I waited for my table. We spent the evening talking about the revitalized Main Street in Norway, their neighbor’s recent return from the Peace Corps in Africa, and then learned what a small world it actually is – my uncle was their son’s math teacher! We were later joined by a local journalist who was also planning to dine alone, but I learned quickly that that may be impossible to do at Nomad! My only wish would be for Café Nomad to be located on the street where I live, so that my every breakfast, lunch and dinner whim could be close at hand! I highly recommend it and will be headed back as soon as I can. **full disclosure** I was invited to the event by a college classmate who is a part of the Café Nomad family and helped organize the event. The fundraiser itself was to benefit Maurer Meals, a scholarship fund in memory of Justin Maurer, a high school classmate. This in no way affected my review, I was truly impressed by the offerings of Café Nomad.
