One word sums up this business and it’s in their name… CAKE… the array of sumptuous traditional English baking is just beautiful and when we arrived there as a family we really fancied a cream tea. However if you do want to get a scone try to arrive earlier than two o’clock in the afternoon because the locals seem to clear them out of the scones at lunch time. So without scones we each purchased a different cake from the menu. I had a lemon and sultana sponge and was in lemony melting heaven for a good 10 minutes as I tried to prevent myself devouring it in one! All the cakes looked beautiful and everyone really enjoyed them. The service was friendly but the place is tiny and when they’re busy you might have to wait for a while to get everything to your table especially if you sit upstairs. I plan to return and book an afternoon tea with them later in the year.
