I arrived with my out-of-town guests at 7:30pm on a Thursday evening. We were told to seat ourselves. After 15 minutes we had to remind a waitress that we were there. She came with menus and had to be told to clean the table first. We promptly ordered,(burgers and fries) and then waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. We finally had to seek out a waitress who begrudgingly went to investigate. Ten more minutes passed before our dinners arrived cold, extremely overcooked,(except for the bacon on the burgers which was practically raw) and sloppily presented by a different waitress. After refusing the food and telling her that we were leaving, she said that we were being comped. We told her that we wouldn’t take it, even for free. She said«it’s not my fault, I’m new». We were told the management would be over to talk to us, but we had to remind another waitress to go and fetch him after waiting, yet again! We finally told him what was wrong and the waitress said«it is not our fault, it is the chefs». The manager offered us no apology, no explanation, and no respect. We left and went to Popeyes and had a lovely meal.

This was truly the absolute WORSTEXPERIENCEOFMYLIFE at any restaurant. We were there for OVERTHREEHOURS! The staff was RUDE! The food was GREASY and they FORGOTANORDER! We went here last night. Being a Monday night, the place was dead so there are no excuses for what happened. — We arrived at 6pm, ordered some waters. — It took nearly an hour before the waitress even took our order, we sat around waiting for a long time. Again, the place was pretty much empty so there are no excuses for this behavior. — Once the order was placed, one would think they would do everything possible to prioritize this neglected table, right? Wrong! It took ANOTHERHOUR before our chicken tenders appetizer came out! I’ve worked in a restaurant before — this literally takes 5 min or less. — More than two hours since we entered the restaurant, we’re told that they are out of many of the items in our order. No swiss cheese for the reuben. No salmon for the Salmon BLT. The bread for a couple of the sandwiches was unavailable — we requested wheat instead, which they gave texas toast. So they even got the replacement wrong. — Head waitress was rude to my fiancée coming out of the bathroom — we were standing in front of the bathroom, just waiting. When she walks out, she rudely blurts«uh, there are other bathrooms upstairs» in that typically snobbish bitchy way. Later on she approached our table and announced«so who had the birthday?» — yah, thanks for ruining my Mom’s surprise. — Once OURFOODFINALLYARRIVED2.5HOURSAFTERWEENTEREDTHERESTAURANT, it was GREASYASFUCK. And THEYFORGOTANORDER. We were half way finished with our meals before my 68 year old mother could finally start eating her meal. This was a regular table of 6 people, not 20 or something like that. — When we first entered the restaurant, we had informed them that we had a «buy one, get one free» coupon for a free entrée. We reminded them of this multiple times and they assured us each time that we could use it. After they kept us waiting for so long, they attempted to make up for it by offering an additional 25% discount… until the bill arrived, at which time they backed out of honoring the coupon in lieu of the discount. The thing is, the discount was just a few bucks more than the value of the coupon — the reason we were there in the first place! So the discount was essentially a wash, and they wasted our time and ruined our night while offering nothing in return. The head waitress offered her manager’s phone number so he could offer us… another coupon! WTF? What in the hell is that going to do for me? SERIOUSLY, AVOIDTHISPLACEATALLCOSTS! What a fucking nightmare.

Wish I could put a negative star. Every bad review you could read on here is absolutely correct. Three hours of my life wasted on shitty inconsistent staff, very rude bartenders, wrong orders, nothing in stock, had to come back three different times because they had nothing available… Had to keep changing our orders. Waited forever for food. Food was really meh… Meh as in not that great. Three fucking hours. Ridiculous. If it were up to me I would have left after the 45 minutes it took to put our order in. But I didn’t wanna be rude to my family.

What is wrong with the kitchen at Harp and Dragon? I heard the radio interview on Saturday so we stopped in on Sunday. First off, we liked the room and Alison the bartender was friendly and attentive. We looked over the menu, but were told«out of: white bread, swiss cheese, chicken wings, prime rib and lobster except for in the lobster bisque». Who runs out of wings? we ordered a lobster bisque to sample and the fish and chips. The soup arrived and it was only bisque, pink cream sauce; no lobster had come within a mile of that soup pot; not even a potato. ū «Oh, and sorry; but we’re out of fish and chips too.» Looked at the menu again and ordered an Irish dish: ‘Mashed potato, beef and gravy and a flaky biscuit’ It was gray. not just the meat but the gravy was also gray. We bravely tried it, pointing out the unappetizing look to it: stew meat, pink in middle, chewed like rubber. I have to wonder if they pulled it from the freezed and plopped it into a fry pan and basically boiled it, then made gravy out of the thaw water?.. and there was nothing flaky about that biscuit but the mashed garlic potato was good, what could be found under the gray meat and gravy. Alison kindly adjusted our bill and made right of our poor experience and we went home with lost appetites.

Wait staff is horrible. Food is mediocre. Fruit flies everywhere at the bar. The place has gone terribly downhill and no one seems to care.

We came here for Friday night fish & chips. We ordered 2 beers & the deep fried pickles. When the pickles were delivered, it was a very small portion for the money you are paying. They were Very greasy. When we were able to track down our waitress, she offered to have them remade. The second batch was not much better. I had the all you could eat fish & chips. The 1st serving was delicious. The 2nd plate of fish was kinda raw & chewy. So I guess I will keep looking for a good local restaurant that serves good fresh fish & chips.

Written by my husband… So what’s going on with Harp & Dragon pub in Norwich CT?!? Ang and I Walked in at noon to get lunch(which is usually pretty good) and other than 2 other patrons there was NOBODY in the place. We literally waited 5 minutes to see any sign of life. So a waitress finally shows up, tells us they are out of prime rib for the prime rib sandwich, and takes our drink orders. I take an unsweetened iced tea with lemon and Ang gets a Diet Coke. She comes back to take our order. Ang wanted a grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato and I wanted wings. She proceeds to tell us they are out of wings also; and are also out of tomatoes, white bread We were both like WTF… I mean, I understand being out of one item, but five?! And basics at that? And on a Friday to boot?! Not to mention my unsweetened iced tea was sweetened… yuk! Time to cross Harp and Dragon off our list for the foreseeable future…

This place has a cool atmosphere but the food was awful. Ordered wings as an appetizer and they were cold and many were raw in the middle. The waitress was nice enough to deduct the wings from our bill. The entrees were luke warm and tasted terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all…

So they removed the public safety patches up on the ceiling. That was a disappointment. The fries were soggy. Again another disappointment. The blarney stones had a different biscuit on it. The biscuit was way over cooked and burnt. They tasted horrible not the same recipe as previous years. But on the other side the fried pickles were good.

Everything here is amazing… the food is authentic and freah, there’s always a great band on the rooftop sat nights, and the staff is quick! Truly our favorite local hang out!(The pool table is hidden, but if you find it it’s nice to play a few rounds away from the crowd!!)

The cottage chips with leek dip, corned beef dinner, teriyaki chicken, chicken fingers are all excellent. Honestly we have never had bad food ever! Deck is awesome in the summer. Great place!

Aesthetically this place is awesome. The draft selection is pretty large but not very diverse. The food is over priced and really not very good(bad for even bar food standard). Our chowder was luke warm bording cold as well as the fries which means it was left for a while. It was also exceedingly salty. The happy our deals are quite good so I would recommend waiting till then as none of this is worth the full price they ask. Also the service is hit or miss. I would come back for a beer with friends but never ever again for food.

Came in for a beer and as I walked in I had to make my way through the swarm of fruit flies that were at the front door. I sat at the bar and ordered a Sam Adams. Cold and fresh. So that was good. As I sat there I watched the bartender get a a fruit for a drink and noticed several flies on or around the fruit tray. Kinda grossed me out because I order landshark often with a lime. As I looked around I saw many flies and even more fruit flies. Kinda gross. Seems like a sanitary issue that can easily be corrected. Service was good at the bar.

Happened to be in the area and decided to stop into the Harp & Dragon for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by the deck upstairs. The wait staff was very friendly and we had pretty good service. I tried the Ruben Mac and Cheese and it was delicious! Highly recommend it!

Had a great time at this place. Food really good(pictures posted). The staff was really friendly. It was trivia night and it was a lot of fun. Definitely want to stop by again. Probably try some of their dessert.

I’ve been here with friends and family on multiple occasions. I do love the clam fritters & best fish and chips I have ever had, so I could not rate this place under three stars… and kids under 12 eat free… That’d be nice if a meal or a refill of a drink could be served in under an hour. Bring drinks and snacks if ur going to sit in the dining room. Service anywhere except the bar moves at a glacial pace. I’m fairly certain it’s usually just that the management keeps them understaffed. So if you plan on sitting in the dining room, best not to show up there too hungry or thirsty. I tried speaking to the management about their special events and other properties, they were not what I would call personable. I would never recommend anything but bar service here.

I’ve been coming to the harp for at least 8 years however they have recently taken a turn for the worse. A small order of & chicken wings is $ 13.00! and the rooftop bar is great however it is cash only! This would be fine except there only ATM is out of service!!! Harp & Dragon management you should be ashamed!!! Everyone in the rooftop area is complaining and your losing longterm customers!!! «Rooftop bar open» you just have to walk a half mile to get cash. F– Also enjoy the wall of gnats as you walk in. Fail! Only thing is the new GM Maggie was very nice but didn’t change the facts.

I am writing and rating this place based on their Sunday Brunch Buffet! A large group of us(25) came here the morning after the wedding to treat our hangovers and say some goodbyes before some took off for their long or short trips home. The bride called the day before to let them know a bunch of us were coming. They set up a long table for us, so we could all be together. It was very nice. Our server was nice and worked her butt off keeping our water glasses full, our coffee hot, and our empty plates cleared so we could go grab more. The buffet is about $ 19. They have everything and it is all extremely good. The quality of the food does not go down with the quantity they are trying to put out. There were plenty of the great favorites breakfast foods: make your own waffles, eggs Benedict, amazing homemade corned beef hash, fruit, muffins, bacon, sausage, French toast, an omelette station, and more. They also had some solid lunch time favorites: perfectly cooked prime rib, mac & cheese, chicken tenders, mozzarella wedges, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and smoked pork sliders. With all this it was super hard to save room for dessert. They had a slices of different types of cake(chocolate, tiramisu, etc.) spread along their bar. Everything was so delicious. We are heavily considering returning for Father’s Day because according to a flyer fathers eat for free with a party of three or more! A great deal if you ask me! The bar itself is spacious and really nice inside. A great looking pub that I’d love to also grab a pint at too at some point.
