Direct Tire & Auto Service

My passenger side windshield wiper had stopped working and I went it to have it looked at. I was told something had snapped and the entire transmission would need to be replaced, costing over $ 500. The next day I went to Hogan Tire to have it get a second opinion and it was found that all that needed to be done was to tighten a bolt which had loosened. I don’t know if it was dishonesty or lack of knowledge, but either way I will never be going to Direct Tire in Norwood again.

Went to Direct Tire in Norwood on the recommendation of a colleague for an oil change. What a great experience. I was a ½ hour early and was able to be taken right away. John handled everything without a hitch. Car ready in one hour with tire rotation. Other folks having service done seemed to move in and out of the store easily. Ray Hanley and his team do a great job! I will return here without question.

I filled up my tire in the morning and 3 hrs later had to do it again, so knew something was in there. Was in Dedham so a friend sent me to her service person in Norwood that does repairs. After taking the tire off and inspecting it, he showed me there was a screw in the tire sideways and that because of the location it could not be plugged, that I needed a new tire.
So its 3:30pm, pouring and I live over an hr away from where I am… I find on my GPS I am around the corner from Direct Tire. well, those guys were unbelievable. I needed a particular tire bc I have 4 wheel drive and they all need to be the same. Direct tire did not have one, but did they send me away? NO!!!, they started calling around to all these places they knew to see if they could find one for me. One was found in Rockland. So the guys say, before you go, bring your car around and we will put air in so you will be ok till you get to the place. Next thing I know they are apologizing, why? I had no idea … Because once they got my car inside to put air in the tire, they said, we can plug it, we have no idea why you were told it could not be plugged. They apologized and felt bad because they said oh we should have looked at it 1^st when you arrived, but of course who could blame them I had been given that information from a professional that sd it could not be plugged.
so they plugged my tire and then refused to take any money! All that time they spent trying to help me, then took my car right in and solved the problem. You can be sure when I need a tire in the future, they have my business.

I’ve been going to Direct Tire since last fall, I was looking for specific tires for the winter and Tim H was able to get me a great deal so I decided it was worth the hour drive.
I’ve had nothing but good experiences at both the Watertown and Norwood locations since then. I’ve developed a friendship with Tim who’s helped me with a couple of flat tires. I blew a tire once at almost midnight, I contacted Tim that night and he replied to me that morning telling me he’d order a new tire and have it in the next day. The next time I blew a tire I contacted Tim while I was still on the side of the road and told him when I could come in to the shop and he said it wouldn’t be a problem and he’d see me then. The entire staff is very friendly and professional. If you need help with tires give them a call and ask for Tim if you go to the Norwood location!

I visited Direct Tire Norwood to purchase and install tires for my car. I called that morning and they said they would give me a call when the tires came in. I went to their store at 4:45 and was told my tires had not yet arrived but they would be there momentarily and they would take my car in right away. Over an hour later I asked if there was a problem as my car was STILL on the lift with no tires in sight and the lights were being shut off! The guy at the front desk told me they never received my tires. I spoke with the manager and the owner of the company and neither could give me a reason why I was taken in and left sitting for over an hour with no explanation. I ended up having to use one of their loaner vehicles for the night until they received my tires. Ii feel that the entire staff, including the owner, was unprofessional and quite rude during this encounter. I would urge anyone considering using this shop to look elsewhere!

This review is only about road force balancing.
I saw two other (not Direct Tire) tire shops with Hunter road-​force-​capable machine that do not re-​match rim and tire unless the road force is equal to or greater than 28 lbs. That was for medium to light weight passenger cars, one with sports suspension. I would not go to those shops again for road force balancing.
Direct Tire, however, is different. They try to achieve much lower road force value.
Today’s result on my car: 5, 14, 7, 7 pounds. One rim&tire measured 16 pounds, but they reduced it to 7 pounds.

Ended up here after an incident on 128 left me with a flat tire unexpectedly. Ivan was very helpful and when they couldn’t get my tire in for a few hours, he called around and secured one for me sooner so I could get back on my way to vacation as quickly as possible. The service was friendly, and I felt they went above and beyond and put my needs first. I don’t live in the area but I would recommend them to anyone who is !

Very annoying, they took my metal stem caps and replaced them with cheap plastic ones. When I went back a week later to get them they were gone with no offer to replace them.

I’m actually giving a tire place a good review because I went there to get 1 new tire due to a flat and they got me a very good price and didn’t try to sell me everything else under the sun like most places do. They even gave the car a quick check for free and said everything looked fine. Guys were friendly, professional and actually seemed to care about taking care of the customer and being honest. Not something you can say about every tire/​auto repair place.

They were so great. The firat time I went in I had a flat tire and they fixes it no problem. Because they were so great I had them put all new tires ok n both of my cars and do an oil change on one of them. All the guys are great and I will continue to come here with all my car needs.

This is a great place, I am definitely returning here for car repair.

gotten that. They were honest, and fixed my tire,

Be careful, I had just recently set up an appointment to drop off a vehicle after it had been diagnosed by my dealer. It was diagnosed as needing rear pads and refurbished calipers. I think I was quoted around $ 300/​$ 360 for the work over the phone from Direct Tire Norwood.
A couple hours after my wife dropped off the car I received a phone call from a manager. He prefaced the conversation by saying first «Well you are going to hate me». Not very professional in my opinion. He went on to tell me I needed a slew of work done totaling over $ 1,000.00.
He said he would have to do all or nothing. I told him to wrap up the car and I would come right over to pick it up. In the end we brought it to a local mechanic who charged us $ 360.00 to do exactly what was needed. Rear brake pads and refurbished calipers.

Came in on the defensive, but after some explanation and good customer service I walked away happy. These guys really helped us out in a bind. Thanks

Have been doing business with these guys ever since they opened — about 20 years. I have had every one of my cars serviced there and for the most part, they do an excellent job. Now, they are not always the cheapest but I am confident that over time, I ahve saved myself thousands of dollars mostly because they only do what is needed. Too often the dealer has recommended service and they will check the car out and say that I am not due yet for the service. The few times I ahve had problems, they have always fixed it. I always go here first and only go to the dealer for warranty work or if it something that requires the dealer’s computer, which is not common. They have done my brakes, tune-​ups, AC work, suspension, and of course, tires. These guys are top notch. Keep up the good work.

This place does a great job of getting you in and out. They’re experienced, professional and friendly. There’s even free wifi so bring your laptop if you have to wait a little bit! I came in to get my tired fixed and it less than an hour and it was only $ 25. Sure beats waiting at Honda, where it costs double and they don’t take appointments!
