While not having actually dined in at Midori, I have ordered sushi delivery on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The sushi is always really fresh and good surprise surprise!!!

I ordered sushi from here once. I don’t know if they were having a bad day, but it was icky. I had to throw it out. I’m not interested in trying again.

Awful sushi. Tastes like fishy Mercury. I didn’t eat it except for the shumai which is pretty hard to mess up. I hope I don’t get sick from this :(

Despite an hour and 20 minute wait for delivery, I was actually pleasantly surprised that the food wasn’t bad. We ordered beef with broccoli, roast pork with asparagus and the shrimp tempura roll. I was a little hesitant because I rarely had good experiences at mixed Chinese/Japanese restaurants, but the quality was again, not bad. I will probably order from them again if I’m too lazy to leave the house

I really like the sushi at this place and you won’t break the bank eating here. I usually get the spicy tuna and the shrimp tempura roll. Really satisfying and they usually deliver in under 30 minutes.

When I walked in here the first thing I said was«Was this a Taco Bell?» I don’t usually like this kind of Chinese food(chunks of stuff drowning in «sauce») but this place does it better than most. Nice atmosphere in the place and I like how they make it work. It’s really cozy. We had an issue with our order, but it seemed to be due to a cultural/language barrier but they were very nice about it once they understood.

Usually pretty good, but my favorite sushi dish is chirashi don — sashimi an a bed of rice. Unfortunately they served it on HOT rice and it cooked the fish during my drive home. Soggy warm fish failure.

We get takeout here all the time. The food is always good, the driver’s are polite and the deliveries 99% of the time are accurate. The dining room… Well, the restaurant is a great place to go, if you are looking for quiet, no alcohol, and possibly no other patrons at all. Not great on atmosphere, however. I took my in-laws a few years back because he wanted seafood, she wanted anything but«Mexican» since they are from New Mexico. They were both pleased, and we had the entire place to ourselves. Yes, it is in an old Taco Bell, and looks like a seasick green Taco Bell from the outside. The hours are convenient as well, and the Sushi, for a Chinese restaurant, not a sushi bar, is great.

Not so great. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and had it delivered. It was essentially two giant pieces of chicken barely cut into separate pieces immersed in a watery questionable sauce. As I was attempting to eat it despite the fact that it looked kind of gross, soggy and old I found a a BLACKHAIR in the gross murky sauce! SOTRAUMATIZING. This is BY far my worst fear when it comes to food grossness and took me a while to recover.

Once upon a time… They used to have 5 stars in our hearts. We used to order from Midori weekly, and they had the best Won Ton Soup available for miles. Over the last year or so, the food quality became unpredictable, but the end of our love affair came a few months ago. My Orange Chicken tasted of shrimp, which my wife ordered. It had clearly been cooked in the same pan. I have a sea food allergy, so this wasn’t ok, but I was willing to forgive as long as they replaced the dish. I called and asked for a manager, and was told, ‘Manager no here.’, and was hung up on. Ok, I thought, not good but I’ll just speak to the phone guy. I called back, spoke to the same person, explained the prob, and he did send out a replacement which was delicious, but the DRIVER on questioning informed me that it WASTHEMANAGER on thr phone. I can forgive a lot for good food. But not outright lying to me. I hope the ownership(apparently disintetested per the driver) realizes that their business is being destroyed from within by inconsistent food and a lying manager. Until then, they are off our list. Update: Evidently Unilocal’s filter has targeted this review. I do not know why, the story above is absolutely true, but such is the way of automated filters, I suppose.

I do not often give 5’s for restaurants. Midori is a very unassuming place built in an old Taco Bell out in Towson. My girlfriend took me here a long time ago, telling me her brother had recommended it. So I went. And since then, I eat here when I have the opportunity. Let me explain this to you clearly: The best sushi I have ever had came from Midori. Their selection is very basic, but the preparation is amazing. I have never had sushi so fresh and flavorful, and artfully prepared as that which I have ordered here. I recommend anything with eel in it, and the miso soup.

So let me start off this reviewing by admitting I was scared. I am newish to Sushi, know how to use the internet, know how horrible food poisoning can be. I’ve read reviews on numerous review sites, most positive some negative, however they were ~2 years old. You can’t ever judge the food by its exterior.(I once pre-came from Mexican food that was cooked in a building behind a Chevron in Marina Del Rey, CA.) I promised a friend(ex-lady) a belated birthday dinner of her choice and she chose Midori. i was down because I don’t mind sushi and am always down to try something new. So I roll up to Midori and the picture is spot on, old green Taco Bell. Discolored paint covered up graffiti from nice people. We talk in and there is a Baltimoron sitting at the sushi bar, I figured he is eating here but he asks«You here for food?», No we are here to paint the building. So we take a seat in one of the booths by the window. I first was going to stick with fully cooked Chinese food but caught hell for being a «pussy», so I gave in. We ordered: Baltimore Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Midori Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll. It came out very well presented on nice dishes. It was good, it wasn’t SUPER cold, but it was COLD… I don’t think it’s supposed to be frozen, one review said it wasn’t cold. The interior is clean, it’s an old building, it’s can’t look beautiful. I didn’t see any signs of dirty, just an old building. I waited 24hrs to write this review, gave the food time to run it’s course, no ill effects. I only say that because I was scared, I admit it. Don’t be scared like me, do it, it’s good. The End.

Midori doesn’t have the best looking restaurant, but their food is good. I order hot and sour soup every time we eat chinese food and theirs is the best. We usually get the sushi if we eat in here and it is always good. The crab rangoons and steamed dumplings are also very good.

First of all, even though they have a dining room it is better not to eat here. I have eaten in a couple of times and there’s just no reason for it. Midori is best as takeout or delivery as the dining room is an afterthought at best. They have the best non sushi restaurant sushi around and their specialty rolls are always fresh and well prepared. Their Rock n Roll is especially good along with a fresh fried spider roll and a tasty Midori Roll that is kind of like Futo Maki without the egg and with with cucumber as the wrapper instead of nori and rice… low Carb. The Chinese food on the menu is typically a tasty, less fried, less gelatinous version of American Chinese basics. For instance, the General Tso’s Chicken has a house made sauce as compared to the red oily concoction that can come from other places. The delivery time can be a bit long at peak times but the food delivered is always hot and fresh. Overall they do a great job, are family owned, and care about what they deliver. I have been ordering from them regularly for years and have tried all of the other local Chinese /sushi /etc places around. Midori is consistent and my almost weekly go to place to order healthy takeout along with a guilty pleasure or two.

Lousy. We were the only customers, but it took nearly 20 minutes to get two rolls of sushi. I would rate them as questionably mediocre. There must be better places nearby.

I hate to write a bad review because it’s clearly a family business. However they seemed almost annoyed that we were there. The food was mediocre and overpriced for what it was. And worst of all the place is just dirty. I don’t mind a place having outdated décor but I just can’t tolerate dirty.

I got take out here a little while ago. I’m not sure if the weird green building was scary or alluring; perhaps a little of both. I have passed by this place plenty of times, rarely see cars. I was just in one of those crazy moods where I was going to try something different even if I didn’t like it. Well It was the adventure I expected. I waited for quite awhile(nearly 15 minutes) and there was only one other person in front of me. I didn’t see the hustle that other places like this usually exhibit. Maybe there was a lot going on with delivery in the kitchen. The place is also a little dingy inside. The food was okay, not bad and not good. I think perhaps with a little effort and some paint this place could improve.

I had high expectations for this restaurant. Mostly because I was alone at my grandmother’s house and wasn’t feelling well. It was to the point where I was sick of eating leftovers from Christmas dinner, but I was limited as to where I could go for another option. I wanted some meat and delivery looked to be the only option. I researched delivery places on Unilocal, but most of the options are in Baltimore City. Unfortunately I was in Baltimore County. I had almost given up when I found the reviews for this place. I saw that they had a website, so I clicked for more information. Without even knowing how the food might taste I was already impressed that I could order online(and get 10% for doing so). I quickly received a confirmation email stating that my food would be there in 40 minutes. That initial 40 minutes eventually turned into an hour before the driver got there. That was the first disappointment. I quickly went through the bags and boxes to inspect the feast I ordered. The chicken dish that I had interpreted as chicken and scallions grilled together with teriyaki sauce was actually a little more complex. It looked like they made chicken sushi(chicken wrapped around several strands of scallions). The sauce wasn’t very flavorful and the chicken was kind of dry. I guess we’ll rate this an «OK» Now, I have to give them kudos for creative sushi. The Baltimore roll has crab(among other things) and they sprinkle the top with Old Bay seasoning. I really liked it and thought it was a neat idea. The other disappointment was the salad they sent. It was literally a handful of cut up iceberg lettuce with one cucumber slice. The dressing looked like it had been cut with water to make more of it. I may never know since I gave it to my grandmother to eat. Anyway, the experience was okay. Nothing exceptional. I think this place could be better if they could improve their delivery time and provide better explanation about their online menu. Those little things relate to customer expectations. The online ordering said my meal would be delivered at 6:40PM, so that’s when I expected it. If that needed to be adjusted it would have been nice to have received a phone call or follow-up email with a new time.

DON’T go to Midori on Bel Air Road near Taylor Ave. I don’t know why I thought this place would be good. It is a sushi restaurant that’s an old Taco Bell, painted green on the outside. But I was hoping to find that rare gem; that little mom and pop place within walking distance of home. A friend and I went there a few months ago, after getting a flier sent to my home, advertising their food(the pictures must’ve been stock). On a Saturday afternoon, we were the only people in the restaurant other than one employee. Other than adding green carpet and getting rid of the main counter, the place looked exactly like Taco Bell. They didn’t bother changing out the signature Taco Bell booths. The carpet was filthy. The place was dark(all the curtains were drawn in the middle of the day). It was hot day outside and not much cooler inside the restaurant. The sushi we ordered had ground up salmon, like hamburger meat and all of our maki was topped with an orange mayo sauce that was really runny. They were VERY generous with the runny, orange mayo sauce. Midori, in Japanese, means green for how your skin will look upon exiting the restaurant.

This place used to be a Taco Bell so it is a Spanish styled building converted to Asian. I used to get lunch here once in a while, they had a decent lunch special. They used to have a buffet which was down right nasty, I don’t know if that is still in place but avoid if at all possible. Your Chinese carry out dollar is better spent at Szechuan Inn or Peking House right down the street though.
