The dmv is great, it was fast, and there is no line out the door…
My complaint is about the Latina worker with the «Monroe» piercing.
I go there for a new drivers license and need to change my address. As I am telling her my new address, I am watching her type it in. While she’s typing my new address, I get this weird feeling that she wasn’t even really typing my new address in. Next thing I know, my drivers license shows up at my old address AND my address wasn’t changed on my CA DL. She’s lucky that I still know the people who live at my old address and I was lucky enough to get it.
Moral of the story: don’t go to that dumb fuck! She obviously thinks she’s all that with her glasses on top of her head and her trashy Monroe piercing.
She works at the dmv and she gets paid to work there. The one thing you’d think she’d do is, well, HER JOB!

I walked in, got my number, ran to the taco bell in the parking lot, and was taken care of just 10 minutes later. This was the most efficient and well run DMV I’ve ever been to.

Organized and efficient. Walk-​in the morning, your wait is about an hour which is acceptable.

I get it… It’s the DMV. We can try to imagine the perfect world where we would receive some good ‘customer service’ considering the hundreds of dollars we pay to keep up the law abiding responsibility that comes with owning a car.
But that ain’t happenin’ obviously.
This is a total waste of time but getting to the point, the light haired Latina with the dermal piercing under her left eye… avoid her. She’s not nice. She’s mean and angry. And unhappy. Poor chica.
On a more positive note, the woman who actually gave a damn and did her job effectively is awesome. Didn’t catch her name but she was at window 4. Thank you.

The State of California is a pathetic example of government waste. The DMV hires those that are basically dysfunctional and disorganized. In Texas they have a system where you text them on your way to the DMV. They let you know the wait time and also text you back when your number is 15 minutes away.
Right now I see two windows open, yet there are a total of 12.
People, it’s time to overthrow the DMV and privatize this agency back to reality.

About an hour wait at noon, not bad for the dmv. Lady at window 4 was polite, efficient, and I was done in about 2 minutes. Staff here have always been courteous and competent when I have had to do business.

Prefer this DMV over Corte Madera. Get an appointment.

My car was broken into. My DL was stolen. The soonest appt on the website was April. I needed help immediately. I arrived to the DMV at 8AM Monday right when they opened. I waited OVER 4.5 HOURS! .for something that took less than 5 minutes once someone did help me. The people there were awful, rude, and inconsiderate. I lost a full days of work without pay. My stress level was thru the roof! I have never experienced anything so ridiculous. By noon the guy at the front desk was telling people it was over a 4 hour wait and may not get to them before they close for the day. Really? Who says that to someone. Get your frickin act together DMV. or maybe change your name to HELL ! Disgusting. Horrible. And Shameful ! This is what my hard earned money that I pay for taxes go towards. sickening!

These guys are F-​ing awesome! They always get the job done quickly and efficiently. The majority of the employees are the friendliest bunch I’ve ever seen at any DMV. PERIOD. It makes a big difference when people in human services actually CARE about the people they serve.
I went to the Santa Rosa DMV which was closer to my job at 4pm… a Mess!
Jetted down to Novato, got there at 4:30. Renewed my driver’s license, my registration and changed my address all before closing in 30 mins.
Every time I’ve come here it always been quick, friendly service not someone bent on making my life hell and dragging out every step.

There’s a reason we all hate the DMV.
I watched several people who did not hear their number called come up to check shortly after it was supposedly called. They were sent to the back of the line to get a new number. Other people arrived slightly late for an appointment and were sent to the back of the line. Meanwhile, the rude woman at reception didn’t believe my marriage license was genuine. Huh? She ran to someone else to check it. Yes, it’s a real certified copy, seal and all. I’m sorry if you have never seen a CT marriage license, but they are, in fact, real.
One extra star because the other two people I interacted with were friendly. And the second woman who works reception appeared to be helpful and friendly. And at least it is possible to make an appointment within two-​three weeks. Corte Madera apparently never has any online appointments available.

Just make an appointment no matter what. It can be frustrating to wait four hours because you decide to drop into the DMV. I have found that the DMV down in Corte Madera is sligtly less busy. The employees at both locations are nice enough. There has not been someone who stands out as being special.

Novato has changed in the last few years. downtown streets jammed with cars and double parked delivery rigs. Dmv is no longer ease in-​ease out. took me an hour to process my paperwork. (oaktown may have taken 2 – 3 hours).
parking lot is full all the time. lucky to have found a space.

This DMV is the worst DMV I have been to. The one in oakland is much bigger and their waiting period is significantly lower. I always have to wait in for least an hour just to speak to them for less than a minute, which I feel is a waste of time. The appointment system is not even helpful here either. The employees are by the way pretty mean and are not willing to help you out, especially the fat old guy. This DMV is understaffed and they do not prioritize customer service. I refuse to go to this place anymore and I instead go to the one in Corte Madera.
