Mazzotta Laurence MD

I was a little nervouse for the appointment after all of the negetive reviews and warnings that I received from Unilocal users but I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Mazzotta! He went over all of my issues with me and asked very good questions. He was very thorough with explaining the procedure and his suggestions. I thought he seemed very down to earth and was actually pretty funny. I am really happy that I decided to see for myself what he was all about.

Mazzotta is all about money. btw… check out the folks in the filtered reviews… very bad experiences all of them had as well.
I was setting up a colonoscopy for my husband who was anemic. He insists on office visits before and after a colonoscopy procedure so he can bill bill bill you and your insurance company. Funny thing I have Kaiser, who did my colonoscopy and I never met the gastroenterologist until the day of the procedure. When I advised his receptionist said «We have certain procedures here, so the patient knows how to prep and that the Dr knows what meds the patient is on» My response was hmmmm I think Kaiser gave me a handout on how to prep and the Dr was informed of my medication history… there is no need to waste the Dr’s valuable time, my husband’s valuable time and our money on an appt that does not need to happen. Her response was «we just don’t go and poke somebody without an inital consultation first. I told her that the use of the term ‘poke’ is entirely inappropriate and offensive for this very sensitive procedure.
So…when you do see Dr Mazzotta it gets even more ridiculous. He doesn’t ask questions of the patient and gets annoyed when you have comments about your health situation or have questions. My husband has significant medical problems not the least of which is unexplained anemia yet he spends valuable time going over the proper diet in excessive detail, something that most educated folks already know; when he could instead offer his handout (that he basically reads to you in his rehersed script) which had all of the detail there for the patient.
Big waste of money and time with a greedy, arrogant man who doesn’t care about healing and helping and only cares about money.
Very sad for physicians to take advantage of sick people (or healthy folks) in this way.
AVOID HIM at all cost… go to a caring, competent doctor not this man.

Don to go to this guy. He didnt communicate some things clearly and yelled at me about something I did. He doesnt care about his patients. All he cares about is money.

The office assistant lady is very nice and tries to help which is why I almost feel bad for only giving one star, but when I think of Dr. Mazzotta’s «evaluation» I don’t feel bad. I have been experiencing stomach problems for over a year so my regular doctor referred me to Dr. Mazzotta. I came in excited because I was ready to find out what was wrong with my stomach, but I left feeling worse then when I came in because nothing had been accomplished. He questioned me for 10 minutes with questions pertaining to an eating disorder asking things like «Do you eat?» First of all, I am not so skinny that I look like I have an eating disorder, and secondly why didn’t he just ask me do you have an eating disorder instead of asking «Does your family think you are fat? Do you think you’re fat?»
I wish I had of known that all he was going to do was ask me about an eating disorder and then give me Nexium and send me away. I think he is being payed by the pharmaceutical companies, because I don’t have heartburn problems :-/​and I also think that he may discriminate against who he chooses to see. My friend’s husband came to him before and they have a similar story of Dr. Mazzotta. Find another GI doc to see!

I’m so sorry that the previous reviewer had such a negative experience with Dr. Mazzotta. My husband and I have seen Dr. Mazzotta for many years and have been very satisfied with not only him, but his staff. He is a very caring and competent physician.

I went to the office after experiencing crippling abdominal pain for over a month, among other symptoms. He was inappropriate, rude, and I felt extremely uncomfortable with his consultation. After being in so much pain for so long, I came looking for answers, not to be left feeling like I needed to run out of the office.
Among other things, he accused me of «making up» my condition, when there was proof on my CT Scan otherwise. He also made fun of my medical history, a misspelling I made on my paperwork, my 3 tattoos, etc.
I had a colonoscopy scheduled with him, which I immediately canceled after this appointment. I would NEVER go back again.
