#3 on a roll with avo is excellent! Always order by phone and pick and it’s always ready!

I agree with most about the cash register guy(owner/manager)…rushes u through, not really personable… in it for the money only. The sandwich was just a sandwich… but why come back when nobody seems to appreciate your business AND the experience? U got me… One time… not again, though… it might have been okay if there were no dine in tables and it was all take out only… but it’s not.

#23 Yellow Mustard Only. No Cheese. I’ve been gleeking over this sando for over 15 years, and am happy to say, the recipe has not changed a bit — that’s a good thing. FYI — The recipe is different in the other locations. This is intentional, as was explained to me by one of the owners. Novato’s recipe is a bit zippier, tangier, and has slivered almonds and fuji apples mixed in. Yum. I want one right now. Tips: Email your order in early, then you can bypass the ordering line and go straight to the register to pay. Can someone please post a photo of food so the toilet pic isn’t the first one shown? Gross.

Great sandwiches, recommend ordering online as they get busy at lunch. Great sourdough and just a damn good sandwich.

The sandwiches are really good. The restroom and facilities are a dump! You don’t have to have a fancy house to have a clean house! We’re it not for the sandwiches, this place would get 1 star.

Best sandwiches in town. The sourdough bread is the best. You can order online and the staff is so nice.

Typically go there at least twice a week. Service is very good. Food is consistent and I always leave there with more than enough time during my lunch break to write Unilocal reviews! You can never go wrong with a number 6, hot, everything on it. Regular mustard.

Love this place. The sandwiches are so good. I’m local to the San Rafael location and I’ve been several times now so when I found this location while running errands out here I was so glad. I read the reviews while eating my #9 ham and pastrami and was kinda surprised about the 1 star reviews. Service for me was quick and friendly. The bread tasted just as fresh and good at the SR location. I very much enjoyed my sandwich like I always do at MS. Only bad thing I guess I can say is that they didn’t ask if I was a dine in customer so I had to eat out of my bag inside the store. No big deal.

Fresh and quick service. Less lettuce next time would be great other then that the sourdough bread tasted delicious. Best sandwich shop in town.

Not impressed at all. I used to love coming here, but over the years it seems like their quality of food has gone down and their customer service needs help. The last few times I went, they had no patience for me and no one smiled or were the least bit kind. They all just wanted me in and out, and I felt extremely rushed. This used to be my favorite sandwich shop, but now I only go if they’re the only thing around besides Subway. Their hours are also not very convenient. I’ll be taking a break from them for a bit.

My favorite sandwich place in Novato. The lunch line can look intimidating sometimes, but man this place knows how to get orders done fast. And super delicious!

Sandwiches aren’t bad. 3 stars. Cashier guy(owner?) is a straight up Grade A dick. I’ve never seen someone so blatantly be an asshole in a service role. He is literally the reason I don’t go there. Why add someone’s i-hate-my-life negativity to my awesome day? I feel bad for the other people behind the counter, who seem really nice.

I was so excited for corned beef on St Pat’s!!! ** Online ordering way cool & food was ready when I got there! Sadly, returned to work with a Reuben with little corned beef, lots of kraut, barely toasted, and no russian… drat!!!

I love this place! So far none of there locations have ever disappointed me with a crappy sandwhich! they are always so delicious and the bread it’s the best EVER… Crunchy but soft! I always get a turkey/salami only cheese and lettuce &HOT! Another big plus is the workers and the owner are always very nice & polite! Prices are also great and they have very good options of goodies for when you have the munchies hehe. Anyway I highly recommend this place to anyone, its AMAZEBALLS!

Grabbed sandwich from here and tried out the turkey and salami on sourdough. Everything was really fresh and fast, with good choices for chips, cookies and drinks. Plenty of room to sit with small or big groups.

I have been coming here for YEARS now and I love it now as much as I did the first time I tried it. The Bread: If you’re not getting your sando on soughdough, I don’t know why you would go to a place called Mikes Sourdough. That said it is my favorite part of the sandwich, the reason for its existance. It is soft, its is warm, it is thick. Now occasionaly if they are real busy(I tend to go in off peak hours to avoid the insane rush) your bread might be a little under-done or not warm out the oven fresh anymore, but this is rare and a risk I am very much willing to take. The Veggies: I am a huge fan of the sliced /diced lettuce mix and will forever wonder how they do it. I have met people who didn’t like it, actually hated it, but because of this we are friends no longer. The tomato is ok and the onions are crisp, but ask for jalapenos and it makes everything all the better. The Meat: As the economy has changed so has the sandwich. The portions of meat have very slowly and ever so slighty gotten smaller, but there is still enough to feed this carnivorous meat lover. I wish they had a Poor Boy, but my favorite alternitives are the turkey with salami combo and the turkey, ham and roast beef. The Price: a little expensive for lunch, but I eat lunch like most people eat dinner, so if you look at it as a dinner cost it’s not that bad. The portion is big enough to be condsidered dinner size, or even to eat half later in lieu of dinner. As for chips and drinks, these would put me over my budget so I take the sando to go and provide my own from home. «There is nothing in the world better than true love – nothing, that is, except for a nice MLT – mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe.» — Miracle Max
