I usually pick a new place to try out once a month. So today I picked moylan’s love beer love good pizza and love fish and chips. Ordered a mini pizza and fish and chips and we shared and I have to say it’s some of the best Brick Oven Pizza. the crust was cooked perfect and the pizza wasn’t soggy with too much sauce! All the staff including the bartender super-friendly tasted and tried avariety of beers and made my order. Highly recommended for a great drive out of town cool environment bought a hat and a t-shirt — proud to be a Moylan’s customer!

Alright: Food — pretty good. Their chili-garlic wings are amazing. I want the recipe for the sauce. It’s so tasty. I got the bangers and mash and inhaled it, the sausage was cooked well and mash was creamy. My boyfriend got their meat pizza and it was also very tasty. He really enjoyed it and would order it again. If I lived in the area, I would come here for good pub food(and sometimes that’s just what you want with your beer). The beer is tasty and they have quite a variety. I personally recommend the dry stout, kiltlifter, and moylan’s special bitter. The service was excellent. She checked on us regularly and we had no problem ordering as many tastings as we liked(pay by the tasting, we tried 9)

All the staff I have dealt with have been very kind and professional. The food is good and the beer is absolutely outstanding. Can’t go wrong with that combo.

I guess I had really high expectations of this place because my friend talked it up. I came after hiking in the area and I was starving. I ended up getting the Moylan’s burger with some onion rings. I was hoping the onion rings would be fresh beer batter onion rings since I was in a brewery but they weren’t unfortunately. The burger itself was pretty good and it was a big portion which is what I would expect for costing over $ 10. Service was good, the waitress was very attentive and service was fast. I would not go out of my way to come here for food so overall it was okay.

It’s a bit hard to know how to categorize this place: on one hand it’s called a Brewery — and they have a large ass’t of local brews, which makes that accurate, as far as it goes. On the other hand, if you go during late happy hour-early dinner time, there are a number of children present, which makes it seem more like a «family restaurant.» Now that’s fine; but it isn’t the clientele I expect to see at a brewery. That’s not bad or good, just something worth bearing in mind. The food is ok, the service is adequate. For me, Hopmonk is a superior choice when you’re looking for alcohol and pub grub.

I don’t know, people rave about this place. Its been here for ever and I’ve been coming since the mid 90’s. I feel like it used to be a lot better. I’ve had at least ½ a dozen meals that weren’t very good, –fish in chips that were soggy, hamburgers that weren’t that great and other dishes that just didn’t seem to be cooked correctly. I think the beer is the only thing really going for this place and probably why most people come here. I stopped going here for about a year as there are many much better places in the area. However I did stop in about a month ago for dinner, again the food just isn’t great.

For some reason my seven month old son has been to Moylan’s more than any other restaurant in Novato. When he was super little it was great to go watch the game and have a beer while the low hum of the crowd keep him asleep. Now, he likes to look around at all the action and that also seems to keep him entertained. I am so appreciative that they keep allowing me to bring my baby… Into a bar. We usually have beer and wings when we go, and that’s always a good choice. They have a ton of beer options so my husband and I always find something we like. We also like to get the combo wings so some are spicy and some are sweet. I think we’ve also had an array of their sandwiches and burgers and have never had a complaint. I appreciate that they show A’s games on the regular, which is not too common here in Giant’s country. I look forward to many more family meals there!

We like Moylan’s. A lot. They have a chill set up, always have tables open when we are coming back from hiking, and the Kilt Lifter is a really good beer(Scottish ale 8% ABV). That being said, their food is pretty meh and their service is acceptable at best. Food is greasy, pub food. Burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc. Goes good with beer. But would I come here for only the food? Nope. Yesterday I had the Black and Bleu burger and substituted a chicken breast. Chicken was overcooked but flavored well. Garlic fries on the side were really forgettable. I wouldn’t recommend them. What I WOULD recommend is the jalapeño cheddar fries as an appetizer. I am not sure if it is because we had just hiked 6 miles on a single Cliff bar, but those fries were RIDICULOUS! Now on to the service. Not rude, not mean — just kind of indifferent. Since we were all starving we got dessert. I ordered the special of the day — the lava cake. It comes out and I dig in and… THUNK! THUNK! Turns out there is not so much lava in the cake(unless it has cooled and formed into volcanic rock). I ask the server when he comes by if this was intentional and he says«I don’t think so. Sorry.» And that’s it. Okey dokey. As we usually do, I bought some swag as we are leaving(tulip glasses and a sweatshirt) and the hostess who was helping us was nice but totally lost on how to help us buy things. Maybe a little more training for the poor girl? Overall, stop by for the solidly good beer, but don’t expect a 5 star dining experience to go along with it.

I’ve been here a handful of times and would almost always order the veggie sando with the cream cheese spread. This time around I noticed they no longer offer that, so I had to be adventurous. In doing so I discovered their pesto grilled cheese and instead of fries, ordered it with a side of fruit. So. Dang. Delicious. The sandwich was perfect, and the fruit selection was full of different melons. Our server, Sarah, was delightful.

We stopped in for lunch. I remembered this place being so much better. I was disappointed. We wanted sweet potato fries, they didnt have them So we ordered regular fries. They were not fresh, probably sitting under a heat lamp. Then we ordered lunch, my turkey sandwitch was so blah and boring. My husbands burger was ok. Bread over load on both… The side salads& drinks were the only things worth paying for… Our waitress was nice, but i was hungry after we left. Sucks. Probably wont ever return…

Good beer and food, nice space I had driven by Moylan’s many times and was always curious, but had never stopped to check it out! Finally got to do it a couple of days ago and was very pleasantly surprised. The space and setting is very nice and visually pleasant for a Restaurant Bar/Brewery. The spicy chicken wings was awesome. It went down nicely with the beer. If I remember correctly, we tried the Celts Golden Ale and Imperial Stout. Both delicious. For entrée we tried the Filet Mignon and the Salmon. Both were nicely done and delicious. Our server was very nice. The only complaint that I have is that the entrees arrived very shortly after the appetizer! Not a good idea. Next time I make sure to mention that I want to finish the appetizer before I start with my main dish.

Stopped here during a brewery tour. Snack-y food was tasty but the beer was only alright. The staff were probably the best part of the experience. They were true rockstars. I don’t want to put down the brewery but I just didn’t find the beer to be great. I hope to try it again and give it another shot. Loved the easy location right off the freeway.

I’ve been meaning to check this place out for awhile as I often drive past it on the way to Costco or Hop Monk. My partner and I both had the day off yesterday and decided it was time to try it out. The restaurant was reasonably crowded for lunch. The menu was a bit generic and pricy for pub food. We almost left to go elsewhere due to this, but since one of us already ordered a soda, we decided to stay and try some burgers. I had a pesto burger and my partner tried out the burger with avocado(forget the exact name). The burgers were quite juicy. Mine was ok, about standard for a brew pub. Nothing that really stood out flavor wise tho, so I’m not sure if I will be back. Lots of good beer options on tap. If the happy hour menu is good with decent beer discounts, I may be back. Otherwise, I find the Hop Monk to have better food for the inflated Marin prices.

My favorite spot north of Marin to have a beer with friends or cozy dinner comfort food dinner. I really wouldn’t recommend the food that highly. Its mostly pub grub, but there are a few goto dishes which go great with their HUGE selection of beer. Garlic fries, no where near the best I’ve had… but you need to have them. Just make sure you order ranch dressing and ask for the parmesan shaker too. Did I mention beer? They are a brewery and offer a sampler which is super fun when out with a couple peeps. I’ve even seen Moylands beer in Japan now which is just amazing to me. I think in the end I just go for the atmosphere. Nice big cozy darkly lit room is what you need sometimes.

Went back to Moylans last night and we got Gia as our waitress and all was well! Everything was done timely, she was cordial and friendly as always, we were charged correctly and our food was great. I had the Thai chicken wrap and my guy had the Santa Fe salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. We appreciate the great service and excellent meals!

A huge menu of beer made onsite and an awesome food selection to go with it. The first time we went we tried the beer sampler we chose about five samples. I love the watermelon pomegranate I’ve never had a better beer in my life! My husband enjoys the darker stuff IPA and others. Hubby says the hot wings are really good and my fave is the veg pizza. It’s amazing. The atmosphere is nice as well and it’s kid friendly.

We’ve been here a few times now, and will go back a few more times I’m sure! Cool local brewery, and you can look in a window and actually see parts of the brewing process. Pros: –Good beer and ciders. I love their Pomegranate Ale :) –I highly recommend the garlic fries! –Usually pretty good service every time we go. –Never have had to wait to be seated. –I’ve tried their«The Veggie» sandwich, and their Veggie Burger. So they have a couple vegetarian options. Veggie Burger is definitely my favorite of the two. –Good location. Right next to shopping and right next to the movie theater. –Good atmosphere. –Like I said above, you can see big brewing barrels(or whatever you call that stuff), and can look in and see part of their brewery. Pretty cool. –I like that it’s local beer! Brewed right there! –Fairly good prices. Cons: –We went at like 10 pm on a weekend night, thinking stuff might be exciting, and that was not the case. Quiet, a few people at the bar, and that’s it. Definitely not a big hang out spot later in the evenings, at least from what we experienced. –Wish they maybe had a couple more vegetarian options on the menu. –Pretty typical bar food, nothing that really stands out to me. Would be fun to go back and sample a bunch of their beers sometime! This is a fun, local place with your typical bar food and good service. Give it a try!

I decided to come here on a Saturday right when they opened at 11 a.m. and sat at the bar. They were not crowded since they just opened, which was ideal for me. They don’t serve pretzels with beer cheese here and the vegetarian selection on the menu was rather uninspired. I would grab food elsewhere. The beer samples here come in 4oz pours and cost $ 1.75/each. Here is what I thought: Liked: 1. Plum Saison 2. Hop Craic XXXXIPA(favorite) Indifferent: 1. Pomegranate Wheat Didn’t Care For: 1. Watermelon Wheat 2. Northern California IPA Didn’t Try: 1. Hopgarten Pilsner 2. Hell’s Export Lager 3. Celts Golden Ale 4. Moylan’s Special Bitter 5. Tipperary Pale Ale 6. Double Dry Hopped Tipperary Pale Ale 7. Dragoon’s Irish Dry Stout 8. Orange and Black Congrats Ale 9. Danny’s Irish Red 10. Kiltlifter Scotch Ale 11. Moylander Double IPA 12. Ryan Sullivan’s Mocha Imperial Stout 13. Hopsickle Triple IPA The Hop Craic XXXXIPA was bomb and 10.4% ABV! I definitely would buy it again if I saw it being sold in stores. Come check them out and see for yourself.

Oh my goodness. I’ve had amazing meals, so-so meals, and awful meals in my years of dining out. This ranked up there with one of the worst, and there are so few, that along with the others, I’m not going to forget this one. The place was packed tonight, which was surprising for a Thursday night. I was told the wait was 20 – 25 minutes for a table of three. I would have sat in the bar area, but I figured with the kids, I couldn’t. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Mind you, a 5 and 7 year old do not want to wait that long. They got bored, restless, and at a couple of different points, I almost walked out, watching other groups of people come in, and be seated right away. Then, with an overexaggerated smile, the service started. We got called. We sat down. Then waited. And waited. And waited some more. By this time, about an hour had passed since we initially had walked in those doors. The kids were starting to feel dehydrated, that’s how thirsty they were. I watched as the few servers attended to other tables, and then, with another overexaggerated smile, our server came. She apologized profusely, but not in the genuine way. And I wasn’t unpleasant, but she could tell I wasn’t happy, so it was like she was trying to overcompensate with too much sugary sweetness. So we ordered our drinks, our appetizer, and entrees, knowing she probably wouldn’t be back if we didn’t get it all ordered in one shot. Our drinks came quickly, and my kids inhaled the lemonade, needing a refill by the time the server came back to our table with the calamari appetizer, five minutes later. The calamari was not good. Disappointing when that’s one of the two specific items I came for, why I’d made the trek there, rather than back to the restaurant I’d just been to earlier(goodbye happy hour for my manager, but I’d had to leave to pick my kids up). But we didn’t even get far into our appetizer, and our food arrived, no kidding, minutes after our appetizer. The kids meals were HUGE. And with over exhaustion, my kids took bites of their food, and almost fell asleep at the table. My meal? The BLTA was beyond appalling. The bread, thin and unable to keep the sandwich together, excessive lettuce, curled bacon pieces so big and salty that I could barely eat them, barely chew them apart(and my teeth work pretty well). One half of the sandwich had the crusts cut off, while the other half had the crusts on. I was so confused. As for my garlic fries, they weren’t tossed before being served, there was only a small amount of garlic almost«dolloped» on top of the pile of fries. I later on discovered when I put the fries in the box(yes, I actually took them home), that the rest of the garlic I was looking for was located under the pile of fries. Peekaboo! We had been considering dessert while we’d been waiting our food, but after the experience we had, we figured we were better off just running home and hiding under the covers. To top it all off, my mouth is all torn up on the inside from that sandwich that was too big for any normal sized human being to be able to take a bite out of. I did end up just taking it apart and eating it ingredient by ingredient, but by then, the damage to my mouth had been done. We didn’t stay long, the three of us vowed not to come back. I want my money back. What a disappointment.
