Quik Smog

I really like this place for my smog needs. The gentleman who does the testing is courteous, professional, and always lets me know where I stand in terms of cost, coupon use, and any future costs if the vehicle does not pass the first time. I recently took two SUV’s for testing and they gave me a discount on the second just for using them. I can always get in, and making an appointment (which I recommend), is easy and quick! And, every smog test I’ve had there has been done in 15 minutes or less! I highly recommend Novato Quik Smog!

I went to Quick Smog the other day with a discount certificate and when I got there the mechanic said the boss would not let him use it for my Rav 4, he said it was good for most sedans, I left and went around the corner to Randall Brothers and had it done there for about the same as it would have been with the discount at Quick Smog. Out in half an hour, very happy

I went to Quik Smog on my lunch break and was pleasantly surprised to get immediate service. I used a coupon from the ValuePak mailer, which was great! The gentleman that did my smog was very nice and professional. He even filled up all my tires with the proper air pressure because they were low. I had been meaning to take care of that for the past week, but hadn’t had the time yet. So that was a nice little plus which I really appreciated.

Absolutely the best! I was a little bit concerned when I read the other Unilocal reviews, however after having my car smog tested yesterday afternoon by David, I am a fan! I arrived without an appointment at 1:30 PM. David told me just to wait and he would have it done by 2 PM. I went into the waiting room which I admit, is not fancy. But what do people expect from a smog check place? Velvet cushions? Red carpets? Of course not. This waiting room is typical of any car repair establishment. David did my smog check at a fair price and quickly at that. The best part about it was that he’s open on Saturdays which is a lot more than I can say about every other place that does smog checks. Do these other places expect me to take a day off of work to get my smog checked? Sorry but no can-​do. I highly recommend, as an Elite member of Unilocal,that you go to Quik Smog! Take the other reviews with a grain of salt because I know for a fact that this was the best place I’ve ever taken my car for smog test. My boyfriend got his tested right after mine and he didn’t have an appointment either and David still snuck him in. You can’t get better than that. Honest and trustworthy! Great job David!

Really quick and friendly service. I was in and out in about 15 mins with my 2005 Acura MDX.

False advertising with a coupon for $ 31.70 ($ 20 off of full price check). When I came in with the car the man I talked to said he would give no discount and said he would charge $ 51.70 for a simple smog test, no star certified needed. He then said that he didn’t even know how to get to the engine of the car, a post 2000 model, a process that is not even needed for this type of smog check. He then said I would have to open up the engine myself. He won’t be getting any of my business ever!

$ 59.95 for a successful smog check in about 15 minutes. Done and done.

The guy who introduced himself as Tom took my information and my keys and moved like lightening to get me outta there! He was friendly and no-​nonsense! I could not be happier.

Honest and competitively priced — the real deal. Bit of a language barrier to start with but this place turns out to be genuine and cheap and fast. By the time I got a coffee it was done.

If I could give them no stars I would, but that is not an option. Horrible horrible horrible!!! This place charges double (actually more than double) what Randall brothers (which is located about 10 feet away does. In addition they can not diagnose why your car has failed a smog, and the icing on the cake is that they are probably the ONLY shop around that will not retest for free. I advise you to go ANYWHERE else. They are a dishonest shop with poor customer service.

This is a «smog only» shop which means you will not be pestered for «needed» repairs. I made the appointment, was handled immediately when I arrived, and was out of there in about 20 minutes. Be careful when you go there… if you approach from Olive Ave, don’t be misled into Randall Brothers, which has placed a Smog Station sign leading you into their shop instead.

After driving around Novato and realizing that almost all smog places can’t seem to open on time. I came here. Which was nice because I got to go to Starbucks across the street and wait.
The guy who helped me was super nice and friendly. My smog check was done in a short time so they definitely stand up to their name.
The cost was a little expensive but worth it for the honesty they have. It was $ 57 for the smog.

I decided to Unilocal quik smog and Ryan who helped me today for a reason other than getting a smog check.
I went to quik smog after getting my registration renewal in the mail and thinking I needed a smog. Turns out in CA you only need a smog every 2 years. As a newer resident to the state, it was very different from my former state, NV, which requires it once per year.
Ryan was friendly and most importantly honest. He took my registration and came back 5 minutes later and explained the situation to me. He said I would be wasting my money. I really appreciate someone taking the time to explain to me why I do not need to spend extra money. I feel honesty and customer service are the most important qualities in small business and I found Ryan at Quik Smog to have both. I will definitely will go back next year when I actually need one.
They were also the least expensive place I found.

I got a coupon for this place in the Valupak mailer and decided to go there on my way home from work.
There were signs and banners everywhere so I had no trouble finding it at all!
Usually these test places are pretty dumpy, but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the shop is. The place is immaculate! I also noticed that they had a sign up advertising free wifi.
It’s right across from Trader Joes, so while they had my car, I walked across the street and picked up some items for dinner. Very convenient.
I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I’ll definitely come back for my next check-​up!
