I went to dinner here with a friend before heading to Emagine for a movie and it was so-so. We tried the chips and dips, two salads and a couple of margaritas. The food was pretty good. But let me tell you, if you want to add a protein to your salad it is a hefty price. The salmon add on was like $ 8-$ 9 bucks. WOAH! We add salmon to salads all the time at other places and it is never that much. Another bone I have to pick with them is our drinks. We each had a margarita — when I say margarita I mean a glassful of ice. LITERALLY all ice above the rim and maybe 2 oz of alcohol. Such a BUMMER. And the drinks cost more than the food so it kind of sucked to pay a big price tag for so little alcoholic drink. Overall — MEH! Do not go unless it is the only place left one in the Fountain Walk that day or night you happen to visit I’d say. Sorry, Not Sorry Bar Louie! You gotta step up your game to get me to come back!

This is my second time here and I like this place. Very clean, the furniture and tables are in good condition. There’s enough room for a large group. There’s also a patio here with fire pits. The drinks are good and so is the food. I will be visiting here again.

Great cocktails and beer selections. A fun spot to catch up with friends anytime or kill time before your movie starts at Emagine.

Food was good, atmosphere was nice and Brandon our server was great! Hubby and I enjoyed watching basketball game on multiple screens. No bad angles in the entire bar. Thanks Bar Louie of Novi!

Bar Louie has really been stepping up their game these days! I’m not sure if it’s new management or just a revamp completely, but my past few visits have been very positive. The food has been good — I still think it’s a little on the pricey side, but they usually have great specials and their apps are pretty huge so they can serve as meals on their own. Service is always good for the most part, with everyone being friendly and attentive. The only drawback still is how incredibly LOUD it is in there! I may sound like an old lady, but whatever. When there’s a good Friday/Saturday night crowd, get ready to use your outside voice because you won’t be having a conversation otherwise. Overall, very nice improvements Bar Louie.

This is a review for drinks only, but it was surely enough to make me want to come back! We came during a crowded Friday night for drinks, following a dinner nearby. It was LOUD, but we didn’t have any trouble getting a table big enough for all of us. Our waitress was very friendly, making great drink suggestions and helping us weigh our options. The ambiance was dark and mysterious but they had good tunes on the background, but like I mentioned, it was a little TOO loud, or I may be getting old. It was a fun place with good drinks to have among good friends!

I regret to report this restaurant is over rated! One the food is bland and a bit over priced. We had the Tuscan Chicken pasta and I had to add pepper and a lot of salt. I should mention I NEVER salt food at restaurants. The Cesar Salad was pretty good and I would give flavor positive marks. The wrap was«just good». But lacked character. The worse part was music was toooooo loud.

We were on a daddy daughter date, beginning was lunch and ending with a movie at Emagine Theatre. Let me start off by saying that our waitress Jessie was outstanding! She was not only a great waitress but fun, kind and a bit sassy! Now, I will say that I did not want to go to this place because I viewed it as typical bar food with lots of TVs and loud atmosphere. However, this was a Monday afternoon, so it was pretty tame. The furniture was very nice(fake leather seats with studs around the sides I think). We got a table right next to the window so we have lots of sunlight and ended up having a great time and lots of laughs! My sister and I split a Caesar salad to start which was tasty and typical. I guess it was romaine lettuce but pretty light in color so it reminded me of iceberg. My dad and my sister scarfed down their fish and chips and blue burger, which both looked good, so I’m assuming they were. We were so involved with great conversation and laughs that it didn’t matter that the food wasn’t awesome. I got the blackened fish tacos. It was a nice presentation but fairly bland in flavor. I did take a few minutes to finish my salad before eating my meal but I still hope that would be hot and it wasn’t. But, as I said, we had great sunlight coming in the window, a great waitress and had a wonderful time! Oh, and we each had a tall beer. I loved mine! It was a(New Holland?) Poet Oatmeal Stout… It may have been a longer title than that… Anyway, it was really smooth and yummy!

This place is loud, there is some dark seating, the setup is a little strange, and the service is hit or miss. This is my first excursion to this Bar Louie location, as I’ve been to the Partridge Creek location numerous times. It was an evening of hit or misses, honestly, at least for me. For example, there were craft beer drafts listed(a nice, extensive list) but some beers weren’t available. Well, maybe the list should have been updated. I ordered chicken tacos with a side of tots. Everyone received their meals while I sat there. The waitress came by and just looked at me and put her hands up, and I shrugged. What did she expect me to say? I didn’t know where my food was. She left, went to other tables and came back and got visibly pissed when my food STILL wasn’t there. Finally, after at least 10 minutes of watching others eat, my food arrived… with fries instead of tots. She also brought me a 20-ounce beer when I ordered a 14-ounce. The food was alright, just as I remember it. My lady can make much better tacos at home, which says something about her own cooking or that of a chain food establishment. You be the judge. The only reason we really came here was because everything else around had multiple-hour waits. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t near memorable. The waitress was upfront and patient with us, which I appreciated. If only the servers and the cooks worked better in unison, though.

A big group and I went to this place on a Tuesday night for a 21st birthday. Their beer selection was pretty massive which was nice. I chose to order a Frankenmuth based beer that usually sells for a pretty penny and it was only $ 4.00 for a tall glass, so I was very happy with that. Their $ 1 burger specials were very good as well. The fixings for it are obviously extra, however, it still only totaled to about $ 3.50ish. The staff was nice enough to wait on ALL20+ of us as well as keeping track of who had what.

I give it a solid«meh». PRO’s: Pretty quiet on a Sunday night, nice TV’s to watch the Lions get slaughtered and you could actually hear the game.(all of this most likely because it was Sunday at 8pm.) The sangria was awesome, and we killed 2 $ 20 pitchers.(this could be a pro or a con…) Food was decent, but a little overpriced. CON’s: Server was overly attentive at the start, but drifted off into apathy shortly after we were served our entrée’s. I was feeling dessert and asked if they had anything with ice cream, but was told it was for«Kids Only».(Usually a restaurant will give you whatever you’d like, as long as your cash is green, but not here! Too old!) My friend ordered a black and tan and our server told us the bar didn’t mix beers. We persisted and she asked(and they did it, of course.) but she wasn’t too happy about asking. All in all we had a fun evening, but it would have been much better with a little less ‘tude.

As much as I enjoy non food chains, it’s definitely a hit or miss. Having never stepped foot into a bar Louie or better yet never having heard of it prior to moving to the Midwest, it sounded like a fun night out with coworkers. We went on a Friday night after work to grab a couple happy hour martinis and apps. The place is pretty sizable with a large centrally located bar, TV’s facing every which way throughout the space, and outdoor patio seating. We were seated promptly after arriving, and being a large group out on a Thursday night during happy hour this was a definite win. Their martinis, appetizers, and flatbreads were all half off so we ordered family style and got a little bit of everything. I started with an Effen Good Martini. This was one of the most refreshing martinis I’ve had in a while and the alcohol to agave and lime juice ratio was perfect(I hate when bartenders are shiesty with their alcohol). It wasn’t too sweet or too sour, and the cucumber and mint really shine through, it’s perfection in a glass. And because It was so delicious I kept drinking them all night long. While indulging in our martinis the food began to come out. We had an array Of fried calamari served with a side of cocktail and creamy Tartar like sauce, hot and fresh pretzel sticks that came with a side of cinnamon apple butter and hot cheese dip, fresh bruschetta, and spinach artichoke dip. While everything sounds pretty standard for bar food, having the different condiments for the appetizers, presentation considerations, and having fresh elements within the dishes took their food above and beyond a standard chain restaurant. On top of surprisingly good food their service has always been on par, the servers are knowledgable, and you can’t beat half off prices!

This is a great Bar Louie! I try to come here as much as I can on Tuesday nights, they have the $ 1 Burger deal when you purchase any beverage. It is such a great deal to have a good size burger for only a buck. The waitresses are always nice and I order two of the burgers. You can also pick from a Chicken Breast or a Veggie option, both are still the $ 1 price. This Bar Louie is always clean, and the atmosphere is always friendly. This is another reason why I like going to this Bar Louie out of all the others.

Happy hour prices are great on draft beer, apps and flatbreads. Apps are decent but nothing I drool over. Tempura shrimp, pretzel sticks, chicken quesadilla are among my consistent go-tos. In fact, the chicken quesadilla I had during HH yesterday just might have been the best I’ve had there(used to be regular HH goers 2011 – 2012). Aside from that, I wouldn’t pay full price for anything that I’ve had here recently or in years past; there are many more choices in or outside of Fountain Walk for quality food. There is plenty of bar seating and tables for large groups. There is also a nice patio/outdoor lounge setting if you can catch it on a nice summer day in MI.

We came here for lunch yesterday around 2 – 2:30. There was 2 customers in the building. I’m assuming their lunch rush had just ended.(That’s usually a slow time at any restaurant) We sat down and got greeted immediately by our waiter and were also told about the specials. We ordered our drinks. And they were delivered very quickly. He gave us some time to look at the menu and I ordered the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer. Which when it came out it wasn’t that great. Small portion and it tasted frozen not fresh. But it came out quickly. We then ordered or lunch. Two of us got the bbq burgers which came out missing the fried onions and one ordered the street tacos. Food was okay nothing to rave about. Also we tried the Mac n cheese and that was horrendous. I would come back to try something else.

Ok this place is loud, crowded & the food is pricey. All that being said it is a go to spot for happy hour, although it is very busy we can normally find a spot to sit, you can always catch the game on a TV, as they are all over the bar. The draft selection is second to none but the staff is hit and miss. I normally only stop by for beer or two, once in a while I’ll get a app or a $ 2 burger on Tuesday(Keep in mind they charge you for every topping so it’s normally a $ 4 burger. still not bad). Overall, a nice modern bar feel, not date night but to watch a game, chat with friends or grab a beer after a movie it’s the perfect place.

Some of the food, and food and drink specials are worth a drop in, but overall the service is so-so, maybe what one would expect from a bar chain that tries to set up like a neighborhood bar? I’ve visited this place off and one for the past several years, and in groups of a variety of sizes. We haven’t experienced bad food at all, but the service is inconsistent, flaky. If all of my visits were when the place was busy, I’d give it a pass, but at several of them, there pockets of waitstaff standing around chatting waiting for the crowd to pick up. Even if our server weren’t in the group, they couldn’t see we were looking around and motioning? It’s just odd. The staff also tends to be ruder than normal when it takes awhile for a complete party to arrive or more people come than planned. Of the dozens of visits, only a couple have been been when the bar was packed, and I can understand wanting full tables to maximize earnings. Again, many times the place was ½ full and saving two or three extra seats shouldn’t have been an issue. Still the food is good solid flavor and generally served quickly. They have good drink specials after work. If the location works, use it to your advantage. If you’re looking for something fair and not trying to break the bank, this is as good of a spot as any.

I can’t warm up to bar Louie. The last review was for the Livonia location. We were a large group — Wednesday before thanksgiving and the novi BLWEBSITEADVERTISED $ 1 taps, their calendar advertised $ 1 taps,(for that day) the waitress even blasted FB advertising $ 1 taps, yet when we asked about it, the manager was confused. So what he offered was $ 1 first round for those of us already seated. Now we should have gotten up and had we been a smaller party we might have(Livonia was serving$ 1 Taps on Wednesday — regardless if the next day was thanksgiving). Our waitress was fast with service and checking in on us but not engaging– a tad on the serious side. Seemed a bit put off that we asked for separate running tabs– Food was eh– meh… Half off apps so can’t complain. So I ordered 2 beers $ 1, $ 3.25, a diva $ 5+change, fries$ 4 and got a bill for $ 17… Waitress overcharged me, then came back with the correct amount but presented some story that the manager did me a favor and didn’t charge me for my first beer. My friend who cashed out earlier than I did said she was overcharged too. So check your bill and keep your own running tab. There are so many awesome bars that not choosing this one for our happy hour fun won’t be a downer
