Food was great, but service should have been much better. I will go back for the food, and expect poor service.

I love this restaurant. Awesome food and service. If you’re planing to go there, try chicken 65. it’s my favorite.

What a great surprise: a Goan Indian restaurant in a mall in a Detroit suburb. All the dishes we tried were delicious, and yet tasted different from Indian food we have had previously. One of many delicious surprises was the pink tea, made with nuts.

My husband and I found this place using Unilocal and decoded to give it a try. We love Indian food and the place had 4 stars, we were more than satisfied that we did. We each ordered a Kashmirir Pink Tea, A MUSTHAVE. It reminded me of a chai tea but a little sweeter and the pistachio, almond, and cashew nut mixture adds to the flavor. We were planning to start with the Sesame Gobi app but they were all out by that time(9 pm), so we went with the standard samosas. They were delicious and the red and green sauces that come with it compliment them well. I ordered the Lamb Xacuti(lamb curry) at a spice level 3(levels are from 1 – 5). My husband ordered the Vindalho de Carne de Porco(Pork Vindalho) at a spice level of 4. Both dishes were excellent and oh so yummy. The flavors are complex and you can tell a lot of time is spent on making these dishes. A spice level of 3 was pretty much my limit, a spice level of 4 puts a constant spoce un your mouth. We also ordered a side of raita and pao(bread) which helped cool our palets. Both dishes came with a side of white rice and a cool salad. There is a unique, tropical vibe on the inside of the restaurant, made us feel warm on this cold winter night. A few choice, local beers are offerec as well as a wine list and a variety of liquer. The wait staff are friendly and accommodating. We were very impressed and would plan to come again.

This place opened a few years ago and I just ate here for the first time 2 days ago. My older brother eats here often and suggested we eat here and then walk over to Emagine to watch Star Wars(for the second time). We’ve lived in Novi since 2002 and I am still very annoyed with myself that I didn’t start eating here when it first opened(at least I saved a few thousand dollars by not eating here everyday, because now i’m for sure going in as much as possible when i’m back in town from college). We ordered the kashmiri lamb roganjosh, mango lassi drink, nisteachi kodi, some naan and extra basmati rice. Oh myyyyyy GOODNESS it was so good. I’ve had authentic meals cooked by my Indian friends’ grandmothers, and this place definitely hits the spot, if not better. I also wish it was socially acceptable to lick the dishes clean, I had to use the remaining naan to get as much of the curry off of the bowl/plate as possible and into my belly. My compliments to the chef. The waitress we had was very friendly and helpful so thanks to her menu guidance, this place is hands down in my top 3 favorite places to eat. I grabbed a carry-out menu when I came back after the movie and bought another mango lassi drink even though I was still stuffed. Needless to say, I haven’t stopped thinking about going back and ordering almost everything on the menu.

Awesome seafood and chicken entrees. Have tried the pomfret, smelt fish, green goan chicken, everything on the menu is authentic and excellent! Best Goan food experience! Pomfret fry and curry is as close as you can get to real thing in Goa, India! Must Try — Old Monk Rum with your food!

Great food but very pricey and not very clear about pricing. If you order big sliver dinner they go by lbs a small plate came out to be $ 40 so not worth it oven ever seen a restaurant charging by lbs not a place I guess that’s how they trick us. They recommended to have a side of bread because the food is very spicy but never mentioned they charge for it. Great food but will not come back too expensive

The thumbnail: The food is okay, but the service is among the poorest. The experience here is awful-awful enough to make the okay food taste bad. Head to any of the other great Indian restaurants in the area instead. The TL;DR version: We had made reservations which were not honored-and we watched as other walk-ins were accommodated and seated ahead of us. The staff got our order wrong and made a few feeble attempts to turn this sinking ship of a dining experience around. They seemed confused and like they hadn’t been trained properly to serve. They were trying-but were in over their heads. Note to management: We can see your sign in the kitchen telling employees that you’ll charge them for all sodas they drink on the job. Seriously? Your employees deserve better. Seeing how poorly you treat your employees explains how the customer experience could be so awful.

Indo Fusion is better than you think it will be. Even if someone tells you it is really good. It is better than that. Every time I eat here I am surprised how good it is. I dont know what else to write because I cant really write well enough to explain Indo Fuision.

Amazing. Hidden gem, right around the corner! My boyfriend and I really love Indian food and have been on the look out for our new spot since moving to the area. This hit the spot!!! We had Vegetable Pakora as one of our appetizers, they were slightly over done, but still so flavorful. We also tried the Sesame Gobi, wow. So good. I could eat it everyday! I had the Malai Kofta for my main dish, and again, I was very satisfied. I recommend this place to anyone. I will be going back!

Came across this place when moving to Novi and everything Ive ordered so far on the menu was never a disappointment. Great costumer service and I love the atmosphere/restaurant interior décor. They have in dining or take out. Sound level depends on what time of day and what day of the week you go but Ive never had a experience where I couldn’t hear the person Im with, due to overwhelming loudness. Very simple and laid back place. Casual wear. They have selections of beer and wine as well.

Samosas are a great way to start an Indian meal and the ones here were as good as I have ever had. As a group of 5 we ordered two servings of four. They were served with an excellent sauce. We thought it would be hard to beat the taste of the Samosa but we were wrong, the Sesame Gobi were even more delicious. I then ordered the sausage(chorizo) curry and it was very good. I had never had this before, it was a surprise. I thought I was going to get a chunk of sausage but it actually came in a bowl like a stew with ground sausage and vegetables. It was very good and had a nice salad on the side. I asked for it mild and it was just right for me — still a pretty good kick. The naan was tasty and everyone in the group enjoyed the meal. Veneta our server did a perfect job. All of the house wines were good and they have a good selection of beer. The only reason this is not a 4 star in my opinion is the ambiance. Its like eating at a KFC. I like casual, but not like this – they need to work on this. Also they messed up my reservation. When I called to change it they said they did not have my reservation. Luckily I called because they were busy.

Five of us gathered here to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Dad loves Indian food, and Indo Fusion was his pick. In addition to my dad, my brother and I are both solid Indian food fans. My mom and husband, not so much. After careful review, there was literally nothing on the menu that sounded good to hubby, so he gamely decided he would share whatever the rest of us ordered. As it turns out, he doesn’t like the base spices in Indian food, so he didn’t share much. He ended up having some naan, some salad, and the French fry garnish from my mom’s chicken reshmi tikka. Note, I am not downgrading my rating for Indo Fusion based on my sorta-kinda-picky-eater husband, but this is a word to the wise: if someone in your party doesn’t like Indian food, they are probably not going to enjoy dinner here. As for the rest of us, even my mom, we loved the food! My mom’s chicken reshmi tikka was a mild dish with yogurt-marinated chicken chunks and a creamy mild curry sauce. My dad and brother both ordered chorizo curry, which had delicious spicy sausage in a spicy tomato-based curry. I ordered the Malai kofta, which was fried vegetable balls in the same creamy curry sauce that came with my mom’s dish, with just a bit more spice. In addition to our entrees, we split some naan, samosas, and Indian potato bread. Naan and samosas were yummy; the potato bread was just OK. And since it was Dad’s birthday, we ordered bebinca, which was described as a seven-layer cake, but which came out looking like a ribbon of dense pudding with seven stripes. It also tasted more like a dense pudding and it was delicious, served with a side of strawberry ice cream. We really liked our server. She was knowledgeable and just the right amount of informally friendly to make us feel at home. Throughout our meal, she was attentive and our drinks stayed topped off. What didn’t impress me so much is the seating. Although the food seems worthy of better, and the price seems to warrant better, we were seated at basic cafeteria tables with not-so-comfy cafeteria chairs. If the seating had been better, this would probably be a 4 star review.

I’ve never had Indian food before and in all honesty didn’t have plans to try it anytime soon. But my wife and I had a date day and insisted that we check them out. I’m adventurous but I was a little leery about trying Indo Fusion because it was new and very different. Needless to say by looking at the rating, the place was great. First off, they are running a promotion on the appetizers. Free when you check in up to a $ 9 value. The servers were good and the food was better. My wife had the Tandoorian Chicken and I had the Chicken Tiki Pizza both were excellent but I enjoyed my wife’s food even better than my own. I recommend that anyone come here and enjoy.

Never actually been inside of the place, but my husband often brings me chicken curry from there, and it’s simply delicious. Comes with rice and salad, has a decent amount of chicken in it, and the spice blend tastes really authentic. I’ve had it 5 times or more, and every single time it was good, and as spicy as I wanted it to be. A lot of Asian places struggle with consistency, this is not the case. They also have some promotions, which is nice. You can get a free appetizer, if you call them, and 5% off for a Unilocal check in. Definitely planning on actually going there, and exploring the full menu :)

Disclaimer– I AM A FAN of this place!!! I stayed in MI for 3 yrs and explored indian joints. I was born and raised in western And southern india, so got a flavor of authentic north and south indian food. Of the numerous places I have been to in the US(excluding NYC restaurants), This place ranks in top 5 and In MI, 1 – 2. The strength is consistency and variety, esp the FISH!!! OMG!!! I miss the taste! Authentic, spice levels are well balanced, clean and the foos is DELICIOUS! This is the only restaurant where I finish my entire plate alone! Must have– Goan fish, tandoori shrimp, fresh coconut water, chicken lollipop and malai kofta!!! Caution– pricy! TIP– recommend Goan fish, tandoori shrimp, fresh coconut water, chicken lollipop and malai kofta!!! Caution– pricy!

Can’t wax eloquent about this place. It simply was crazy good and a fun place to eat. First time I ever drank from a cocoanut was here. Maybe y’all have done that before but that crazy goodness was new to me. Food was amazing. I ate until the buttons of my shirt started popping. Really, really good place.

Had a prepaid buffet here and was very disappointed in the food, beverage and service. The food(samosas, paneer and gulab jamun) tasted very bland and I did not enjoy them. While I was eating, one of the servers came up to me and asked me if I wanted anything to drink with my food. He phrased this such that it sounded like it was included in the cost of the buffet, and I decided to get the mango lassi. He quickly ran off and got the lassi for me before anyone at my table had the chance to order. When he came back, he got a bill for the lassi, which caused the others at my table to not order any drinks like they had thought to as they too felt like the servers phrasing made it seem like the drinks were included in the cost. The mango lassi itself was terrible and I only bothered with a couple of sips of it. The only positive of the restaurant was the ambiance. They have a really large fan on the ceiling that gives added to the restaurant theme(though admittedly the theme seemed more Hawaiian or Caribbean than it did Indian).

Indo Fusion was the winner for the 2014 Best Indian on Detroit’s A List City Voter’s website, so we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in a Shopping complex, next to Emagine movie theater and across the Lucky Strike bowling alley. There is plenty of parking around the complex. The décor is casual with an island Goan theme. The positive points of Indo Fusion are that the food was delicious, perfectly spiced with lots of distinct flavor. The portions are huge. The service did not start well in the beginning until we started to order, then our server was all of a sudden a bit more attentive. I don’t like the mandatory 18% gratuity. First off, it is not published any where in the restaurant or on their website. Secondly, if you receive bad service or have issues during your dinner, then who in their right mind will tip a poor experience. We asked the server why they added this mandatory tip and her answer was amusing. Apparently, the owner’s explanation is that they have a lot of foreign diners who come in and don’t understand the concept of tipping. In order to help them understand this phenomenon of tipping, they help in tacking this 18% to every bill. They are offering a 5% discount right now for Unilocal check in and even took my phone to key in the discount at the beginning but when we left, we looked closely at the bill and realized that it was not applied. They will forget the discount but not the automatic gratuity. Check your bill.
