I love the quality and the variety of all the kitchenware they have. I also think that they are reasonably priced. But the store is so packed that it is difficult to find what you are looking for. And most of the time — like today — I have also difficulties to find an associate. The only one in sight was chatting on the phone, stopping the conversation after a customer wanted to pay! Better customer service would make this my first stop. Right now it is always my last resort!

My husband and I did a date night at their cooking class and had a wonderful time. It was certainly fun, except the portions were TINY. do not come hungry. The instructor was quirky and fun, but for the price the food was not quite there.

The upside to Sur La Table for the consumer is the amount of merchandise. The downside to Sur La Table for their employees is the amount of merchandise! With some patience and perseverance, the associate helped me find what I was seeking.

So far, so great. I love kitchen ware. I’ve been in this store three times and have always been engaged in conversation that was interesting and informative. It’s clear that the staff is well trained but will only offer deliver if you prompt them. This approach makes feel like I’m making my decisions instead of being steered into something else. The handle on my favorite santoku knife broke, I mentioned it they said to bring it in for an exchange, I did. This took 2 minutes and I couldn’t be happier. I’ll be signing up fora cooking class or two very soon.

Sur La Table in Novi, Michigan! Woohoo! We happened to see this store today while waiting for our reservation for at the Cheesecake Factory in Twelve Oaks Mall. Had no idea it just opened a few weeks ago. I haven’t been in one of these since 2003 in Seattle. Ok, I didn’t realize there were stores in Ann Arbor or Troy, but whatever. I have beautiful cooking goods and gadgetry right around the corner from my house. And they offer fabulous classes! Some with giveways. I will have to post about those in the future.(One cooking class let you walk away with an 8″ pan!) Anywho, we perused. Service was super friendly. A few knives on sale for the holidays. They have 6 – 10 espresso machines on display, and they were offering samples! My friend and I both got a cappucino from a $ 3000 espresso machine. Beans ground right there and kept in the machine until cleaning. Oh, coffeemaker of my dreams, ranging from $ 1000-$ 4000, I will just have to French press it until you are within my budget.
