The wedge salad plus one topping and a drink were $ 10.42. The salad was mostly lettuce and a ton of onions… very little bacon and blue cheese. The croutons were also almost too garlicy to eat and the roll was a soft kind of sweet wheat… I’m more of a crunchy baguette kind of person. I won’t be back unfortunately, as the service was very good and the location is very convenient. The product itself along with the price wasn’t a win.

Definitely won’t be back. I just ordered a «big» salad and am leaving hungry. I was scraping the plate with that meager excuse for a roll that they passively/aggressively ask you«do you REALLY want the free roll that can come with your salad?» I had to ask her to repeat it because I was so stunned lol. For a 12 dollar salad, that’s very disappointing. They were out of a lot of things too, a lot of toppings for the salads and out of their delicious cookies too. The manager/owner was sitting at a table with two prospective buyers that were looking to open up their own location. Normally I wouldn’t mind something like that but he spent the whole time telling these perspective buyers about what a wonderful religious family man he was. Gag me. Translation– you’re cheap. I felt like telling the buyers to check the reviews and run like hell with their money. Then he gets up from the table, goes into the kitchen and comes out with a fresh plate of baked cookies. Stfu. I was sitting there drooling. You would think being that I was the only customer in there, the workers would’ve said something like, «hey that guy, our only customer, really wanted a cookie. But no cookies for me. The only reason I’m giving this place two stars is for those poor girls that work behind the counter and have to deal with that cheap, oppressive dickbag on a daily basis. Call me harsh, I don’t care. It really sealed the deal for me when I was walking out of the restaurant right past the table he was sitting at, nodded at him and he didn’t even say bye or thank you or have a good day. It’s the small things that count.

For a nearly $ 10 salad, I didn’t expect to still be hungry and forced to go across the street to get the rest of a meal. The salad I received was about the size of a side salad and didn’t taste all that great. I watched few others receive their orders, and their salads were substantially bigger than mine. Maybe I didn’t look as hungry as they did.

Very fresh and delicious. I did the build your own and it does get pricey. But the portions are huge, some to take home. I will be back.

The food was very good. I definitely intend to go back. There are too many choices left to try! The only thing I’d suggest is that, unless you’re staving, share your salad with a friend. They’re huge!

We have been here twice and our food was really good both times. Everything is fresh and tastes great. The staff is friendly and ready to make suggestions. The dining area id’s clean. Nice atmosphere. This is a nice choice for a healthier option

I was really looking forward to a big salad! A friend had hyped it up and probably raised my expectations higher than normal. I like the variety of salads they offer and they are a decent size. It’s almost like subway, but for salads. You have tons of items and toppings to choose from. However, great flavor was lacking. The salad tasted very processed. It reminded me of those salads that come in a bag at the grocery store with all the chemicals. So then they add the dressing for you, and it’s a ton of dressing. too much. And I love dressing. I never in my life thought I’d say too much dressing! It was too slimy by the time I sat down to eat it. Also, the crunch factor of the Doritos in the Baja is completely gone :-(Typically dressing comes on the side when ordering to go. $ 10 and some change for a crappy salad is ridiculous! If it was fresh tasting, no problem. They do also offer a variety of wraps, my coworker got the chicken salad and raved about it. Hence the 2nd star. I may give it another chance, Baja salad, baNO!

I had been looking forward to trying this place for some time and finally got the chance after visiting a trade show at the Suburban Showplace. My wife, myself, and our 3 yr old twins walked in at what I would assume is during lunch hours 2pm, there were about 6 people in front of us, a family of four and a younger couple. Today there were three people working at the time, two taking care of customers and the other seemed to be washing dishes. It took approximately 20 minutes maybe longer to take care of the 6 in front of us, not the speed you would expect for a «fast casual» establishment. Having twin 3 yr olds you can imagine they don’t have the greatest of patience standing in line but who would think walking in to 6 people in line that the wait would be so long. My wife ordered the Baja salad, I ordered the Club salad and we ordered a Club wrap with turkey, cheese and Ranch only for the boys to split. Total with two sodas, two chips, and a 3 pack of cookies was $ 29! The salads were of a large proportion and the sandwich was excellent for the boys. But the perceived value and healthiness of what your getting is drowned out with the dressing and price! I would not recommend this place if your headed out for a quick lunch. Total time from entering to finishing our meal was nearly 1 hour 15 minutes. Hardly in the«fast casual» timeframe. Visit was on Feb 282015.

Salads are good, but the staff isn’t that great. When I got a salad(the Maurice is good), my wife and I two different sizes, even though we both ordered larges. We had to tell them that rolls came with the meal, and but they were certain that they charged for the extra ingredients. Not really a salad bar from that perspective. We arrived at 7:15, and only a few people were there. Thought that was odd for a Friday night. There was no employee at the bar, a bit odd as well. We ordered the large Maurice with a few extras — and the bill came to over $ 27! I ordered ice tea, but it was out. I told them, and I thought they would brew some more, but was told«it’s too close to closing. « The music was loud, and the banging of the employees at closing was too much. Between that and sweeping up by the table, it was clear that the most important thing was we were out by 8PM. Good food, expensive, poor experience.

I’ve been visiting this place about once a week for lunch for a few months now and am really noticing the inconsistencies lately. When I first starting visiting, despite the high price for a salad, the portions were generous and made the price worth it. I pretty much always choose the make your own salad option. Lately, the portions really vary in size from worker to worker. Today the person ahead of me received about double the tomatoes and other toppings, and noticeably more lettuce. Not to mention, they forgot my croutons, which I like on there after chopping. The lack of standardization is frustrating and leaving me hungry. I’ll be searching for a new salad place. The inconsistencies make this place not worth the high price tag for salad.

I did not like this place at all, I don’t think I’ll ever be back. I’m trying to eat healthy so while staying nearby for business, I swung in to pick up a salad to go for dinner. The place was nearly empty, there was one patron eating. I walked up to the counter and ordered some Fiesta salad, it was supposed to have grilled chicken, veggies, crushed Doritos and dressing. The staff member started making my order and I asked if I could get no Doritos and to add jalapenos. She said«uhhh.I have to ask my manager». Really? How can jalapenos be more expensive than Doritos? It seems like a fair substitution. So finally they said I could do that. She chopped the salad with this double bladed apparatus and packaged it to go. It made the salad soggy and weird, I didn’t like that they chopped it. Tossing it would have been better. Then after I pay $ 11 for my salad, she throws in some napkins and tells me «oh, we don’t have any forks, sorry» and walks into the back, with apparently no intention of coming back out. What the hell? Really? How am I supposed to eat this salad? Is it really that taxing to refill the plastic forks?

Im not going to be too mean because I never want to kill a business but man this has to be the worse salad experience… funny cause its a salad place. Service: Inexperienced. Definitely no staff training because most of them went off a chart. Staff seemed all over the place and the manager was as well. Food: Everyone has their own taste profile so dont take my opinion to heart. Before they put the dressing she piled SOOO many croutons which usually not on a greek. They smash the salad with what appears a double pizza cutter. The«feta greek» dressing tasted horrible. Not only did they put A LOT of it but by the time I got to my seat my salad became a soggy soup. I found 3 square pieces of feta…3. Final comments: I love greeks but it honestly tasted like wet lettuce, croutons and dressing. Just typing the last sentence hit a gag reflex. I never give a review unless I have been to a place twice but… shit.

I work in the area and dine here occasionally. While you do get a huge salad, its quite costly for a salad. I get the big baby and still cant eat it all. Its not my first choice place for a salad given cost but the soup is really good(broccoli cheddar).

I was hoping to love it! I ordered the Alaskan salad(pre-made). Like other complaints, I wanted to build my own, but there wasn’t a list of toppings, and I was really confused by the cost. $ 6.99 was a good price for the salad, to build my own would have been $ 10, and I don’t think it would have been worth it. I LOVE spicy foods, and was really looking forward to the wasabi dressing. It was so overpowering that it made me feel like I had a bloody nose. I didn’t even finish the salad. My friend got a wrap and the dressing was oozing out of the bottom, so much so that it distracted from the pleasantness of the wrap. The place is very clean and a great location. The set-up is cute. but at the end of the day, I want GOOD food, and this place didn’t have that.

I haven’t been to other locations of this chain but the concept seems like a good idea. A little pricey for salad but the portions are huge. The employee who helped me seemed a bit clueless though — like he needed more training on their product(didn’t know the difference between edamame and chick peas). I’d probably eat here again.

My mom and I stopped in here for dinner earlier this evening and I have a bit of a mixed review. She told me she was in the mood for a salad, so I figure what better place! When we arrived, we took a minute to look over the menu. The person working seemed to be in a bit of a rush because he kept asking us if we were ready to order. Granted, we did walk in pretty close to closing, however there were atleast 3 tables of people who had just sat down and we weren’t taking THAT long to browse… we ultimately decided on the chicken caesar wrap, caprese sandwich, and the cobb salad. I personally wouldnt recommend the caprese sandwich. It was on a ciabatta roll, and I found it to be a bit small and the flavors were a bit unbalanced. The wrap, however, was AWESOME. I could probably eat one of those every day! The salad was a good sized portion, and all of the toppings looked fresh. I do like the fact that they chop it, but I feel like ours was a bit too finely chopped, causing it to be overly watery and wilty. I’d definitely be willing to give this place another try now that I have a better feel for the menu, but it won’t be at the top of my list.

This review may be my fault, so with this being my first time here, I will learn from my mistakes and give this place another shot. I came here after a work out session so I was hungry like a bear and didn’t want to ruin my hour work out with a greasy burger or fried chicken. I saw this place and assumed it was like salad creations which is a lot closer to where I live. Don’t judge me. but I hate ordering salads at restaurants. Unless you have something awesome on that salad or your dressings are so unique that I just have to try it, I really hate ordering salads when I can maybe make the same salad at home. I guess you can say that about almost everything but you get my drift. Anyways I head inside and as a newcomer I was trying to read the menu and make a decision on what was going to calm down my hungry belly. While reading the menu the lady behind the counter was growing impatient and asked if I made a decision yet. Obviously if I’m still looking at the menu, I haven’t. so I rushed and made the decision to go with the Marina. I must have said this wrong when I ordered it because the lady who asked me if I was ready then corrected the way I said this salad but reassured me that a lot of people mispronounce it. WHAT?! The salad had a lot of potential: iceberg lettuce, spinach, bacon, egg, red onion, crispy noodles, broccoli and sunflower seeds. It came with honey mustard dressing that I asked to be on the side. Maybe my mistake but I asked if she could mix oil and vinegar in the salad as my dressing and holy cow. SO much vinegar that it ruined my salad. Like quenched every time I took a bite ruined. Now this could be my fault again. sometimes it’s hard to mix the right amount of oil and vinegar but subway seems to do it right every time I ask for it on my sub. Another thing that bothered me, I guess she thought I said I wanted a bread roll so when I told her that I didn’t she threw it away! Don’t waste it! I totally felt bad for saying no. The portion size is amazing, the environment is very quiet and cute and they also offer soups, wraps and sandwiches. Again, my salad sounded awesome, I just wish I could have gone back in time before making the horrible mistake of asking for oil and vinegar. I will try this again! Minus the vinegar.

I REALLY wanted to love it here. I don’t see myself coming back, which is a bummer. I stopped in for lunch and was so excited to finally give this place a try. There was a half dozen or so people in front of me, so I was glad to have some time to look over the menu, which was confusing. They have some options for ‘pre designed salads” which included the typical caesar, greek, antipasto, cobb and also a southwestern(I think a couple more as well). To me, the big draw to this place was the fact that you could build your own salad. But, they don’t list all of their toppings anywhere. You only see the toppings available when you are actually in the middle of building your salad. For someone like me who is extremely indecisive, I did not like this. I noticed that there were more people gathering in line behind me, so I just went with the Greek salad — menu price $ 6.99. So, the guy starts making my salad. He puts beets, onions, tomato and feta on the salad. I asked for chick peas, olives and banana peppers to be added, to which he told me would be an additional 65 cents per item. If I wanted chicken it would be an additional $ 2.75. I politely declined the additional toppings and ate my greek salad(if you can call it that) as the menu dictates. So, here’s the dilemma. Yes — the salad was good. I liked the chilled plate, that they chop your salad for you and it was a decent sized salad. But why wouldn’t I just go to the coney island 100 ft away, and get a real greek salad, with chicken for the same price? I guess if you want to have a designer greek salad experience, this is the place to be. I’m not that fancy. I silently ate my salad, restrained from Unilocaling my complaints on the spot.

Not quite sure what that was. Lettuce and very average toppings = a $ 20.00 chopped sour tasting salad. I make better at home. Not sure why anyone would go back to this place. On the positive, the place was clean, the service was fine, the fixings were fresh, but if you are going to call your self a Big Salad place, you have to attract patrons with something more then 3 kinds of lettuce and sour italian dressing. Not good.

We were on our way into Pei Wei tonight and noticed Big Salad next door. I had heard good things but had never been there before. We decided spur of the moment to go in and try it. We both ordered off the main menu, I think they call it their«entrée salads». We did not«build our own». I chose the Mariana salad, my partner chose the Club. We were both very pleased with our salads. They tasted great, the portions were just right and they were served on chilled plates with just the right amount of dressing. The restaurant itself was empty at the time(about 6PM on a Friday) so we had the place to ourselves. With a beverage our meal came to about $ 19. All in all we were pleased with our meal and when we are in the area Big Salad will definitely be on our list of places to eat.
