East Gate Apartments of Nutley

Lived there for a year and had to get out ASAP, the one bedroom was over priced, they stuff families of 3+ inside a one bedroom so constant stomping over my head. Faced with ants and roaches from outside and other tenants. You have to purchase and change the light bulbs yourself. Where do they get off labeling it a luxury apartment complex? They didn’t even shovel the snow on time, all stairs were iced even after 9am from an overnight snowstorm which could cause a dangerous and even fatal staircase fall injury. I had a better experience living at Nutley properties, even without the in-​unit washer dryer. There was never any available parking close to my unit resulting in a quarter mile walk after 8pm and was threatened to be towed in the only available parking reserved for the 2 bedroom apartment occupants. They didn’t clean the apartment before I moved in so had the greeting of baked on grease on the stove and an old stained toilet seat in the bathroom. Hallway door knobs constantly fell off (fire escape route danger), often had toilet water leaks from the apartment above (still grossed out about that one) and the hallway always smelled like cigarette smoke which would then flood into the apartment so had to put a fan outside my door so I could reduce my chances of cancer. Even getting my security deposit was a months wait and you have to give 2 months notice before moving out. I wouldn’t move back even if they paid me. My new place is cheaper, has more bedrooms and an actual kitchen rather than a combination living room, dining room and kitchen all in one. Please don’t fall for their scam, the glitter isn’t gold people, save your hard earned money for a better value than what these thieves have to offer. They are lucky I was in a rush to move due to uncontrollable circumstances. If I could leave negative stars somehow on this app I would definitely do so. I really hope the state somehow shuts these nitwits down because they are just high priced slumlords. Oh yea almost forgot, who puts on the sprinklers at 3am??? These ppl do, so you can’t even sleep with the windows open as a light sleeper.
And if any of you folks are reading this who own/​operate at east gate, get your act together and learn how to actually build and manage a property!
