Love this place. The first time I came here was for lunch with a friend. Got the special, soup and ½ sandwich. It was more than enough. Their portions are very good. I have had their eggplant parmigiana as well as the chicken parmigiana several times because I love the way they make them. If you can, get a bowl of their Pasta Fagioli. It is terrific. Pizza — If you want thin, this is the place. Their pizza is ultra thin and cooked right to the edge where it is nice and crispy. So delicious. Did I say thin? You could eat ¾ of a pie yourself. I have not tried their Sicilian. I highly recommend this place. One warning — it is noisy at night. and can be crowded.

We loved this place. We had great Chicken Marsala. Salad is fresh. Homey atmosphere with delicious food. Staff was helpful and was attending quickly.

Not great… I’ve heard that they use to have awesome pies but the pizza was just ok at best. Ordered a grandma and it was basically a super skinny plain cheese pie. Nothing special. Price was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

I just ordered a Sicilian pizza and unfortunately I am disappointed. While the pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese are tasty the dough did not rise enough, I ended up with tasty pizza sauce and mozz cheese on raw dough. Come on Michaels don’t rush it, let the dough rise and the Sicilian pie would be good.

I’ve depended on Michael’s for catering a couple of special events and they did not disappoint. The service is helpful and friendly and there are many options on their catering menu. For my most recent event, I ordered: –Fried Calamari — This was a crowd pleaser. The exterior remained crispy and the meat was not rubbery at all. –Spinach Ravioli — tasty with the tomato sauce –Baked Ziti — good hearty dish, kid friendly too –Eggplant Rollatini — my favorite. breaded eggplant stuffed with cheese and covered in marinara sauce. Comforting and delicious.(Happy there were leftovers which kept well after a couple days.) The pricing is reasonable for half and full trays and delivery within Nutley was only $ 1. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for catering.

Well place is ok food is not the best but not the worst, what killed this place for me was the owners attitude I wanted to book a party there for my family but he wouldn’t even come out to talk to us, he had his waitress brush us off. In the restaurant business you have someone who want to book a 50 – 70 person reservation you don’t blow them off. Especially on a week night well his loss. Now the food calamari was good pizza was thin but burnt, it’s fine I like it burnt, I wouldn’t go back due to the owners attitude

Tonight was the second time having pizza here, the tinny-thin is the way to go! The fried calamari is cooked perfectly and the garlic knots are great. Our server was Antonio and recommended the thinny-thin with the Zinga topping. If you like spicy with a great taste, that is the way to go. Kudos to the wait staff, they know the menu and make great recommendations.

I adore this little Italian Restaurant! The food is always amazing and the service is great! I met the owner there one time and he is a great guy as well! I have gotten a few items off their menu and I must say, I have been happy every single time! One of their desserts that is like a chocolate mousse is simply to die for! This place is always my go to for Italian!

Came because of the acclaimed pizza — Star Tavern far superior. Tried the pasta and chicken — Princess Marg. in Nutley far superior. Uninspired service. Proceed with caution.

Red sauce on pizza and pasta is way too acidic… not good at all. Chicken is good once you scrape off all the sauce. People right next to us said the same thing, pretty sure we both headed to CVS after for heartburn pills.

I had the $ 7.95 lunchSpecial. It was very good tasty and just the right amount. I had the following and there was a greAt diversity of different choices.
I had Chicken Pastina soup, with a grilled chicken fresh mozzarella and broccoli rabe sandwich dressed with a house mixed olive oil. With never ending bread and garlic knots and a Sprite. You really can’t go wrong, and I’m full but not stuffed.

We love this place! We moved from NJ to SC, and whenever we come back up to visit, we include this place in our plans. The absolute best Italian food!!!

I’ve always had catered lunches from here and I never had any complaints. Grilled chicken, grilled vegetables, thin crust pizza and paninis. Yeah I had it all. No complaints all delicious. Today I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad. It looked good from the view but then when I got to the bottom it was watery. Meaning croutons and salad was soggy. Who wants a watery soggy salad? I even got the dressing on the side because I didn’t want it soggy bro. You need a salad spinner michael. You almost had me there.

God awful food!!! My nephew ordered an eggplant parm sandwich. The eggplant was rock hard like it had been frozen and then totally overlooked. We sent it back and received another one. The second one was the same. We told the waiter to have the chef eat it. Cold antipasto for two had greens on the bottom that were turning yellow because they were old. Long hot peppers and potatoes with sausage was incredibly greasy. You would think the mgr would have come over due to the fact that both eggplant parm sandwiches were sent back, but nothing… No one came to our table and I don’t even think there was a manager there. Kids that worked there were talking amongst themselves and checking their cell phones. Waiter was nice and it wasn’t his fault but the most basic of sandwich was screwed up twice and that’s unacceptable. He did remove it from the bill. Will not be returning.

One of the best pizza ever in nj. They give star tavern a good run for their money. A little on the pricey side but I would always pay more for a good pie. Delivery is fast.

I’ve never had a bad meal here! Homey atmosphere with delicious food. Waitstaff and hosts are welcoming, attentive, and seem to really enjoy working at the restaurant. My order is typically a Thinnie Thin pie or two or three — it can be as addictive as candy! This pizza is not your average type or even your average thin pie, because the«crust» is made of oven charred cheese. I describe the flavor to be intense like a Cheez-it cracker. If you like sauce and carbs with your pizza, this is a totally different taste and texture experience! Also outstanding is the chicken marsala — and I don’t like mushrooms! Salad is always fresh but can be expensive if you are trying to serve a larger party.

Great place. We came here tonight for my boyfriend’s brother’s birthday. The restaurant is very cozy. The décor has a very homey feel. We were immediately seated and waiter promptly brought out water and took our drink orders. They gave us some bread and garlic knots to start. OMG, those garlic knots. So freakin’ delicious. Probably the best garlic knots I’ve ever had. We had our waiter bring out another basket because we devoured them so quickly. Definitely off to a good start. I can’t remember all the dishes ordered, but I remember there being penne vodka(I ordered this), chicken parm, and chicken marsala. The chicken parm is heavenly. The chicken is breaded nicely and it tastes very juicy. Pretty good in my book, but then again, the only comparison I have is to Olive Garden, and well, anything is better than Olive Garden LOL. My penne vodka was really good, the only disappointment is that it came with so little peas and prosciutto. I think I counted 10 peas and 5 prosciutto bits. That was a sad moment. The pasta was good, but it would’ve been 10 times better with more peas and proscciutto. In terms of price, I think this place is a bit pricey, but the free garlic knots make up for it. Overall, a good place to grab dinner with the family. Definitely try the garlic knots while you’re there.

This is a pick-up your pizza review! My friends and I like to order a bunch of pies and pick them up. The pizza has a thin crust; thin enough to be crispy but not too thin as to flake apart in your hands. We typically only have to wait about 20 minutes for pickup which I think is pretty reasonable. I love the meatball pizza and sausage and pepper pizza. I would also recommend the white pie with spinach, but not as much as a pizza with some of those meats on it. Pro tip: Michael’s pizza is perfect for heating up in the oven again a couple hours later. Get enough pizza for all day!

I ordered a slice of pizza and grilled chicken over salad. I did not care for the pizza because it lacked flavor. Although I did enjoy the thin crust aspect. The grilled chicken over salad was just okay. It was pretty basic, but definitely could have had more flavor as well. Good atmosphere; cozy and chic.
