New Man Hing

If you want that classic Chinese take out style Chinese food then New Man Hing is the place to call. The portions are huge, the food is good (my favorites are the pork dumplings and sesame noodles), and they are always fast. There have been times when I order six or seven dishes and the bill is never more than $ 40 and it always takes 15 – 30 minutes. They even delivered to my house during that really terrible awful crippling snowstorm this past winter so yea, New Man Hing is preeeetty amazing.

I mainly come here for the steamed or fried pork dumplings– they’re out of this world! I especially LOVE the brown sauce they give you to go along with the dumplings, its extremely flavorful and really compliments the dumplings perfectly. I always ask for extra sauce for the dumplings when I order. I have tried a few other things from here like the lo mein and fried rice, but I keep coming back for the dumplings because I think they’re the best ones around! I have never ordered for delivery, but when I either call ahead to order, or just go up to the counter and order, my food is always ready very quickly and I never have to wait very long. Parking can be a little tricky because there are a few spaces in front of the restaurant, then there is a side street nearby where you can sometimes snag a parking spot. Overall, a simple place with good, quality Chinese food!

Good neighborhood Chinese takeout. Standard Chinese menu that is fresh and well prepared. Good prices and generous portions. No frills, best for take out or delivery, though there are a few tables, no tv, music or WiFi. Super nice owners Jennifer and Danny work hard to serve their customers.

I was debating a 3 or 4 star, but the more I thought about it, I kept leaning towards 3. Now I’d say for the Chinese takeout I’ve had in the area so far, this place has been far better. But at the same time, I don’t think it was an above-​average Chinese takeout location.
I kept it simple since I was only ordering for myself. Shrimp roll, steamed pork dumplings, and a beef w/​broccoli combo that came with pork fried rice and wonton soup.
The pork dumplings were good. And considering the price was standard AND you got 10 dumplings (I think most places go with an order of 8, occasionally 6) you’re getting a good quantity. The wonton soup was also good. The wonton noodle wasn’t over-​cooked and the broth was tasty. For the combo, I was happy to see their rice isn’t that strange, yellow fried rice you sometimes get at Chinese places. It’s not brown rice, but upon the frying/​stir-​fry, the rice becomes brown. The sauce was good on the beef w/​broccoli. Not overly oily or salty. Broccoli was crisp and the beef had a good texture.
While not the best, basic Chinese takeout I’ve ever had, it’s currently leading for my local place.

It’s OK. Still searching for my go-​to chinese spot in the area. If your looking for a cheat night from the gym to stay in and be fat this isn’t the spot. Def not worth the cheat.

Order from here all the time. Not one of those «hit or miss» places. They’re very consistent. Portion size is excellent. Delivery is always arrives on time or before the allotted time frame they give you. They stopped accepting credit cards for delivery so just make sure you have cash!

Tastes like typical Chinese takeout. Portions are similar to other takeout places, if not a little bit bigger. I ordered for pickup and it was ready when I got there. I got the chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice and an eggroll and thought it was tasty. Just be aware that there is a $ 10 minimum for credit cards, so bring cash if you’re just getting one meal.

The best local Chinese take out food around. Always hot fresh and tastes great! I have never been sorry with anything I have gotten There.

Surprisingly the food isn’t too bad. It also comes very fast like 25 minutes which is great. No real issues here but the quality could be better. The dumplings are good and the garlic chicken is too.

Awful. Everything was really really sweet. Chow fun was mush. I went there and wrote my order for her but she insisted I read it to her. They got one dish wrong and I ended up with two orders of mush instead of one. Fried dumplings were like leather. Salvaged what we could by picking out the proteins. Threw out the rest. Good thing it was relatively cheap. Won’t be going back.

One of my favorite parts of moving to Nutley. I will never order from another place again. Unless I don’t have cash lol because they don’t take cards over the phone. minus one star due to lack of convenience. I rarely have cash and if I wanted to go get my food, I would go to a restaurant. But Cheese wontons are awesome. All the chicken dishes are so fresh. The rice and noodles are not too greasy. The egg roll doesn’t drip with oil and is light and flaky.

We ordered from here for the first time and were very happy with the food. Delivery was really quick and the food was nice and hot. Vegetables were really fresh and the dumplings were great. We will definitely order from them again

I’ve been ordering food from New Man Hing for about 10 years now. They serve consistent, excellent, non-​greasy Chinese food. The place is not much to look at… typical busy Chinese kitchen with a few small tables. But no matter, since I almost always phone in my order for delivery, and no matter how busy they are on a Friday or Saturday night, the food comes within 20 minutes.
I don’t order your typical Chinese food, since most of it will clog your arteries and kill you if you have it regularly. Here is what I order: Young Chow wonton soup, steamed chicken and string beans and steamed pork and broccoli with garlic sauce on the side, vegetable fried rice, and maybe an eggroll.
The soup is excellent. Young chow wonton soup comes in a large quart container and has a little bit of everything… four wontons, chicken, pork, shrimp, and lots of vegetables. It is always consistently excellent.
The string beans and broccoli in the steamed dishes I order are always very fresh and delicious, and the chicken is very, very good too. It is sliced chicken breast with no fat, and very tender. The pork is excellent too. I usually take some vegetable fried rice and the two steamed dishes and mix them with a drizzle of garlic sauce on top, and it makes a great meal that is not as unhealthy as your typical Chinese food.
I’ve ordered this probably once a week for the past 10 years, and it is consistently high quality. I highly recommend New Man Hing.

Great delivery. Fresh food. They stopped taking credit card payments which makes it a bit inconvenient.

I ordered delivery on a weekday afternoon, and the delivery man was prompt and polite. The food was reasonably priced; it was decent, although not outstanding. All in all, pretty good for take out.

I think this is the best chinese food I’ve had (not only in the area) but anywhere, because it’s clean, never tastes greasy, and my food always tastes fresh. I dread ordering chinese at the place by my job because it’s never close to NMH. Fried dumplings, all the way! My favorite. Prices aren’t bad either. Keep it up Danny!

Best chinese in the area HOWEVER they recently stopped taking credit card payments over the phone for delivery. Only way to pay for delivery is cash. Too bad I really liked them, I’ll send my money over to New King Chef.
Would be a four star rating if wasn’t for the payment issue.

Clean, non greasy, tasty Chinese food.
We ordered take out: mooshu pork, general tso, pepper steak, seafood lo mein, vegetable chop suey.
Everything was delicious. Definitely a great place to order food.

Being from LA, I’ve definitely had my share of good Chinese food. But there’s something about Chinese food on the East Coast that makes it pretty special.
I ordered a steamed vegetable dish and chicken chow fun. Both dishes were tasty and affordable (~$ 12 with tip), and delivery was pretty fast, even though they say it takes ~45 minutes. They take credit card orders under $ 25 over the phone.
The place seems to be busy all the time though. When I called to place an order, it took me a few tries to get through, because I kept getting a busy tone. Maybe it’s time to consider online ordering or something!
