I drove 30min, went there for advice & wound up getting a new board. I never felt pressured to buy anything. The owner is very nice & incredibly helpful.

I’m new to skateboarding, and as someone who is new to the sport, «old» (for skateboarding!), and female, I was a little nervous about going to a skate shop. Were they going to mock me? Ignore me? Would they assume I was buying stuff for my boyfriend or son?
My fears were totally unfounded. The salesman was extremely friendly, helpful, non-​judgmental, and took the time to help me pick out the best skateboard for my needs. He didn’t seem interested in upselling, and asked what I was looking to spend, and pointed me towards boards in my range that suited my needs. The store itself is clean and non cluttered, and they seem to have a large selection of boards, parts, shoes, and clothing. It was a really great shopping experience. Also, I’m really pleased with the board I got and I’ve been having a lot of fun skating! Would definitely go back to Underground in the future.
