Move over Russell Stover and hello to The European Chocolate Shoppe Chocolaterie!
Sherry was a total sweetheart and down to Earth. Her Shoppe is funky and so freaking unique!

I am not a chocoholic but this place may turn me into one. I came in for Kinder but I couldn’t resist the fresh smell of chocolate. I ended up buying a few assorted chocolates, and I was not disappointed! I love the intimate mom, and pop ambiance. The owner is so pleasant, and kind. She is very helpful, and not pushy at all. I don’t normally gush about owners or managers but she just seemed like such a genuinely nice person. I will definitely be back!

One of the bests chocolates I’ve ever had. Bar none. I got a box as a gift. Every single chocolate has so much character — and beautifully presented — and tastes heavenly. I hardly would write a review about chocolate — but this one deserves all the lovin’.

Ehh. I was so disappointed with my stale chocolate covered pretzel. Maybe the prepackaged candy is better. Sweet girl at the counter. I love chocolate but didn’t think this place did it for me. Maybe it was an off day for the baker

This review is only for the Chocolate truffles that were purchased about 2 weeks ago. My husband and I decided to try their truffles and thought it tasted awful; it tasted like Russell Stover boxed chocolates from the pharmacy or general store. You’re better off buying packaged Lindt truffles. The service was great though…

Pros: The chocolate was SUPERB! WOW! I tried their chocolate coconut pieces– if you are a fan, absolutely try it out!
Con: Price tag! 4 small pieces came out to a little less than $ 3. Maybe that’s good– anything less expensive, and I would be going there more often!

All of the random chocolates I picked out tasted really good, but 9 pieces of chocolate came out to 11 dollars. They’re good but kind of expensive for what you’re getting.

I visited Nyack (and this chocolaterie) for the first time about a week ago. This charming little shop has a carefully edited selection of meticulously presented, high quality European chocolates, some of which are quite difficult to find elsewhere. The proprietor was very welcoming, attentive, and gracious.
My friend and I chose pieces from their selection of bulk Belgian chocolates with the intention of slowly indulging in them over the course of the night. Despite our best efforts, it definitely did not go down this way: these chocolates were so good they were gone in half an hour! Everything about these chocolates – from the delicate balance of flavors and ratio of sweetness-​to-​bitterness to the richness and texture – far exceeded our expectations. After finishing the last piece, I absolutely had to go back to the shop for more. I purchased selections from their bulk chocolates as a gift for someone and for several days thereafter, the chocolates were still getting rave reviews. I will absolutely make a point of returning to Chocolaterie whenever I am in Nyack!

I love this store. Pricey, but worth it. How much perfect chocolate can you eat anyway? Try Pink Peppercorn bar!

This place is awesome. They have hot chocolate, not the Nesquick stuff — real hot chocolate sticks from Belgium that you melt in hot milk. They have delicious tiny goods that are scrumptious, beautiful and unique. Best of all, they have a reward/​loyalty program so whenever you need a chocolate fix, they give you reasons to come back. The girl that works here is super sweet. Good place. Good vibe.

This is what you would call a true Gourmet Belgium Chocolate shop! I go hear quite a bit for gifts for family and friends! The owner is so nice. The selection is extensive and pretty rare. Pricey but quality chocolate is never cheap. One of a kind place! You’ll fall in love!

Terrific selection of European (and very good Belgian) chocolates and marzipan. It is such a sweet little shop and the proprietress knows her chocolates. In fact, I asked her for a special order for a friend retiring and she found a chocolate watch for me outlined in (edible) gold trim that was the hit of his party. It only took her three hours to find it and a day to get it into her shop… and the price was amazingly reasonable. Guys… go there for Valentine’s Day… go now… don’t wait. And if you have kids, drop them off at the local CircusCARES for Your Kids event in Nyack… go to dinner and then head over to Chocolaterie for dessert… but she closes at 9pm Sat, Feb 11, 2012. Hurry!

Amazing selection sure to catch the eye of anyone with a sweet tooth! nice selection of pre packaged as well as by the pound chocolates. Plus a selection of teas, and mugs. Very hard to pass this place by! And really no reason to! A tad pricey, but ok for the occasional treat.

This shop has a nice selection of mostly European chocolate. I love the nonperils, chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate covered blueberries! They have both chocolates behind the case and already packaged chocolate. They have a great selection of all-​natural chocolate bars with interesting flavors. If you are looking to get someone a gift for the holidays, they have some nice festive chocolate baskets and festive treats. Anytime I’m in the area its hard not to stop in a pick some stuff up!
I wish they had more selection of chocolates… such as every type of chocolate covered nut cluster ever.
