Employee was unfriendly. She said she was not allowed to offer restroom to paying customer, was unwilling to ring a customer up until she finished with another’s question. rigid, inflexible and drove multiple potential customers off. losing otherwise profit

Past by this store a couple of times… finally went in. Not only did they have items that«spoke» to me… the staff was very helpful without being pushy! Win! Thank you!

I was visiting Nyack this past weekend with family and doing some window(and actual) shopping. I came across Saffron Trading Company and went in — they had a lot of cute items for your home, as well as some jewelry, scarves, etc. The store was moderately crowded for a Sunday afternoon and as I was looking at a jewelry case, my phone beeped. I pulled it out of my purse, and no sooner had I done so, a saleswoman started yelling at me to «please move because you are texting and not looking at the jewelry.» I was a little confused(as were the people next to me; I wasn’t blocking their view or anything) and when I began to defend myself, she simply raised her voice and started making a scene. I decided it was best not to fight with someone over something so ridiculous, but I did leave without purchasing the necklace I was eyeing. The entire situation was sort of embarrassing(for her, mostly) and I thought it was bizarre that they would treat a customer in such a rude manner. Alas, I won’t be going back there again on my next trip to Nyack — plenty of other cute little stores that will gladly take my money(and allow me to check my phone when it beeps!).

Such a cute store! They have a variety of unique items that range from home décor to jewelry. The women were friendly and helpful. Great place if you are looking for something special to purchase for someone or even yourself. I found a necklace for myself unlike any I have seen elsewhere. I will def be going back.

We went to the store and tried to find a specific type of book set for children. When we saw that there was only the display set, we asked if they had the box. They only looked for a couple of minutes and said they didn’t have the box. They also said that they ordered a shipment and it would come in 2 to 3 weeks. And they prevented us from purchasing it that day. We realized that the book set was from the same company who made the children’s puzzles, and so my wife called 2 days later to ask the company/brand of the puzzles. They didn’t help, said they haven’t ordered the shipment of it, and at first said they couldn’t look at the product and give us the name. When pressed, they said the first name of the brand, but we couldn’t understand it, and when we asked for the person to spell it, they didn’t, and kept repeating the name. Then she told us to Google it. How can we Google it if we can’t spell it? And they said there were extremely busy with customers, on Friday around 1:30pm. We called again, and I called this time. I asked for the name brand of the children’s puzzles and if they could tell me what it was. The same lady told me that they were extremely busy, and that they would call me after they were done with their current customer. I waited over an hour and they didn’t call me. So I called again. The lady, Nancy, said that she couldn’t do tell me the name of the book, that they encourage people to come into the stores to look at the products themselves. I explained that in reality, I wasn’t look for the children’s puzzles, but the children’s books, which wasn’t in stock at the moment. That we went to Saffron a couple of days ago and would have bought it there, but they weren’t available. Nancy still told me that she couldn’t tell me, that I would have to come in, and hung up. I waited a few seconds and called again. Nancy changed her voice in hopes that I wouldn’t recognize her, but she still told me her name was Nancy. When I said that I just called, she changed her voice back to normal again. I explained the situation again, saying that all we’re trying to do is get the name of a book set, and that we’re calling because it’s not in the stores, so there is no point in going to the store. And that if your policy is that we have to come into the store so that you won’t lose business, then Saffron needs a new business model because obviously you are failing. I asked to speak to the manager, and Nancy said that I spoke to her earlier. And she said that my wife already spoke to her, and I explained that while she did speak to the manager, she didn’t understand her and didn’t get the name. So finally, Nancy told me the name, and I started to look it up on the computer. Nancy didn’t even wait for me to finish looking it up and said she had to go. This is the opposite of what they say on their website. Just go to the About section and read what’s under«Our Commitment to our Customers.» That is pathetic. Changing voices? Lying? Laziness? This is a horrible store. And the only reason I give 1 star is because I can’t give 0.

This store is gorgeous and they take great pride in their displays(not just the window, the entire store is a stunning display of their merchandise). They have a great selection of decorative items, awesome teas, tons of candles and candleholders, beautiful jewelry(a lot of it nature-inspired), a really well-edited selection of clothing, and unique children’s items. They also carry a lot of products from The Soap & Paper Factory, a local company that’s one of my favorites. This store is very, very Nyack — eclectic, funky, upscale earthy… a great place to shop for gifts, or for yourself!

This place has the most interesting pieces of furniture, knickknacks, jewelry and clothing. If you want to get a great unique gift or add an eclectic piece of décor to your home this is definitely a place you may want to check out. The owner is very hands on and she is very friendly. I always have a lovely experience in this store. You tend to never see the same things twice.
