I used the bathroom without buying anything and they were still nice to me! In my book. that’s a 5 star and I don’t care what you think!

Stopped here on the way from Ft. Bragg to Bend and had a good fill-up & conversation. Even though the full-serve policy in Oregon seems kind of silly, I’ll trade some friendly banter for video ads and credit card machines any day.

This small convenience store serves as a general store with a few Broaster’s Chicken offerings, a deli, and the pulse of this quaint community. Between this spot and the post-office next door, you can pick up some Doritos, postage stamps, and local gossip. Very limited fresh produce

I’m not sure if the place I went to is the O’brien Country Store, but there aren’t that many and the description of the previous review sounds right to me. This place is right on the NW corner of an intersection. probably the main intersection in town: D I stayed at Lone Mountain RV Park, which is right behind this Country Store. We needed change for the showers so we ran up to this store and even though they weren’t open yet for another hour, the people kindly gave us change. We dropped by after packing up our campground for tea on the way out of town. They were making homemade cookies fresh out of the oven and I couldn’t resist buying one, it smelled SOOGOOD in there. I got chocolate chip, which just finished baking, she was making peanut butter and oatmeal chocolate chip later on. I would have bought one of each I think if they were ready! Damage for the Two Leaves and a Bud tea and gigantic fresh cookie: a whopping $ 1.75! This would have been $ 5 back in Victoria. Just one of the reasons I love Oregon. Oh yeah, the cookie didn’t let me down. crispy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside. Perfect.

A great little general store with a lot of history. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. They stock a wide variety of sundries and have a nice deli as well. A little pricey but when you have a corner on the market with your corner market, the price gun is your own. They’ve also got fuel and propane. Make sure not to miss the old antique Plymouth police car parked outside the front of the building too!

This building has been around since the 1920’s, when the road to the coast was dirt. It’s the site of the O’Brien Post Office. The store got a big face-lift about 20 years ago, with big glass windows, better parking and a deli counter inside. Plus the owner added a bathroom for people passing through, and upgraded the gas pumps. The gas in O’Brien is the last gas until you get almost all the way to the coast, and it’s usually the same price as in Cave Junction — so if you need gas before you leave the Illinois Valley going toward the coast, this is a good choice. You can stop over, get some coffee or a snack and use the bathrooms. The service is friendly. Groceries are a bit expensive(it’s a small rural store), but they have everything you’ll need to picnic on your travels.
