Studio 1 Salon

To be completely fair, I heard about this place through groupon and was having a very crazy day, so I did not remember to make an appointment. However, I went in and had to wait for the receptionist to take a 15 minute phone call. When she was finally done chatting, I told her that I had the groupon and she immediately stiffened and was not as friendly as she was to her customer on the phone. She told me that I could be seen in fifteen minutes and that things were very tight with the groupon because only 2 stylists were actually participating in the deal. (This was not specified in the groupon!) She was just very rude and snarky the whole time, then told me to sit and they would call me when they were ready. After waiting for an hour (while the salon was completely empty!) several ladies walked in and were seen to right away. The rudeceptionist walked up to me and told me that I could come back in four hours or reschedule for a different day, with no apology.
Needles to say I got my groupon refunded. And I will NEVER set foot in that place again.

This review is more for the stylist than the actual studio. Robin Pilla rents her chair at Studio 1 and is simply amazing! She has been doing hair for so long that she knows exactly how to get your hair to do what you want it to do. The other members of the staff have always been nice but I wouldn’t trust anyone but Robin with my hair.

This is the best salon to go to in St Charles County. They offer a wide variety of services (hair and nails) and have a brand new beautiful salon. The stylists are all great and I never have trouble getting an appointment in. The price is very reasonable and I wouldnt trust my hair anywhere else.

I was in my sister’s wedding as she made us appointments to get our hair done at Studio 1 Hair Design. We were greeted on a Saturday morning with a smile and a warm welcome (and congratulations to the bride). They had mimosas and bagels set out for us, which made the experience even better (AMAZING)!
They accommodated the bridal party in a timely manner. They were very organized and made our party feel very special (not just like another wedding party).
My hair is very thick and can take a lot of work for an up do. I was very pleased with my hair. It looked amazing and it even held for the 16 hour day (and probably would have never fallen if I never took the pins out to wash it)!
If I was not having a destination wedding, I would definitely have my hair done at Studio 1 Hair Design! We did not just feel like clients, we felt like we were invited into their home. They were able to get all of us finished in a timely manner, so we were able to stay on schedule, and most importantly, our hair looked fabulous and held for the long day ahead (it even survived a rain storm)!
The bride had her makeup done and I wish I would have done the same… she looked absolutely stunning!
As a side note, my sister gets her hair cut at Studio 1 Hair Design and always loves it (I live too far away), so if you are in the St. Charles/O’Fallon area, you definitely need to check out Studio 1 Hair Design!
