Quintessential dive bar… You know you like it. This used to be an «old folks» bar, but I believe the owner turned things over to his son maybe a year or two ago and he’s turned it into a much younger crowd, implemented credit/​debit processing (used to be cash only), and widened the range of products considerably. The place is mostly a dive, but the service is good and the people are nice. So I’d say it meets expectations.

Another dive that I generally do not voluntarily go to, but I thought deserved a review. One of my favorite beers is Schlafly’s seasonal Pumpkin Ale. Due to the low volume of people this bar sees — they have it nearly year round. Unfortunate for Towne Lounge, GREAT for me. I’ve also had excellent bar tenders here. They’re always very friendly!
I give it 2 stars because I can never seem to get into the «ambiance» that is the Towne Lounge. It feels pretty slummy and I’ve often ordered mixed drinks they either don’t know how to make or don’t have the proper ingredients to make. It’s okay for what it is… it’s just not for me.
