I LOVED this place while I stayed in MV. Very fun place to hang out, this is where everyone seems to go. Our waitress the first night here was a sweetheart. I think the food is awesome(especially the nachos)! Can’t say anything about the wait time– there was none. But this was because my friend and I stayed at the Vineyard the week before busy season kicks in.(Boy were we glad — fewer crowds everywhere and so much fun with the locals.)

There are certain places that once you have a certain dish, you will compare to that dish at every other restaurant. That dish here is the Nachos. Oh sweet, lovely Nachos, I dream of you, and how every chip has beans and sour cream, and not a gloppy mess in the center! You may not look like much but one bite and I was hooked! Oh also, my friend swears by the hot sauce there, but it’s been a while since I’ve had it, so I don’t want to make too much of a mention. AND they have trivia! Or did, it’s been a while.

We have many find memories of going to Sharkey’s over the last 10 years visiting Oak Bluffs, all good! The pomegranate Margarita is awesome as is the taco salad. Gaucamole could be better and the bathrooms could be more convenient..

I usually get to the heart of the matter when I talk about a restaurant and to me, the heart of a great restaurant is the food. But in this case, I’m going to start with management and staff which, at Sharky’s is first-rate. My husband and I have patronized Sharky’s Cantina from day one, our initial attraction being that you truly get a sense you’re in a great local joint in Playa del Carmen as opposed to a strip mall chain like Chipotle. Living on Martha’s Vineyard presents numerous challenges for its year-round population when many restaurants close soon after Labor Day. Management at Sharky’s(there are two locations, both excellent, but I am partial to Oak Bluffs) is totally on it keeping it’s devoted clientele informed via text, Facebook and Twitter about last minute food deal’s and special events, good for business and patron alike. The server’s are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, making sure your food arrives promptly and properly prepared, yet not rushing you through it to get to the next party of four. Very much appreciated. For the longest time we were hard pressed not to order anything but Sharky’s excellent Gaucho Steak, a wonderful combination of marinated skirt steak piled high with guacamole, salsa, a dollop of sour cream and served on a bed of rice with your choice of beans(black for me) Always delicious and almost impossible not to bring home an ample doggy bag of leftovers for the following days lunch, it’s a winning combination of flavor. We have strayed of course, especially at lunchtime to order Nachos(a terrific starter, especially for a crowd), taco salad served with your choice of protein(beef, chicken, fish) wings, tortilla soup or my personal favorite, Sizzlin’ Fajitas. Pair any of these wonderful dishes with a Corona with a lime stuff in its neck or one of Sharky’s fabulous margarita’s(check out the watermelon Sharkarita, trust me on this) and Olé’! You are good to go!

Don’t know if it was end of season, lets just clean out what we’ve got left or what. Four friends, we all agreed it was the worse meal we’ve ever purchased. I actually got sick that evening.

We were there earlier this month as a party of 7; 4 adults, and 3 kiddos. We had to use 2 tables to seat all of us because they don’t have one table big enough. No biggie. We were still all seated together, and we all ordered together. The wait hadn’t been very long, and here comes my parents’ food, my food followed right behind, and so did my husband’s. Then we waited. And waited. Still no food for our kiddos. As we are waiting, our crunchy tacos have fallen apart from the grease soaking through them. And then we waited some more. Alas, here comes some more food, but only 2 of my kids plates arrived, but nothing for my youngest. So we waited, and waited. Finally, here come the nachos that my youngest had seen in an advertisement on the bus; the whole reason he had asked if we could eat here. They brought the nachos out, put them in front of him; he was so excited. They looked just like the picture. As he’s getting ready to dive in, the guy comes back, and said it’s the wrong order. Then takes the nachos away, delivers them to a couple sitting at another table… that came in after us, and ordered after us. Are you kidding me??? So we are still waiting for the food for my youngest to arrive. A few more minutes, out come his nachos. This is no exaggeration, 10 minutes went by from when my plate was dropped off, and my 2 kiddos got their food. Then another 5 minutes before the next plate arrived. 15 minutes from first plate delivered to last plate delivered. Something is very wrong there. A quick side note here; we ordered straight off the menu. No special orders, no particular requests, nothing fancy, nothing to make some plates come out later than others. The food… meh. No chips, and salsa included with the meal. I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn’t serve chips, and salsa with your meal. To be honest though, even if the food was the best Mexican food I had ever eaten(which it very much was not), I still would never come here again because of how our food was delivered. Huge, huge disappointment; and all of it done without any kind of apology or acknowledgement. If that’s how they run a business, I don’t care to give them any kind of support whatsoever. Stay away, and go spend your money somewhere else.

My girlfriend and I visited Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard Island this past weekend(Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th). We had nearly every detail planned including where we were going to watch the Patriot’s and Bill’s game on Sunday(die-hard Pat’s fan here). The plan was to go to a different place across the street from the ferry terminal(NOT Sharky’s) but, left even before taking a sip of a drink because the wait staff was unbelievably rude. To say my mood was dampened is an understatement but, we walked down the street(passing by several bars) to find a different spot to catch the Pat’s. We walked into Sharky’s(this was our first time here) and we were immediately greeted by our bartender(Jessie). I explained what had just happened to us up the street. She sat us right in front of the big screen and promised we will have a MUCH better time where we landed… and did we ever!!! The location is ideal, the food was fabulous, cocktails were amazing, the entire staff was completely accommodating and the conversation with both staff and patrons was hilarious. Jessie was extremely attentive and obviously enjoys what she does. Always smiling and engaging… the polar opposite from our experience up the road at the Lookout Tavern. Charlie(the manager)…Oh my!!! What a character. Talk about having a million dollar personality. Charlie made certain my girlfriend and I had one heck of an experience at his bar. He knows how to make a person feel welcomed and at home. And Charlie’s football knowledge was simply the icing on the cake. Jessie/Charlie…Thank you both for making our visit to Sharky’s such a pleasure. We had a great time(and an awesome win) and we appreciate your hospitality. If you’re planning on visiting Oak Bluff’s, please make sure to stop into Sharky’s Cantina on Circuit Avenue. You’ll be glad you did. Peace!

Love this place! Been here several times during Vineyard visits. Best nachos and texmex and they serve food late!!! Service is ok but it’s really casual/bar atmosphere.

Some friends and I went here for lunch when we were on Martha’s Vineyard. Overall, it was decent. The food was rather bland, and the margaritas were sub par.(My boyfriend insisted his tasted like«dirt.») The rice was not authentic and tasted frozen or something. I didn’t particularly mind the food and they had a lot of vegetarian options, which we loved. It was somewhat overpriced for what it was, though. If I were in the area again, I would maybe give it another shot.

Very bland food. Not a hint of spice in the watery salsa, and the beans seemed to be right out of a can. The servers were very friendly, but the food seems to be focused on catering to people who like their food entirely predictable and utterly forgettable.

Food is below Mexican restaurant chain standards. «Grilled» chicken reheated and rubbery, tortilla also of the rubbery texture. Burrito warm on one side and cold on the other. Chips very greasy. Would not recommend.

Stopped in here for an early lunch a few weeks ago. Even though only one person was working he was able to serve all of us and knew we had to make it to our 1:15 ferry. Great service. We got coconut shrimp and wings to start which were both very good. Then I got a quesadilla with guacamole for lunch. Everything tasted really fresh. The portion sizes are very generous, but definitely manageable if you’re hungry. Only thing I found odd was that the restrooms are not attached to the restaurant. If I’m ever on the island again I’ll be sure to check out the drink menu as well because from what I hear it’s excellent.

Great spot for a some nachos/chips and salsa as well as A few Dos Equis ambers. Huge Menu, but nothing amazing. It gets quite Warm in the summer. Didn’t seem like there was any AC. Great spot for a few beers and nachos waiting for the ferry back to mainland.

Seriously, eat here. Stop reading. Eat here. Drink here. The food is absolutely spot on, fresh, vibrant, and lively; keeping well in the spirit of the establishment itself, which was loud, fun, and comfortable. I’ve sniffed out the few other salsa-slingers on the island, and nothing compares. Drinks had a leg up over other local bars and were reasonably priced. I promise you, if you duck in here on a rainy Wednesday afternoon, you’ll have an absolute ball and a fabulous meal.

I had a bad experience at a bar close by so we came to sharkys afterwards. Absolutely amazing! Food, drinks and service were great. Defenetly will come back here. I only gave them 4 stars because they have to invest time and money in their bathrooms. I know they probably can’t do anything about having them off premises, but keeping them clean and a fresh coat of paint shouldn’t be that difficult to do.

After spending $ 160+ on riding the ferry with our car to visit Martha’s Vineyard for a day, we thought the $ 13.99 Chimichanga was a huge chuck of change we didn’t have. However, Sharky’s Cantina has the best deal on Chips & Dips. Freshly fried tortilla chips with pico de gallo salsa for only $ 2.99. It’s a huge bag of chips + an ice cream cup full of salsa. Not the tiny sauce cup usually given by other standard establishment. It was very tasty and we took the chips and salsa onto the green lawn by Ocean Avenue. Great picnic. We did also get a pulled chicken burrito for $ 9.99. It’s a bit more expensive than ones sold in Boston but it was densely packed and weighed about a pound, definitely«sharing sized». That’s our $ lunch at the Vineyard. Love the décor!

Heyooooo nachoooo! We came here for some late night munchies, and ordered the large nachos. Our server looked wide-eyed and wanted to make sure we weren’t ordering any more food for our group of 4. When the nachos came out, I could see why. The plate was stacked HIGH, chips overflowing with cheese and mounds of tasty salsa on top, with beans smashed in between. The cheese to chip ratio(or CCR, one of the most important quality indicators of the nacho) was immense. So much going on in the center, that there was barely enough time to mess with the guac and sour cream on the side. They also have a nice waitlist system arranged, where they will text you when your table is ready. Better than carrying around a buzzer!
